Ravi Kumar's comments are well taken to the extent of getting into the IAS. Thereafter majority of the officers toe the line of the political masters or learn to do it, for their own survival. In our country, as every one knows, it is only the individual equations that work & not the systems, unlike in the Western countries. IAS is thriving in an atmosphere of 'genaralist' syndrome, whereas elsewhere in the World, development takes place only with the efforts of the specialists.

Sixth Pay Commission-Why no transparency

Why there is no transparency regarding 6th Pay Commission Report. After all, it is for the benefit of the Government Employees and why they are kept in dark whereas the senior officer definitely know what their pay is going to be. Is this Democracy or what? Shame.

Recently a very senior officer in the ministry of finance had put in his papers. The reason was continuous badgering and lobbying against him by IAS lobby. Poor fellow had to leave the country . Right now he is working as a very senior officer with one of the very developed country.

Ppease don't forget the holy fact that IRS is the only service that scrupulously punishes its officers. Case in point are of Ashok Aggarwal-1985 who is under suspension for more than 10 years & one Gopala-1967 batch officer who retired after being under suspension for more than 20 years. One often wonders, whether justice can be so cruel!

Several Public Sector Undertakings to be revived
