for good governance appears to be hollow unless GOI/State Govt. are able to give
reasonable tenure to top officials to show their performance . Of course one hardly

This
is w.r.t. remarks of Malhotra. He appears to be against female employees. This
is the issue which is not only in CSSS but also in CSS, but everywhere. As regards,
sitting late or coming early in the office, it not always the lower staff but
also the seniors are supposed to share responsibilities. This should be clear
to him, that it is the understanding among personal staff as to how to run the
office of the officer, so always the superiors may not be blamed. The inside fight
in the cadre definitely makes happy other cadres, so better to keep your personal
feelings close to your chest only. After all u have been keeping these secrets
in your heart during the last 25 years.

BHEL
pays 90% interim dividend
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)
has paid an interim dividend of 90 per cent on the enhanced equity capital post-bonus,
for financial year 2007-08 to the Government.In this regard, a cheque of Rs. 298
crore on the equity (67.72%) held by the Government of India was presented in
Delhi on March 21,2008 to Sontosh Mohan Dev Indian Minister for Heavy Industries
and Public Enterprises, by K. Ravi Kumar, CMD, BHEL.Senior officials of the Ministry
and BHEL were also present on the occasion. POWERGRID
pays interim dividend of Rs. 210.45 Crore.
Power Grid Corporation
of India Limited(PGIL) has paid an interim dividend of Rs.176.68 Crore, for the
financial year 2007-08. Dr. R.P. Singh, CMD, POWERGRID handed over the interim
dividend cheque to Indian Minister for Power Sushil Kumar Shinde in the presence
of senior officials of the Ministry of Power & PGIL board members.POWERGRID
has been consistently paying dividend to the Government of India(GOI) for more
than a decade. POWERGRID came out with an IPO in September'07 comprising fresh
issue of 10% of its share capital coupled with a disinvestment of 5% of its share
capital on behalf of GOI. Its shares got listed on October5,'07. With this listing,
about 13.64% of its equity shares of 4208 million are with the public. The company
has close to 11 lac shareholders and 5% of interim dividend on the share capital
is being distributed to all the shareholders existing as on 11.03.2008. The total
interim dividend being distributed is to the tune of Rs.210.45 Crore. 3
POWERGRID projects bag national awards
Three projects of Power Grid
Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) have bagged the prestigious national
awards for meritorious performance instituted by the Government of India (GOI)for
the year 2006-07. POWERGRID's 132 kV Transmission System in North-Eastern region
received the Gold award while Silver awards were conferred on the 220 kV and 400
kV Transmission System in Western Region and the 400 kV D/C Kahalgaon-Patna-Ballia
Transmission Line.Indian Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde presented these awards
to Dr. R. P. Singh, CMD, POWERGRID and Executive Directors of the respective projects
at a function held in Delhi on March 20,2008. Anil Razdan, Secretary (Power) was
also present on the occasion.As many as 21 organisations, generating companies
and transmission companies were honoured on the occasion for excellent performance
shown by them in the respective areas during 2006-07. National Awards to power
utilities for meritorious performance have been instituted by the Ministry of
Power, GoI to inculcate competitive spirit and to motivate the power utilities
to achieve higher levels of performance. Deep
