As the grapevine has it Ambuj Sharma,an IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre is tipped to be Joint Secretary Heavy Industries. He is 1983 batch IAS officer of TamilNadu cadre.
The post fell vacant following departure of Arun Singhal as Chief Vigilance Officer(CVO) in Gas Authority of India Ltd(GAIL),in September 2008.

Arun Kumar Rath, Secretary to Govt. of India, Department of School Education & Literacy, has been awarded the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University, Bhubaneswar.i Rath performed the research under the supervision of Dr. Pritam Singh, Professor Emeritus of MDI, Gurgaon on the topic "Towards Better Corporate Governance: Contributions of Independent Directors to Board functions in Navratna PSUs". The study undertaken over a period of last four years has been hailed by experts as a pioneering piece of research in corporate governance, which is an emerging area of the management sciences. The research is based upon the domain knowledge of Rath in his various assignments in managing central PSUs for last seven years. Earlier Shri Rath has made significant contributions as Joint Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Govt. of India (2000-04) and as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Steel (2004-07) and as Director in five leading central steel PSUs including SAIL and NMDC (2004-07).

Election Commission Website

Websites are supposed to be 24 hours a day 365 days a week available for viewing. Yet there is atleast one important website that since many years sems to functions only during 10 to 5 office hours and only on weekdays- Monday to Friday. This website is of none other than that of the very important Election Commission Of India! There are no updates for months after elections.Even this time the website carried Karnataka Election news material on its press releases/news portion till 15th October. And now when the State elections are taking place the site goes off and on during the daytime and then it is not available during nights and holidays. How do one know about whats happening in ECI if the website in todays age is soooooooo lousy!

Yes, we all should support Raj Thackeray and take his initiative ahead by doing more...

1. We should teach our kids that if he is second in class, don't study harder.. just beat up the student coming first and throw him out of the school

2. Parliament should have only Delhi'ites as it is located in Delhi

3. Prime Minister, President and all other leaders should only be from Delhi

4. No Hindi movie should be made in Bombay. Only Marathi.

5. At every state border, buses, trains, flights should be stopped and staff changed to local men

6. All Maharashtrians working abroad or in other states should be sent back as they are SNATCHING employment from the locals

7. Lord Shiva, Ganesha and Parvati should not be worshiped in our state as they belong to north (Himalayas)

8. Visits to Taj Mahal should be restricted to people from UP only

9. Relief for farmers in Maharashtra should not come from centre because that is the money collected as Tax from the whole of India, so why should it be given to someone in Maharashtra?

10. Let's support Kashmiri militants because they are right in killing and injuring innocent people for the benefit of their state and community..

11. Let's throw all MNCs out of Maharashtra, why should they earn from us? We will open our own Maharashtra Microsoft, MH Pepsi and MH Marutis of the world

12. Let's stop using cell phones, emails, TV, foreign movies and dramas. James Bond should speak Marathi

13. We should be ready to die hungry or buy food at 10 times higher price but should not accept imports from other states

14. We should not allow any industry to be setup in Maharashtra because all machinery comes from outside

15. We should STOP using local trains... Trains are not manufactured by Marathi manoos and the Railway Minister is a Bihari

16. Ensure that all our children are born, grow, live and die without ever stepping out of Maharashtra, then they will become true Marathis.
