1976 batch IAS empanelment meeting now on April 28
? Meeting for the empanelment of 1976 batch IAS officers to the
rank of Secretary in the Government of India is not taking place today. After
getting vigilance clearance, it is now expected to take place on April 28. Why
delay in the appointment of TRAI Chief ? Despite the clearance
of the name of Arun Ramanathan for the post of Chairman TRAI , where is the delay
?.Enquiries revealed that Telecom Minister D Raja is not agreeing on the name
of an honest and upright IAS officer of 1973 batch , Tamil Nadu cadre. The post
has been lying vacant for the last one month. Is India
surrounded from all sides? Well placed sources say that there is
an understanding between ISI (Pakistan) and Taliban which is supported by China
and attacking India from four state border states ie. Punjab , J&K, Rajasthan,
Gujarat. Also Nepal & Bangladesh are there. Half-a-dozen
Governors to be changed ? At least half-a-dozen Governors are expected
to be changed in June after the new Government assumes power at the centre. Who
will be new ITDC or chief? Who will be the new ITDC chief? This
question is hotly being discussed in hospitality & tourism sector? Whether
he will be an IAS or a non-IAS? It will be known by next month end. Will
Sudhir Kumar Jain be JS Power ? Will OSD to Railway Minister Sudhir
Kumar Jain succeed V P Joy as Joint Secretary Power ?. Name of 1982 batch Bihar
cadre IAS officer Jain has been recommended by Laloo Prasad Yadav for the post. Saxena
to be Director General, Railway Staff College In case A. K. Vohra,
Director General of Railway Staff College moves to Bhubaneshwar as General Manager
of the East Coast Railway, A. K. Saxena of Indian Raiways Traffic Service will
be the new Director General at RSC, Vadodara. Cong
would not support Pawar for PM's post All pulls and pressure that
are likely to follow after the general elections for the formation of new government
at the centre notwithstanding, Congress in any case would not support Sharad Pawar
for the post of Prime Minister. Quid pro quo, he once did the same with Ms. Sonia
Gandhi. GOI for modification of Weapon INSAS rifle
Government of India (GOI) wants to modify the existing Weapon INSAS
rifle for better results .Top cops of Ordnance factory, Ishapur are involved in
this activity so that it can be done as soon as possible. 5
Army officers to join BSF as DIGs As many as five DIG level posts
are vacant in Border Security Force(BSF) which may be filled up with officers
of Army background on deputation. A panel of 20 officers was considered out of
which five officers were selected on April 20,2009. Madhup
Tiwari's file moved for IB As the grapevine has it, file about
Madhup Tiwari joining the Intelligence Bureau has been moved again. He is an IPS
officer of the UT cadre who belongs to the 1995 batch. Balwinder
Singh joins as Additional Director CBI Balwinder Singh has taken
over as Additional Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation. He is 1976
batch IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre. Vijayan
charge sheeted. UT Cadre 1982 batch IAS officer B Vijayan has reportedly
been charge sheeted for disobeying the legitimate orders of the Government to
join the Lakshadweep Administration from A&N Islands. It is a different matter
that there are certain officers in the UT cadre who have till date not spent a
single day in a hard posting and some of them for some ingenious reasons or
the other have not left Delhi for around a decade. Vijayan otherwise a brilliant
officer who has spent a lot of time in the North East and other hard postings;
had conveyed his difficulty due to personal family reasons. It is hoped that the
MHA would take action against the hard posting defaulters in the UT cadre. It
is learnt that an RTI in this regard of the number of hard postings of UT cadre
IAS/IPS officers is also pending. Regarding the UT Cadre IPS officers it would
take another page. The jinxed 1990 batch of IAS officers It
seems that the 1990 batch is jinxed again. Earlier for the foreign training also
the 1990 batch missed out going abroad and doing the compulsory training. Now
in the empanelment for Joint Secretary also the batch is jinxed. The decision
to revamp the empanelment procedure using retired officers for the 1990 batch
has now been kept in abeyance indefinitely. Army Officers
to get enhanced salary Administrative orders have been issued for
thousands of officers of the rank of lieutenant colonel and equivalent which will
give these officers an effective pay hike of over Rs 10,000. One

to undergo makeover: Radhika Doraiswamy Indian Post Offices that
bring to memory shabby buildings dumped with filthy records and an often ignorant
and arrogant staff are all set to undergo a complete makeover. Talking to whispersinthecorridors.com,
Secretary (Posts) & Chairman Postal Services Board and Director General India
Post, Ms. Radhika Doraiswamy, said the initiative is to ensure that the post offices
connect with the modern day requirements of the local population be it postal
service, electronic mails, money transfers, financial services or any other assistance.
Ms. Doraiswamy said in the first phase all major post offices in the country
are being modernized with proper infrastructure, furniture, computers and trained
staff. The idea is to integrate different services and make post offices nodal
centre for postal services, financial services, money transfers and bill payments.
When her attention was drawn to the increasing competition the department
was facing from private courier services, she said this is a feature that is applicable
to urban centres in India. Rural India still depends on India Post services to
reach out to its near and dear ones. "Courier services have strengthened
over resolve to improve our services and compete", she added. Citing an example
she said that nearly 80 per cent of the department's revenues are generated from
mail service and money transfer facilities. Moreover entire government mails are
routed through the India Post services. The department is updating its computer
network and hopes to connect all post offices that would facilitate the customers
to keep a track of their posts. Similarly a pilot project is underway to link
financial services offered by the department and introduce core banking facilities.
Once successful, the project would be replicated throughout the country, she added.
This will help the customers to operate their accounts and manage their deposits
whether Fixed or savings or PPF accounts in post offices from anywhere in the
country. The department is also considering a proposal to provide ATM cards to
its customers once the facility becomes operational. What would make the
modern post offices stand apart is the fact that they would be acting as centres
providing assistance to the customers rather than simply being the service providers.
For this post masters and postmen are already being oriented for multi-tasks.
The postman besides simply being a deliverer of posts would be the point-person
who could collect bills, remittances to near ones and take down e-mail messages.
The postmasters would supervise all the activities and assist the staff and customers
as and when required, said Ms. Radhika Doraiswamy. Aaj
Ki Aawaz Loh Purash is bending!!!! He's not made
of loh is the message he's sending!!! Now Advani says in the Kandahar matter
he knew terrorists were to be freed!!!! And now he says on this he disagreed!!!!
He says he did not know Jaswant would be the terrorists escort!!! I'm
sure this many will retort!!!! And tomorrow Loh Purash will say he knew Jaswant
Singh was going along!!!! But did not know he'll hold one of the terrorist's
hand and feels this hand holding was wrong! And now on the Nuclear Deal he
says BJP will respect the Deal!!!!!! How come now 'Deal is good' karr raha
hai Advani feel???? What comes out on the Deal is that for Advani its BJP
first and Nation second!!!! If Nation came first Deal Advani wholeheartedly
karta second!! And Advani says his adjectives on Mohna were not rude!!!!
Many will agree with me that he's been crude!!!! Remember Nikama, Puppet,
subservient
.. what was this???? Now why does Advani want to
give all these insults a miss???? Jaitley says Statesmen do not indulge in
tit for tat!!!! Sorry but Jaitley Ji you are talking through your hat!!!!
BJP must realize that recent State elections were fought under the cloud
of 26 November, Seems this fact BJP simply does not remember!! 26/11
did make people look towards BJP especially in Madhya Pradesh!!! When 'India's
under attack ' was the sandesh!!! If BJP does not do well in Gujarat, MP,
Karantaka and Chattisgarh its goose is cooked!!! And when the elections were
announced BJP doing well in all 4 States it looked!!! Now it seems at least
in two BJP is going to trip!!!! And BJP itself has made its stock dip!!!
Today as it looks it will either be UPA or a Congress supported Third Front!!!!
And Third Front for all you know could pull off this stunt!!! And by
the looks of it Jaya and Maya will decide the next PM!!!!! With the seats
they are expected to net they will be Third Fronts Prime Movers or PM!!!
And this will mean that SP is in for 'dry' days!!!!! For trying to be a bit
too over smart SP pays!!! Brokers are worried about Commies coming to power!!!!
Commies supporting UPA or being part of Third Front Sarkaar will make things
sour!!! And Third Front Government will mean India will be 'down rated as
politically unstable'!!!! Only with UPA or NDA can India get the tag of being
politically stable!!! Confucius says
. Get ready for a power melee
never seen or heard trapeze acts!!!! There could be some logic
and 'gravity' defying pacts!!!!! Bharat Kumar

Whispers is biased Dear Dr Mehrotra I believe you resigned
as an IAS officer from MP cadre and that is the reason why you are so biased in
favour of all IAS and IPS officers particularly those from MP cadre. This is not
fair. Your website became popular because of all civil servants irrespective of
their services. You have also started giving more prominence to CMDs of central
PSUs by posting their meaningless interviews. Akshit Jha ( Dear
Mr Jha,) Thanks for feedback. I did not resign from IAS. Infact, I have
been a Journalist and a Professor since 1961.) Why price rise during elections?
If this is true than why the price of Sugar and all essential commodities
have risen so high in the wake of elections? The Secretary and MD haven't joined
recently. What have they been doing since last six months when even with near
zero percent inflation the price of sugar, milk, rice, wheat, vegetables and most
essential commodities have risen to new heights? We do not expect your esteemed
site to flatter inefficient babudoms who only think that they are most efficient
whereas they are just Koopmandooks, far away from the reality. Mahadev Speed
up allocation of successful candidates I sincerely request the concerned
officers in DOPT to please speed up the allocation to Ministries of successful
candidates who have cleared the SO Departmental examination 2005. Candidates in
other cadres like Railways, MEA, AFHQ have already joined. this is a punishment
for those belonging to the CSS. when the recruitment rules of all cadres are similar,
why the differential treatment. Let the candidates of CSS also take up office
in their respective ministries. this unwanted delay is causing a lot of stress
and tension apart from financial loss to the employees. it is already two and
a half years since the exam was conducted. the situation is very demoralising
for those who have successfully competed and passed the examination. it is requested
that Secretary, DOPT who is in-charge may please look into this and take a decision
as early as possible. it is a humble appeal from all the aggrieved employees.
A Visitor Good Bye Dr Anbumani Doss . . . And Thanks for Good Riddance
!!! A report on our website (April,21,2009) about the ghost of Dr Anbumani
Doss haunting the union Health ministry in Nirman Bhavan, Delhi is 100% correct
! I conducted a Reality Check! Officers and doctors are praying that he should
never return to the ministry to "complete his unfinished agenda"! He
left behind a saga of controversies in all departments of health. A K
