Paltry unaccounted assets
The letter from DGIT, Ahmedabad disclosing some information on what was found in Gujarat raids on realty people precisely proves the point that was made earlier. As many as 240 officials raided 39 premises to recover only Rs. 1.12 crores paltry unaccounted assets and undisclosed income of Rs. 28.60 crores admitted?? This shows poor intelligence and wrong targeting to alert the big fish. Every year thousands of crores black money is generated by realty and builders in two metros alone and the Dept. used 240 officers to find a few crores? The country is being taken for a ride. No wonder the taxes on aam admi have to be increased all the time while the swiss bankers laugh all the way.

Discrimination ?
As you know in central ministries the work of both assistants and UDC are same as per MOP (DOPT). But there is huge difference in pay band and grade pay.
Number of UDCs are doing the same work as an assistant is doing. DOPT says that the post of UDC is a Group C post and Assistant is group B non-gazetted.
Is not a disparity, exploitation and injustice to the UDCs who r woking as UDC and doing the job of Assistant. Government is not making profit by doing so much disparity.
Whether one can go to CAT on that ground.
Please advice me and give legal view.
Your kind help will certainly help a lot of UDC of GoI.

CSS officers are entitled
As per CSS Rules, posts in the Secretariat upto the level of Directors belongs to the CSS. They are born and brought up there. Those who do not belong to CSS but work in the Secretariat like Technocrats, specialists, Doctors, PHDs unwanted advisers and also those form other sevices IAS/IPS/IFS/ Income Tax Economic, Statistical and other chosen ones who forcibly, by hook or crook occupy CSS posts should know that CSS officers are entitled to get certain privileges in the Secretariat for historical reasons and no one has any right to point fingers at them.

It is shocking
It is a shocking news that the security checking made by Continental Air lines on our former president A.PJ Abdul Kalam at Delhi Air Port. It is an insult to the entire people of this great country. Besides this checking was in our own land done by a foreign company. The incident happened in April. No authority has initiate any action before it was brought to notice of Parliament . I think our authorities are the loyal subordinate of Americans even now. The government should immediately ban the service of this airlines from this holy land. If it had happened to an ex-American President in India, definitely the American government would have reacted harshly.

Air India retirement age to be lowered
The lowering of the retirement age will in one stroke dispense with around 12 per cent of the aging workforce of an already overstaffed company, who are squeezing more than 30 percent of the total salary bill of the bankrupt org. Needless to say it is this staff which simply bosses around more and contributes less. Good riddance if the government agrees however the powerful lobby and vested interest groups may force the government to do a turnaround as was done by the previous (weak) outgoing MD in the VRS case of the aged cabin crew. If the VRS had been effected for the same cost AI could have had thrice the number of young cabin crew.
