Q.Has LIC's business shrunk by 12 per cent in the current fiscal?

A.No, the projections are varied and there is a shortfall. However, I am confident that by the time we close the year, we will register a healthy growth.

Q.How is LIC planning to meet challenges from the private insurance companies?

A.LIC is India's biggest financial institution and it will continue to be so in the future. With the opening up of Insurance sector a lot of private players have come in bringing increased competition. Taking up the challenge LIC has restructured some of its policies and have come up with new innovative policies both conventional and unit linked. I can say with confidence, that despite stiff competition from about 20 private companies, LIC's market share has grown continuously. Our emphasis is to keep our customer base intact and attract new customers by improving upon policy servicing and settlement of claims. Infact, LIC has been a leader in settlement of claims settling over 10 times the claims settled by any other private insurance company in India. We aspire to win over our customer's confidence and maintain it lifelong.

Q.There is a speculation that LIC is losing business in the High Net Segment, your comments?

A.No, it may be the case in some parts of the country but when you take the scenario in-toto, it gives a clear picture about LIC's standing. We still are leaders catering to the High Net Segment. We have large number of customers in Rs 40 crore and above segment.

Q.What happened to the proposed credit cards LIC was to come out along with GE Money?

A.Credit cards business is obviously a tricky business. LIC had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with GE Money for its credit card venture. However, GE Money has gone cold on the proposed venture.

Q.Will LIC go ahead alone to issue credit cards?

A.Well, we are getting proposals from several established players for a tie-up for the credit card venture. However, no decision has been taken on it as of now. Neither has LIC decided to go ahead with credit cards venture on its own, as of now.

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Details of 20 plots in the Job for Plot scam have been released!!!!
First and foremost the 'ghoos' or plots should be ceased!!!
And pray why has Kanti Singh gifted a three storey house to Laloo's sons??
The way to find Laloo's favor is via his pocket is one of the many apt pun's!!!
And Kanti's beta too has gifted a plot to Laloo's biwi!!!
Thanks to JD(U) now to this gifting game we have been made privy!!!
If Maya's collected Mukats then Laloo's collected plots!!!!

Collected plots in the name of even his tots!!!!

What does Manmohan or Mohna have to say!!!!

An honest man would show Laloo from the Cabinet 'exit' ka way!!!

Some would say this is out of Mohna's jurisdiction!!!

They point to his 'puppet' condition!!!

Seems the Puppeteer either does not consider 'plots for jobs' as impropriety!!!!

Or numbers have taken a precedence over propriety!!!!

Laloo too has Amar's art of wiggling out!!!!!

In the past too Public ne 'chaara chor' kiya tha shout'!!!

Amar is lying low!!!

And why he's doing this we all know!!!!

Seems to PMO he's stopped penning demands!!!!

And is now issuing to PMO verbal commands!!!

Previously he used to pen the demands and release the same to the Press!!!!

But now he's stopped doing this after getting into this cash for votes mess!!

Mulayam runs away the minute he sights a camera or mike!!!

And if Media runs after him it is like going on a hike!!!

Haywood they say had missionary zeal!!!!

He was a CIA operative many feel!!!

The missionary work was just a cover!!!

He was working for the CIA undercover!!!

Info on his Laptop points in this direction!!!!

And to clear him at the Airport there must have been a clear direction!!!

Congress has the art of lighting fires!!!!

From this trait it never tires!!!

Now it's assisted PDP making J&K burn!!!!

Both PDP and Congress lit fires turn by turn!!!

Farouk Abdullah has perfected the art of double talk!!!

Out of Kashmir he chirps like a sparrow and in Kashmir he calls like a Hawk!!!

As for his son Omar…. he's a wheeler dealer to the core!!!!

His rhetoric comes from an empty store!!!!

Rahul Baba's talent hunt seems to have netted 'fresh fish'!!!

But what he seems to forget is that what matters is the end Dish!!!!

Once the fresh fish are put into the political melting pot!!!!

The freshness in no time will rot!!!

Congress has Allies that are hoods!!!!

And Congressis themselves are no babes in the woods!!!

So rest assured the freshly netted fish will soon become rotten!!!

Rotten who cannot differentiate between khoon paseene ki kamaee and ill gotten!!!!

See what Congress made an honest man like Manmohan into!!!!

The same will happen to the newly netted fish too!!!

This fresh blood talent hunt is an exercise in futility!!

Because in politics propriety is the first casualty!!!

Medal winners have won medals despite the Sports Administrators back home!!!

Speak to them about the Sport Administrators and in the mouth they start to foam!!!

No one except the medal winners can take credit for their winning!!!!

No wonders Sports Administrators back home are sheepishly grinning!!!

Imagine back home 20 budding wrestlers sleep in one room and two in one bed!!

Talk to the athletes about the system and in their face they go red!!!

Confucius says…. the system horribly failed!!!!

It's by sheer personal grit that into glory these athletes sailed!!!!

Office discipline be enforced by seniors, CR system be changed

In response to A K Bhimani's observations, I would like to say that the office discipline should be enforced by the senior officers. Unfortunately, the erring officials often get "outstanding" CRs from their superiors and administration cannot take any action against them for indiscipline. The CR system must be completely changed and a third party evaluation be introduced. The CR of an officer can be written by the team working under him or by any other objective system. Suggestions are welcome.

Humiliation meted out by China can't be forgotten

I entirely agree with Rekha Srivastava that we should concentrate on producing medal winners. However, the humiliation meted out by China in not inviting our Head of Govt/State to the Olympics is a different matter and a serious issue that can not be forgotten on account of her argument.

A welcome proposal !
All the service conditions which are available to CSS officers should either be applicable to them also uniformly or the service and reservations conditions applicable to IAS officers should be made applicable to CSS officers and also to the officers of State Administrative Services etc.

Food & Supply Office has its own ways
Since this site is a favourite one for all top government officials, I wish to share one of my experience in the Food & Supply Office, Circle 29, Palam. The actual working hours for public dealing in this office is 9.30 to 1.00 PM. But no one reaches office including the class 4 staff before 11.30. The FSO himself reaches around 1.00 PM. Mostly he does not comes to the office at all. Ration is required more by the poor people. The inspectors of this circle demand money or they reject the application for unknown reason. If any higher officer is reading this article, please take appropriate action against the corrupt officers and take steps to maintain punctuality in the office which deals with public.
