Woes of IDSE members
Of late, it would seem that there are a lot of remarks by disgruntled members of the IDSE, complaining about the various things which ail them. In the first place, their grievances should properly be addressed by airing them in the correct fora. Proximity to the armed forces makes them want to equate and compare their conditions of service to the military, not keeping in mind, that first of all, the jobs which the military does are dangerous, even at the cost of life, as we see everyday, and also in the recent Mumbai attacks (Maj. Unnikrishnan died a heroes death). Some compensation is naturally necessary. But even this has not happened. Armed forces officers (Lt. Cols) who were previously drawing higher pay than SE's of the IDSE are now in a lower pay band than SE's. So what is the IDSE's complaint? The armed forces are in fact degraded!
In the first place, the IDSE (MES) was created as an auxiliary cadre, to support the armed forces. How can an auxiliary cadre consider itself superior to the service it is created to support? The same holds true for the BRO, the AFHQCS, the IDAS, the IDES, and the DRDO. How are orgs created to support the armed forces considering themselves superior to the organisation which is the reason for their existence? Government should give this some serious thought. Armed forces officers wish their bretheren in all other government services long and successful careers. But please do not try to achieve this at the cost of your brothers in the defence services!

Why is India's response on PAK so sluggish?
Having realised the failure of its coercive diplomacy and the persistent refusal by Pak to accept the authenticity of incontrovertible evidences, India is still busy mobilising world support ! Even the latest evidences provided to Pak on Jan 5,2009 including the DNA profile of Kasab are being contested by their puppet government as they continue to ignore warnings by India, USSR, UK, USA, Australia and several other nations. Even UNSC's resolution has been violated. China's so-called neutrality at this juncture is belligerent to India. Are these grounds not sufficient enough for India to, at least, wage a hot pursuit now on into Pak to demolish all terrorists' infrastructures, instead of waiting for the next terror attack ! Enough of saber-rattling by the PM,FM and HM !It is time to act now and not make noise. If GOI finds itself incapable, then why not out-source this job to Israel, instead?

DDA can't escape its responsibility.
Much has been heard and now seen (even on TV) about the functioning of DDA. But its officials are not willing to accept their fault. This latest housing scam should be fully probed and guilty officials should be punished. Organisations like DDA, MCD, Delhi Police, NDMC should be cleansed at the earliest.

DDA's draw shocking
DDA's draw in December 2008 gave all of us very shocking news. Earlier we were not believe the story told by Delhites that there are attachments of DDA's officers/officials with Property Dealer. It is a game of money and property which has been continuously played by the officers/officials of DDA along with property dealer. We all think that there are big ghotala in complete process of this draw from begining to the end. It is also possible that the form number is preoccupied by property dealer/DDA officers/officials and after that the computer completes this very unfortunate draw. Now, we will not be in a condition to fill up the DDA's form which is worse that Punjab Rajya lottery which have more chance.

CPWD/Dte of Estates:
CPWD is now busy in slowing down the intimation of Type-III quarters in VIP areas like Lodhi Colony, Sarojini Nagar etc., to the Estate Office on the pretext of repairs. Actually they are earning more rent by temporarily giving it on rent. With the present ministers of Urban Development, who are in favour of CPWD, they are enjoying this type of bungling at the cost of poor government employees who are waiting for more than 25 years for allotment. But this illegal scam by CPWD is not new and is going on for years except during the period of Jagmohan who really tightened this department. Now the concerned officials of Urban Development are not interested in pulling this CPWD Department, they have been left scot-free.

Pain & anguish
Kendriya Vidyalaya teachers are highest achievers in the field of education. Students of KV pass percentage for 10 & 12th is highest despite being run by Govt. unlike PSU & other sectors which are always in loss. It seems credit goes to its teaching faculity but despite these achievements it is understood that they are lowest paid in terms of achievements, lowest CL/EL, lowest medical/housing facilities. Transfers to remote places where no facilities exist despite both being Central Govt./PSU/State Government employees. They are at the mercy of clerks as at all the schools the clerical work is also part of their duties as clerks don't work. They are not issued any pay slips and whatever is debited to their account is final. Despite PM's directions that pay & arrears should be disbursed by September 2008, teachers are yet to get arrears as their are no funds and officers at Head quarters and Regional offices have got it three months back. These teachers have maximum working hours and standing classroom teaching leading to thrombosis in legs of teachers above the age of 50 years. Are these teachers working for Armed forces then this work culture should also be applicable to officers working in the Head quarters & Regional offices. Central government. rules are applied on the whims & fancies of the officers and not as a standard set of procedure. We need to help KV teaching community by improving upon their working conditions & better facilities to them by giving them best comfort level to achieve the best and I hope their best is yet to come with a little help for them.

It is a lesson
No matter, what kind of corruption charges were against this young bright officer, I am really saddened by this news. God gives peace to his soul and our thought are with his family. It is also a lesson to young/ not so young officers who fall for temptations of money. Life is too short to be wasted. Dr Goswami had so much to offer.

It is the most tragic death I have ever seen. The simple man who rose to heights in his career had become a role model for many but the nose dive in his fate after LK Advani was tragic. Politicians too will meet the same fate.
