Murder of ACP Rajbir Singh of Delhi police at the hands of property dealer Vijay Bhardwaj following his reported failure to repay lacs of rupees invested by Rajbir Singh in his real estates business and allegedly threatening messages sent to him as per print and electronic media reports are indicative of messy affairs in police department. How come Delhi police which has sophisticated snooping devices, vast network of informers and could catch/encounter the terrorists at planning stage itself was totally clueless about mega financial dealings of its own high profile decorated officers. And whether it was an isolated case or just a tip of the iceberg can only be guessed at this stage. When police officials have been given vast powers under various laws ,and effective mechanism not in place to ensure that they do not become law unto themselves, such things are bound to happen. Absence of senior officers at the time of cremation and their total silence is also quite intriguing. To bring things under control, Kiran Bedi should be recalled from voluntary retirement and made Commissioner of Delhi police .

Promotion process of DANIPS
The promotional process of DANIPS needs an urgent attention of MHA. The cadre issues need to be addressed urgently to bring sense of justice and respect in the mind of DANIPS officers. They are lagging behind not only to other group b services but also much from danics.if any direct officer of DANIPS is deprived of his first promotion for more thatn 20 years what ever his personlity is, he becomes acutely frustrated and alienated from the system.
S R Rawat
MHA and DANIPS
The enertia of MHA makes DANIPS litigious with no concrete gain bringing entire service cadre management process to a grinding halt. When we ask MHA to break this impasse, they tell us their helplessness citing litigations. this is very cunning answer to escape their failure being exposed. The direct officers of this service do not have a civil list for a decade. Is their any service which have no civil list and who gets benfits if there is no seniority list obviously promotee officers. This is one such glaring example. Is any all India service seniorty list remains supended for a decade because frivilous litigations. This happens with us.

From Maharajah lounge to the Maharajah flight--
(Sanjeev Majupuria-Editor,whispersinthecorridors.com)
From Maharajah lounge to the Maharajah flight. This is how one can sum up his journey on Air India's Nonstop flight AI-101/AI-102 on Delhi-New York & New York -Delhi flights. Though, the flight was introduced on February 8,2008;it continues to gain popularity. It may be stated here that Air India had launched the non-stop flight to New York from Mumbai on August 1,2007.
The Air India is the first Airline in the Indian aviation sector to launch the non stop flight on Delhi-New York & New York -Delhi sector. The 14 hour haul is not as long as it sounds when one hears about it for the first time. The experience of a new level of luxury while travelling on the Boeing 777-200LR (Longer Range) aircraft is worth sharing with high fliers.Boeing 777-200 LR is the most deluxe aircraft in the world at present. One who walks with waves of time can succeed, but in case of this flight it will be no exaggeration to say that those who want to dispose of their official work and return to Delhi or New York can conveniently do so within two days.Only a word of caution is that while aboard flight one must make sure that he sleeps for about six hours(either way).Otherwise, you are going to miss that luxury of sleeping while over flying the North Pole.
The 238-seater aircraft that flies between the Indian capital and the "Big Apple" has eight first class seats, 35 executive class seats & 195 economy class seats. The flight departs from New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport at 0030 hrs (IST) and lands at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport at 0545 hrs. (New York Time). It departs from New York at 1600 hrs. (New York Time) and touches Delhi at 1630 hrs. (IST) the next day.In either cases I found the flight to be quite convenient.
This was best testified by Arun K.Bajoria President "JKTyre"with whom I had the privilege to travel on the long haul from New York to Delhi.Bajoria said "this is my third trip on this sector ever since the flight has been started & I am delighted to see that the flight is evoking a very good response." Replying to a question Arun K.Bajoria said "I have noticed that in every flight number passengers has been increasing."..................................(Print from origin : whispersinthecorridors.com )
Those travelling by Premium Class- First & Executive, can conveniently remain E-connected with the world,as the Air India's Maharajah lounge is equipped with computers with internet. One can have anything from bottled water to beverages besides choicest of whiskey & liquors .There are a variety starters which definitely tickle palates of passengers.Once you are aboard the flight you are ushered into a luxurious environs of the ultra modern aircraft.Claim to fame for flights on this sector other than shortening distance between Delhi & New York, is that a red Carpet welcome is given to passengers of all classes. It varies from Premium class to Economy Class, but the cabin crew pays personal attention to each passenger.Logistics for trip either way were meticulously planned by Air India's Director for Corporate Communication Jitendra Bhargawa,D.S.Kohli Executive Director (ED)Northern Region,Andy Bhatia New York based Area Passenger Sales Manager & Sanjay Sharma Chief Manager Corporate Communication(based in Delhi).

MBE conferred on Agra Architect ..................................(Print from origin : whispersinthecorridors.com ).
Bajrang Bahadur Mathur, popularly known as Baj was awarded Member of British Empire (MBE) by the Queen of England, at Buckingham Palace, London, recently. This is in recognition of his 12 years of service to the community as a Member of the Hillingdon Carers.Baj, along with his wife Sharda, tirelessly served and cared his elderly mother for many years who suffered from Dementia and Parkinson diseases until she died. It is during this time Baj came in contact with Hillingdon Carers, a local charity with a mission to support Carers. He joined the organisation and was its Chairman from 1996 to 2007. Hillingdon Carers provides an integrated, comprehensive and effective service to the Carers through which they receive financial, emotional and practical support. When asked who is a Carer? Baj said that a Carer is a person of any age that takes on the responsibility of looking after persons who are unable to manage their daily life because of illness, disability, special need or frailty. The carers are unpaid irrespective of the hours of care they give. The task of supporting Carers is huge as it is estimated that there are some 6 million Carers in the UK, One in eight persons is a Carer and approximately 1,000 more people become Carers every day.Baj further said that many Carers don't even regard themselves as Carers as they think that they are only caring for their either child, husband, wife, partner, father, mother, friend or a neighbour. These are the hidden Carers in our community who may not be aware of the help and support they provide. The main problem for Carers is that they don't get rest. There are Carers who are looking after relatives 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Many of them don't get proper sleep. Hillingdon Crossroads can be called upon to send a care worker to the house to relieve the Carer for few hours or if needed for the night.Mathur has recently been elected to the Board of Director of Hillingdon Crossroads. This charity is a leading provider of respite to Carers of all age groups and disabilities in their homes. Professionally Baj is a retired Chartered Architect and Town Planner. He has worked with the Harrow Council till his retirement in 1993. He is still a member of the Executive Committee of Harrow Heritage Trust which is an amenity society. The aim of the Trust is to protect, preserve, restore and enhance the land and buildings of historic and architectural interest as well as areas of ecological, scientific and environmental importance. Bajrang Bahadur Mathur, born on January 1,1938 in Saharanpur, educated in Barielly, Agra, Bombay & London. He was in Agra for his professional education during 1956-60 at the School of Architecture and Town planning, which was founded by P.L Sharma, the then retired Chief Architect for the Governments of Uttar Pradesh and Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Although this school does not exist any more, P.L Sharma's legacy lives on through the work of his disciples all over the world including that of Bajrang in the United Kingdom and by Sashi Bhushan Shiromany, Suraj Agarwal and Sharmaji's own son S.P. Sharma in Agra.
