Congress not to project any PM candidate
As the grapevine has it, the Congress party, of which chief is Mrs.Sonia Gandhi - Chairperson of the UPA, is not going to project any incumbent as Prime Ministerial candidate for next year's Lok Sabha polls. A senior Congress leader quipped saying "we do not copy the BJP in projecting anybody as the Prime Minister in waiting." It may be stated that the BJP has projected former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani as its Prime Ministerial candidate.

In the 21st century, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) being headed by Rajnath Singh has launched a high tech campaign to woo electors in the name of its Prime Ministerial candidate, i.e. LK Advani. No values, no morals, no concern for the suffering humanity
A recent report in the US suggests that Americans feel that their media and Hollywood are doing their country in and their country is the worse for it. It is alarming that we in India lap up Hollywood and the American media/ entertainment/ channels and the so called "pop" culture promoted by these people. No values, no morals, no concern for the suffering humanity of the world. Consumption, greed, avarice, materialism, decadence, deviance, divorce, break down of society, marriage and family, stress, drugs, alcohol, crime... that is what the American system consists of. Our own media (or the the rich and the so called famous of this country who run the media)is fast espousing the same as ideals. Do we want to blindly ape such a West? It is time for introspection.

Officers make nasty copmments on other services ?
I find that a lot of officers, probably considering themselves torch bearers of their "own" service make nasty comments about other services on this channel, anonymously and pseudonymously. While there is no harm in a bit of one upmanship indulged in by the IAS vs the IPS and the IRS displayed through write ups to this channel (goes to spice up the contents), seriously, it is all unwarranted. Black sheep can be found uniformly in all Services. Even large black sheep can be found uniformly in all Services (you name any Service and many such can be named who have the honour to belong to that Service, be it the IAS, IPS or IRS) and comments in bad taste should be avoided. A holier than thou approach behoves no one and no service, all are equally black (or white!). No Service is more black than the others howsoever hard it may try to convince itself and the world at large(interesting, this theory of shades of black...this Service has more black sheep and that has less...has anyone done a head count of all the black sheep that they have, last time something of that sort was carried out, though it was not a head count of black sheep but merely to find out the blackest sheep of them all, it was done so in the UP cadre of the IAS, who voted to find out the most corrupt among themselves, no one, no other cadre and no other Service has been able to emulate the UP cadre, not even the judicial element, one must really doff our hats to the UP cadre)?. We may remember that old adage, while pointing fingers at any one else, one's own three fingers actually point back at oneself!
