WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US

Now, whispers r coming less and facts r seen more. Any way, wonderful effort and it keeps people abreast of what is happening in the man management of Indian bureaucracy.
I want to give my views on the repeated comparison, almost every day, of IAS with other services.

It is like a Crow aspiring to become Peacock

Really, it is surprising how other service people grumble about the superiority of IAS. It is known form day one that it is a superior service where the promotions will be faster than that offered to other services. U should have a very high rank to get into IAS and that is why, people who get into other services like IPS, IRs, IA&AS etc with lower ranks keep on writing to get into IAS and try it till their last available chance of writing the civil services exam. Many succeed also. It is like a Crow aspiring itself to become a Peacock. There is no point in crying to day and they should have worked for it in the beginning itself. They should accept the fact gracefully and should be contented in what they have achieved in their areas.

What a Joke Mr Deb

Ashutosh seems to belong to the IAS as his writing shows the evident arrogance the IAS get from very early in the service by bossing around. On the one hand the IAS decides rules for the other service as well as for itself and on the other hand Ashutosh suggests that different services should not be compared. Who framed the rules for Telecom, Indian Revenue Service, Police service and all others. It's the Secretary sitting pretty at top. Regarding the top heavy, his comments that other services have become top heavy reminds me of the hind saying -Maaro aur rone bhi na do. IAS is equally top heavy only it does not pinches them because over the time they have cornered away top posts of other services where their senior members can be posted. Few examples are CAG and Telecom Secy. They have been trying for the chairmen and member Railway board and so many other posts, and many be they will be successful one day. They are trying for the post of Appellate tribunal for Money Laundering and what not. Name a top panel and it is manned by them. Why?

No other service officer is worthy? So you make others top heavy in order for you to be top light and then blame others to be top heavy. Regarding Ashutosh's comment on policy and administration, the less said the better. Those who know majority of IAS will accept that 90 percent don't know even the basics. They are the poorest in policy making and pay crores to middlemen in the name of consultants and advisors who draft everything for them. Regarding administration the whole country is seeing what kind of administration they have brought the country in. I don't know about tax assessor or inspectors referred by him, but if they are so good why don't the IAS make certain rules to make these assessor of inspectors to the cadre of IAS.
You corner the deputation posts and then claim you are not top heavy. You take a deputation to a finance post for two years and claim yourself to be finance expert and thing you know better finance than a finance man. Similarly you become IT- InfoTech savvy or law expert. What a farce is it the country is bearing. No surprise there is still no stoppage of brain drain as if there is no recognition for the brain it will certain drain out of country.

Vinod Pande

I would beg to differ

I would beg to differ with Deb that the IAS are excellent in all fields. The fact is that they do not know Defence Policy and International Security but are Defence Secretaries, Do not know Trade Policy, but are Commerce Secretaries, Do not know Tax Policy, but are Revenue Secretaries, Do not know Corporate Policy, but are Secretaries Company Affairs. The list goes on and on. The fact of the matter is that the IAS fires from the shoulders of the other services. Go to any ministries and see the work done by the DS/Directors and Economic advisors. They are the true drivers of Policy in India.

Palani T

Only demand for fair treatment

There is no cause for hatred against IAS but only demand for fair and just treatment by other services. This assumes importance as difference in ranking/marks in civil services examination for IAS and non IAS now a days is minimal and hence being in any service other than IAS does not mean that those officers are of less caliber compared to their IAS compatriots. Hence disparity in Pay scale and deputation and posting should go for smooth and efficient running of Government machinery

Praveen

Let other services be allowed

I don't agree what Ashutosh Deb says. IAS cadre has not down sized the cadre but made it flexible to accommodate the promotions made on time bound manner. A post in state Govt. can be held by Director(JAG Level) or on some occasion by commissioner(SAG Level). The same post is held by Commissioner and by Principal Secretary. Let them allow other services to do that.

This site should desist from giving space to such views

Yes Mr. Krishnan. You are absolutely right. In order to remain safe, women need to stay inside the house and if she has to go out, she should cover herself and take an army with her. This site should desist from giving space to such archaic and obsolete views. And Mr. Krishnan needs to understand that such views as expressed by the CoP, Mumbai does not need endorsement but should be ridiculed.

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Maya says her life is under threat!!!
Because Congress has raised its anti Maya ante Maya karr rahi hai fume and fret!!!

Fact is 'jaisi karni waisi bharni'!!!
So Maya needs to look at her own karni!!!

Be it Mulayam or Maya both have goondas on call!!!!
When needed goondas from within UP or outside UP karr lethe hai call!!!

So why doesn't she form her own in-house protective shield???
Made up of goondas and weapons these goondas should wield!!!

And Maya has threatened to upset UPA's applecart!!!
She threatens she'll break the applecart and UPA's apples it won't be able to cart!!!

She's banking that Commies will pull the plug!!!!
And she'll pretend that it was she who actually pulled the rug!!!

And she's even got a pink suit and solitaires made when she makes this boast!!!
She'll then boast ' anyone who crosses my path is toast'!!

Commies are in a flux because of Basu's statement!!!
Now Karat says by the Media the statement is being bent!!!

He uses this excuse himself whenever his foot lands in his gob!!!
And he does ' Media is misconstruing me' sob!!!

He says that what Basu meant was that even in Socialism capital is a need!!!!
So capital is needed to water Socialism's anti capitalism seed!!!

What Basu has said is….. na comrade, na communism maiya (Mum),
The whole thing is that sabh se badaa Won, Rouble and Rupiya!!!

Communism in coming years will fall to new lows!!!
And in due course will take its final bows!!!!

And the fall will start from West Bengal rout!!!
From its bastion Communism will be kicked out!!!

' There's going to be a big change' says Badal Junior!!!
Does he mean that he's going to replace Badal Senior!!!

He said this at a NRI jamboree and also assured them to reign in Punjab Cops!!!
And just listen to his idea to ensure that harassment stops!!!!

Badal Junior aka Kakaji proposes that in all Police Station hotlines will be installed!!!!
Has the Police communication network stalled???

The NRIs had a good laugh at the proposals made by father and son jodhi!!!
And the consensus was ' akal donaa wich hai thodi'!!!

UNPA Allies are making noises again!!!!
Say that in UPA's time Farmers have been subjected to immense pain!!!!

Chandrababu never bothered about Farmers when he was the Boss!!!
And in UP with Mulayam farmers are still very cross!!!

Abdullah doesn't know what Farmers do!!!
And from Haryana Farmers when Chautala lost he got the biggest boo!!!

To become a Member Party should have a consistent track record of performance defiance!!!
UNPA is United Non Performers Alliance!!!!!

Seems the Goras have ganged up against BCCI and Indian Team!!!!
By their actions yehi karr raha hai seem!!!

Looks like the Goras want to ban India from cricket!!!
And make it look that India 's out because of hitting its own wicket!!!

Proctor is an all out racist and hands out stringent punishment to non Goras!!!
Goras for a racist Proctor are like his own choras!!!

Don't forget that he's a White from Mandela Land !!!
Where the Blacks ne baja diya tha apartheid system ka band!!!

And Aussies are known for their slanging and rudeness!!!!
Their attitude and lingo shows their crudeness!!

Buckoner once gave Tendulkar out HBW (helmet before wicket)!!!!!
Ball Tendulkar's helmet and he applied the rule for LBW!!

But why is a colored man helping them on this mission!!!
Seems Buckoner is getting cash or immigration as commission!!!

Now I think India should play the rest of the tour and then come back!!!!
And this would just add to the Aussies getting flack!!!

Go through the appeal process and then get on with the game!!!
We are hospitable in our Country and in some other Country we are just the same!!!

Confucius says….. This would not mean that India is giving its other cheek!!!!
But show that India is not weak!!!!!

Flash.... Bhaji's can play till a decision on his appeal is made!!!!
In legal parlance sentence has been stayed!!!

Blundering Buckoner has been shown the door and hope his umpiring days are over!!!
Umpiring to new depths he did lower!!!

Indians should complete the tour and come back with their heads held high!!!!
Play to their best ability and if they loose back home we'll not let out a sigh!!!
