Ki AawazWhen they could not predict spurt in inflation!!!!! How
can they predict inflation mein deflation???? Montek is just guessing that
inflation will dip, Had there been any accountability on such predictions then
predicting karta skip!!! No wonders Manmohan's or Manu's vision was so hazy!!!! Wondering
why was Manu being so ineffective on the economic front was driving me crazy!!!! Poor
Manu his vision was blurred because of his cataracts and so he bumbled, And
so often he stumbled!!!! And also keep in mind many senior Congressmen had
stuck their legs out to trip him!!! Hoping that he'll trip because his sight
was dim!!!! From the day he sat on the PM's chair his detractors kick started
Project Trip!!!! Detractors in the Party who were on a ' I should be PM' trip!!!! I
hear one Congressman was so confident of getting the call, That he'd got new
heeled shoes to look tall!!!! Both PC and Bush have made the rich fabulously
rich, And both ne poor ko kiya hai badly ditch!!! PC's fixation with growth
is the cause for our pain, Growth that is now our bane!!! PC says Indians
love vanilla ice cream as they like things to be simple, So why did he complicate
the I T Returns that have made tax payers crimple!!! The IT Return should be
as simple as possible and the new form is a deterrent, Has the potential to
scare away every new entrant!! And despite rocketing tax collections PC threatens
tax payers to pay up in time!!!!! Doesn't he know 'whipping a horse that's
running' is looked on as a crime???? There's an Indian adage that warns against
this, And says 'chalte ghode ko chabuk maarna one should give the miss'!!! Thankfully
very soon PC's going to be in the 'recycle bin'!!!!! And Indians will not have
to bear his idiocracies and also bear his sadistic grin!!!!! Sonia and Congress
will rue the decision of making him FM
in fact they are already ruing!!!! They
can hear from all parts of the Nation and sections of Society on PC booing!!! Sonia
can still save some face by ordering Manu ' Cabinet se PC ko karro eject'!!!! And
some person who is not mischievous like PC ko karro select!!! On PC's mischievous
tinkering and pottering watch out for exposures!!!! Revelations on the equations
disclosures!!! Now that his vision is not blurred why not let Manu also be
the FM???? Let Finance be one more portfolio with the PM!!!! Speaking of
disclosures why have Pawar and Laloo and their gang not done so???? PM had
asked all Mantris to disclose assets acquired in Office and tacitly they've said
no!!! Rather than making disclosures as per PM's diktat they've played hooky!! They've
sent in their IT Returns and asked PM to take into the returns a looky looky!!!! In
such disclosures is where the flow chart is actually required!!!!! So that
the Nation comes to know in Office what our Mantris have acquired!!!!! In fact
after leaving Office for five years they should be made to submit asset info!!!! Though
to this our politicians are going to cry 'no no'!!!! And all this info should
be put on the Net for Public to see!!! So that we can see the affluence graph
of our dear Mantri Ji!!! The problem with Oil is the weak Dollar!!!! For
a devaluation of the Dollar against Yuan USA needs to holler!!! And printing
of more Dollars needs to be stopped, When it comes to currency the currency
tank they've topped (tank filled)!!!! And these strategic oil reserves are
causing Oil pain, Need to be considered and evaluated again!!! Like why
aren't Iraq 's oil reserves added to USA 's reserves????? Wherever US wants
there the oil flow from Iraq swerves!!! Till American Army is on Iraqi soil, Till
then America is tacitly the owner of Iraqi oil!!!! The Public opinion is that
CBI is brought in when a case has to be muddled!!!!! CBI's Befuddling Investigation
leaves all befuddled!!! They gave one of the main accused in the Nithari case
a clean chit!!!! On the right side of the Sarkaar CBI chooses to sit!!!! But
CBI is majoboor as it's shackled by the Sarkaar in power!!!! Obeys Sakraar's
orders
.. attack or cower!!! Confucius says
A free Investigation
Agency in a Democracy is a must!!!! In a Free Press and Investigation Agency
Democracy lays its trust!!!

This should be the criteria of retirement age I feel that the retirement
age should be 70 years for good officers and 50 years for bad officers. Maniratnam
Bharatiyam Should retirement age be raised ? It is ridiculous
to see the proposals and rumours about raising of the retirement age for the government
servants to even to 62 years. This is a typical example how our political masters
can create a long term liabilities for some short-term gains . It may benefit
some government servants who wants to cling to their chairs as long as possible
but has anybody thought about the cascading effect on the overall unemployment
and the fate of the youth of this country . It will further reduce the employment
opportunities for the youth by 20000- 30000 every year .One wonders why none of
the youth organisations both political and social groups have not taken up the
issue seriously as it will effect their future and future of this country . Youth
welfare remains as political slogan only in this country ? What about the
productivity .It is a known fact that the productivity of government servants
get reduced proportionately with the number of years of service ,particularly
after the age of 55 years. They are allowed to continue in the service so to say
on compassionate grounds to look after their health and take of the pension benefits
etc till 60 years. There should be a limit to this compassionate considerations
or else it will further effect the overall productivity . There are some sincere
government servants and exceptions to this general situation but that does justify
raising the retirement age beyond 60 years . Probably our political masters
do not see the merit in any issue and tend to ignore it unless it is voiced in
public in the form demonstrations and strikes ? It is strongly suggested that
such proposal of raising the retirement age should not be entertained . B.M.Pandey
It is all rumour There is no such move as raising the retirement
age to 65 years. It is all rumour. R Singh Finance Minister is
living in future This was extended from 58 to 60 years and now proposed
to 65 years. Reasons are the same. Finance Minister is living in future which
is uncertain. He may be in government or not after 5 years who knows. Let others
face this payment problem etc. at the end of 5 years. Ram Kanwar Bad
news for good governance The raising of retirement age in government, across
board is bad news for good governance. As a civil servant, my unbiased view !
( I have completed 19 yrs and due for SAG, so i have no stakes)is that Governments
have failed to weed out the rotten elements, have not used 56 J provisions, and
is in no position to distinguish the good from the bad. I suggest retaining the
retirement age at 60 and need to work out a handsome VRS, so that we create vacancies
and infuse fresh blood. It will also be cheaper for the government in the long
run ( getting workers with new skills and updated understanding at 1/3rd cost).
The economic argument will fall flat after 2 yrs and we will have a whole generation
to blame us for this historical blunder. we need to consider the impact on the
unemployed youths and their families too. Govt will bound to lose millions of
votes, so it is politically also a bad decision. what the government needs to
do is to retain the qualified doctors, technical experts and scientists. How do
they incentivise these guys to stay?. Instead there will be a further exodus of
talented people if 65 comes in. Please dont create historic blunders Dr
Sanjay Singh The IAS crunch in states The reported IAS' crunch
in Orissa is merely the tip of the iceberg. All States suffer from this malaise.
There is a centripetal tendency in IAS officers to gravitate to the Centre of
gravity via central deputation route. Admittedly, the monthly incumbency statement
prepared by DOP&T is fudged. . As a result, the number of IAS officers at
the centre far exceeds its prescribed sanctioned strenght. Will the Government
please investigate and rectify the position. A K Saxena

Vaidyanathan Increase policing It is important to increase the
number of Police Stations and the ground level staff as per the approved scale,
in view of the increasing population, rapid urbanisation, more vehicular traffic
and more permissiveness in our society. If ground level policing increases and
police is allowed to function as per law of the land that will be a big service
to our crumbling democracy. S C Agrawal Sleaze in Govt. Departments Dear
Shiv, I like the way you express your words but the corruption starts from the
top level (Bottom Line Always Start from Top), you said LDC (Lower Divisional
Clerk) is making corruption. You are wrong. I tell you some thing about the corruption.
In the year 2004, a land acquire notice (section 4) was severed to a particular
area for developing township on GT Road and because of the highly well connected
person's land was in that notice, his piece of land was released by the department
and other people got another notice (Section 6). Now sir please tells me who did
it, LDC or an IAS/Politician. The land Acquire Notice is served on behalf
of Governor of a particular State. When other people reached Hon'ble High Court,
the entire land was released with the orders of Hon'ble High Court. Even Hon'ble
High Court objected the way Government department released land of that particular
person. When clerk is taking money, that money is not going in his/her wallet
alone. The entire collected money is divided according to the post and even supplied
to the Department Head in the form of cash or some thing else. I'm not saying
the every Politician/Bureaucrat is corrupt, but when it comes to highly well connected
person's venture they change in a second. Gurvinder Most of the
comments lack objectivity
I feel that most of the comments made
by many lack objectivity , knowledge of the subject on which they are writing
, decorum. Some of the comments are downright stupid. I think the comments made
by many need to be scanned first before they are allowed to appear. But if you
do already then what can I say. Sridhar This is a fact The
civil service has Salaries comparable to entry level call centre employees or
airline staff at the lowest level, a non-airconditioned car at the level of Joint
Secretary, retire at 60 or earlier and look for a fresh career while battling
middle age, a system of placement in GOI where the prospective JS / AS have to
beg and beg for mercy etc. Yet the country wants the most brilliant dedicated
civil service [the steel framework] in the world. Singh An open
letter/request to P Chidambaram Housing facility for Director/JC/Addl Commissioner
rank officers in Delhi. 1.The housing facility for middle level officers of
Income -tax Dept is pathetic to say the least 2.Most of the officers on deputation
or with CBDT are staying in one room transit accommodation or in far flung corner
of Delhi at rents in excess of HRA entitlement (HRA in any case is peanuts compared
to market rent) 3.Ministry of Finance ,which is boasting of great facility
for officers is totally blind to this problem of officers 4.CBDT is also not
showing any great interest in solving this problem as senior officers are not
affected. 5.Situation is so bad that probationers at other stations are having
better quarters than Additional Commissioners and Directors in Delhi. 6.The
only good accommodation available is at Kausambi, Gaziabad which is not suitable
for officers whose children are studying in Delhi. 7.I appeal to FM to take
personal interest to address this problem. Sanjay Tribute to late
O P Mehra I am extremely sad at the news of OP Mehra's sad demise, which
I got to know through the Whispers site. Like many of us, his juniors, I had
a long and a very productive professional relationship with him. I especially
recall the time when I was Collector Bastar, 1986-1988, while he was Principal
Secretary, Tribal Welfare. He was very supportive and welcomed new ideas. One
of the new initiatives we did together was starting support price operations for
Imli (Tamarind), a commodity found in vast abundance in the Bastar forests but
sold by the tribals to traders at very low prices. Another instance I recall was
the support I got for recruiting 3200 teachers for primary schools and successfully
restricting it to residents of Bastar district. On a personal level he was
always affectionate. I recall how he served coffee with relish to his visitors
at Vallabh Bhavan. May God rest his soul in peace. My sincere condolences to
his son and daughter through your columns. R Parasuram |
