What Bureaucrats think about the formation of next government at the centre?
The general elections are round the corner and the bureaucrats have started making their own assessments as to who would rule the country in the days to come. Whether it will be the Congress, the BJP or the respective fronts - UPA and NDA - lead by these parties. Will it be a third Front that will govern the country? We tried to elicit the views of bureaucrats across the country. They feel …………

To all non-gazetted employees: whom to vote for?
This 6th CPC has left us high and dry as the recommendations are totally in favour of gazetted employees particularly NFSG/US/PPS and above. Apart from excellent pay increase they have been given other benefits like telephone reimbursement, newspaper reimbursement etc. apart from a good Transport Allowance. But in our case we have to bear everything from our pay as probably we are considered that much important for pay but only for work. Nor the present ACP has been defined properly and unless the clause that "hierarchy in grade pay" is removed and substituted with the sentence "headachy in grade pay in their respective designation: this ACP is of no relevance and also nullifies the earlier Two ACPs.
In the circumstances; it is our duty to wholly along with our family vote against this UPA government. Let the officers vote for this government.
Non Gazetted Employees
This is a right choice and to the right person - for his dedicative work for the poorest of the poor children - a great revolution in the elementary education initiated only by Vijaya Kumar sir. I am very much proud about this. This is a big honour to our Tamil Nadu state.

PSE engineers are being seen as cheap dirt.
Even in pay fixation, for selection grade personnel in govt. at basic pay of Rs 14300 till 31.12.05,
new pay as on 1.1.06 was fixed at 45700 i.e. 220% INCREASE in pay fixation.
PSE officers are being denied any such increase.

Non-receipt of pension since Jan, 2008.
This is to draw your kind attention regarding non-receipt of pension amount since January, 2008. I have sent the duly filled bill with necessary documents on 7th Jan., 2009 through Registered post, claiming Rs. 3600/-for the period Jan., 2008 - Dec., 2008.
I, Mrs. Prativa Dipti Chowdhury, am the widow of late Kasinath Chowdhury (then Assistant Manager) who died of an accident in Jhagrakhand Collery in 16.6.1973 while on duty. The monthly pension (Ref No. CGM(HSD)-FM-417) amount of Rs. 300/- received annually, though inadequate by any standard, do help me to meet certain essential necessities. I have been eagerly waiting for the pension and have already sent a reminder on 16.2.2009. Now that I am suffering from a serious hepatic disease, the amount is badly required to support my immediate medical expenses.
Hope the authorities concerned will consider my case sympathetically and do the needful.
Prativa Dipti Chowdhury.

A Work of Art or Steel Globes of Corruption ! ! !
Passing through the AIIMS flyover the other day, I was aghast at the ugly sight of shiny steel globes sticking out like sore thumbs at the grassy slope. Let us call these "steel sprouts "in common parlance. I wish to highlight this seemingly innocuous issue through this website because of its wider reach and a targeted clientele and in the fond hope that it attracts focussed attention of the fossilized Civil Service and also the unscrupulous politicians who were responsible for this monumental disaster in the name of Landscape Art !. These steel sprouts, I suppose, do not have even an iota of artistic or aesthetic merit .On the contrary ,these shiny globes are out of sync with the design and elegance of the otherwise beautiful flyover ! It does not at all relate to the site. No harmony, no consistency! Worse still, it looks more like a "Work of Business" rather than a "Work of Art"! Instead of giving mental and ocular relief to the passerby motorists, these steel sprouts merely distract their attention! Further probing by me with the government agencies concerned, confirmed my worst suspicions. The steel sprouts were installed by the Government of NCT New Delhi without taking the prior and mandatory permission of the Delhi Urban Arts Commission! Further inquiries revealed more startling facts. The sprouts were installed at a prohibitive cost of about Rs four crores with a monthly expenditure of Rs 1.5 lakh (recurring) towards its maintenance. This work of pseudo-Art was executed by a business tycoon who was a Member of Parliament in the dismissed Lok Sabha! This was another case of blatant violations of all norms by unscrupulous politicians abetted by pliable bureaucrats and engineers in the name of Delhi's beautification for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games! Was such criminal waste of public fund by Delhi government, justified during the on-going financial crisis? How were political considerations allowed to over-ride the economic and aesthetic considerations? Even assuming that the magnanimous tycoon, did not charge a single penny from the Delhi Administration for this "Arty disaster" , as was the impression given, was this the only site available for "experimentation" and "business promotion" by a private entrepreneur ? Why were tenders not invited for this work? I urge upon the Delhi Govt. to come out clean and dispel suspicions from the public mind particularly as the General elections are round the corner ! May I urge upon Dr Suresh Mehrotra to invite the views of architects on this website in the matter?
