Aaj
Ki Aawaz This time majority of TV interviews Advani
has given while traveling by air!!! How ironical
.. because in these
interviews he builds castles in air!!!! But Advani off and on lets us peep
into his mind via his body language or statement! Though when he realizes
it and he pumps up his chest or says this is not what he meant!!! Fact is
BJP's cadres are not enthused!!!! And RSS cadres feel by BJP during elections
they are used!!! And then Advani's candidature has taken the air out of the
balloon or gubaara!!!! Though some BJP Leaders say at this juncture there
was no other chaara!!!! Second rung are not ready and Modi would make Allies
run away!!! So Advani was the only choice they say!!! Though I feel
Modi has the capability to enthuse BJP's vote bank!!!! And pull voters who
today stand in the flank!!! I feel had Modi been at the helm BJP would have
crossed the 200 mark!!!! Progressive Hinduvta he could spark!!! Congress's
'wolf cry' that Advani is just Modi's mask has actually done BJP good!!!
Seems Modi's 'vote catching' ability Congress has misunderstood!!! Don't know
why BJP is not responding to Congress's Jai Ho with Bharat Mata ki jai! Jingle
should say ' Bharat Mata ki vijay mein and Bharat-waasiyon ki vijay'!!! Congress
too is being too optimistic!!! Though some say now Sonia is pessimistic!!!
That's because some calculations have gown awry!!!! And Sonia now feels
that for prices Congress should have said sorry!!!! Bottom line
Sarkar will be made by the one who bags Allies!!!! Sorry
.. not bags
but buys!!!! After all Allies are going to drive a hard bargain!!!!
Politics of gain!!! Who will Maya and Jaya join???? Can they be two sides
of the same coin???? A dithery Alliance Sonia will avoid and she'd prefer
to sit it out!!! In such a case she'd prefer indirect power without a doubt!!!
So if she feels Alliance would be standing on sand!!!! She'll extend
to Third Front her supporting hand!!! After all it's expected that Third
Front (including fence sitters) will cross 120!!!!! Don't forget for power
there will be 'joiners' aplenty!!! The calculation that BJP will get 160
is based on BJP doing well in Rajasthan!!! And in UP coming at second sthaan
(position)!!! But in the end States like Gujarat , MP, Karnataka and Chattisgarh
will determine!! Whether BJP will be out or in!!!! Mumbai voters have
shown that they prefer holidaying for a long weekend than voting! Mumbaikars
lackluster turnout the Nation is noting!!!! Weren't these the people that
took to the streets post the 26/11 attack???? Giving the Government for its
inaction flack!!! Now these very people have shown their inaction on voting
day!!!! For a 4 day holiday they've imprisoned themselves for 5 years many
would say!!!! Confucius says
. all the ads for coming out to vote came
to a naught!!!!! Shamelessly holidaying Mumbaikars were caught!!! Bharat

Morality be brought in the government A letter posted on your site
reads as under :" If some sort of morality is brought in the Government like
stoppage of all kinds of misuse of office perks & facilities, telephones and
personal staff (posted in excess against the entitlement), people become sincere
towards their duty and the Ministers/High level official shed their feudalistic
tendencies (which exists even after 60 years of independence); then only things
will start looking brighter and there will be no cause for cribbing." I make
two points here. One, any hare brained hypothesis on any thing under the sun is
exclusive domain of the government officials. Two, any disjointed logic can only
be effectively expressed in officialese and no other form of language. I bet that
the piece of gem came from a present or past government worthy. Caren
Mismanagement government has done The kind of mismanagement this government
has done in issues like household and foodgrain price rise, pay revisions, defence,
infrastructure development, widening of poor and rich gap etc, this congress government
deserves to be rooted out fully and new government needs to be installed having
BJP at the helms of the governance. India does not need a puppet prime minister
like Manmohan Singh. At present, the kind of face lift & development, Narendra
Modi has given to Gujarat, he deserves to be the PM for the development of India.
R B Rakesh No party in India is really secular The Communists
not only live on borrowed ideology, if any, they are also befooling the people.
If UPA government was so bad, why did they support it for almost full term? Any
answer? For all their actions and words they only give one reason i.e. keeping
communal forces out. No political party and politician deserves to be called secular.
Only one thing is common in them - taking the Muslims for a ride. They are a confused
lot. It is only Manmohan Singh versus Karat., nothing else. The most common excuse
for all their actions is that they want to keep communal forces out. No party
is really secular in India. For the politicians, secularism means criticising
BJP and making false promises to the Muslims. All political parties take the Muslims
for a ride. Bishan Sharma Audit should be given more powers I
think audit should be strengthened and given more powers of enforcement so that
the ill doings in revenue department can be brought to light. All concerned citizens
should support. R Vinay It is an eye-opener I read the article
Travails Of Seema Prahari. This article is an eye-opener for those who are still
in the state of intoxicated sleep and doing nothing for the man who is standing
days and nights for maintaining sanctity of the motherland. I think 6CPC has failed
to give due share to BSF. It is a matter of great concern that Seema Prahari is
becoming weaker day by day. I am very annoyed because there is nobody who can
reduce pains and atrocities of Seema Prahari. The persons sitting at higher levels
are least bothered. What to say to them "Log To Bacche Goad Lete Hain, BSF
Mein Toh Baap Goad Liye Hua Hain". Till they are there Seema Prahari will
suffer. Oh God you only can save the poor Seema Prahari. Rajesh An
appeal to director, CBI !!! The Quattrocchi affair is now an infamous
saga of intrigues, falsehood and sycophancy par excellence! Milon Banerji ,it
appears, has no qualms about denigrating the Constitutional position of Attorney
General ,he holds, at present.. Instead of giving an independent ,just and fair
opinion to the CBI ,he acted as per His Master's Voice. The Union Law minister,
a die hard politician, faithfully passed on the buck to the CBI on the plea that
he did not interfere with its autonomy! Can, lies plus damned lies make one Truth?
Yes, of course! At least, so thinks the present Law minister of the present lame-duck
Government! Due to compulsions of real-politik, the CBI (Prosecution wing) sought
two months extension from a Delhi court today( April 30,09) to firm up its stand
on the Interpol's so called ' red-corner notice' , in sync with the approach of,
hopefully, the new Law minister. What next? The new coalition government ! New
faces, new marriages of conveniences with newer hidden agenda ! The Public memory
is invariably short.. However, the 'public interest is permanent'. And so is the
'Civil Service' .It is here that the role of Director ,CBI, the premier investigation
agency of India, assumes importance. His credentials as an honest , straight-forward
IPS officer is well known. I appeal to him to come out clean with his version
of 'Truth' in larger public interest particularly as to why the court was consistently
misled with half-truths. He must also reveal the role of his illustrious predecessor,
who has since been rehabilitated as the Central Information Commissioner, on his
retirement. Quid pro quo deal , if any, should be a matter of investigation? I
know, Ashwini Kumar, CBI Director, has no axe to grind .A word of caution here.
In view of the Model Code of Conduct, let the facts be brought out by CBI Director,
immediately after the General elections but well before the fierce political horse
trading and formation of the new government at the centre. Ashwini Kumar will
surely be worth his salt, as a Civil Servant ! A K Saxena ( A retired civil
servant) TAIL-PIECE Listen to your 'shoe'! I'm mightier than a
pen! Gone are the days, when I would silently lie beneath your feet. I speak now.
Haven't you heard me through cartoons, newspapers, TV discussions, debates etc
these days? For years, you have walked, jumped, or ran on me. You have put
me through indignities by walking over stones, mud and muck (tobacco stains are
the ones I abhor). But now I have found my voice. Do not take me for granted,
I am a deadly weapon now. Whenever the deaf needs to be woken up from stupor,
use me. You may criticize me and my ways, but you can't deny that I am highly
effective. The moment I strike, my voice becomes national headlines. My voice
can disrupt public meetings, conferences, press meetings and shake the hell out
of laid-back people. Credit goes to Iraqi journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi for
giving me my new found status. I was lying low, but he suddenly lifted me from
oblivion into the spotlight, as he hurled me towards none other than the former
US President George Bush - the most powerful man on Earth. Well, I admit I was
nervous, shaken and thinking of the consequences as I went flying towards him.
The then US President dodged me, but Zaidi became an instant hero to many throughout
the world, thousands of whom raised me in demonstration of support. The incident
became a rage, and I, a superstar (lookout for the countless blogs, cartoons,
and articles on me). Gosh, it felt nice to have made such a grand entry.
Well, there was no looking back after that journey from Zaidi's smelly feet to
Bush's head! And now in India, I have become a 'missile of discontent' to say
the least. My stint with stardom in India began when I was hurled towards
the Home Minister P Chidambaram. Jarnail Singh, the angry journalist in a fit
of rage, hurled me towards unsuspecting Chidambaram during a press conference
at the Congress headquarters. Jarnail Singh was fuming over the issue of Jagdish
Tytler being given a clean chit in the 1984 Sikh riots case by the CBI. As the
temperature soared during the conference, Jarnail Singh, in true 'Singh is King'
fashion, took me off from his size 9 feet and before I knew, I was inches away
from the target, who was smiling blankly. I was more than happy over my success,
when Congress asked Tytler not to contest elections. The public blurted, 'it took
a shoe-throwing incident to put forth a point' and I smiled at myself. Another
claim to my stardom was through a 64-year-old retired school principal, who used
me as symbol of attack on India's political system. Rajbal Singh Saharan's son
had lost his job and there was the Congress party lawmaker Naveen Jindal delivering
a happy speech during a rally. How could he tolerate it? The old man tried to
shout but his voice remained subdued, so he thought of speaking through me. I
laughed as I tried to focus on Naveen Jindal, while merrily being thrown at him.
This was followed by my sister's (the slipper) attack at the veteran politician
and prime ministerial candidate, Lal Krishna Advani. He is a man of great stature,
but my sister dislikes his 'communal' undertones. So, she readily became Pawas
Aggarwal's tool of attack, when he aimed her at Advani during a public meeting.
Poor Pawas Agarwal was retorting for being "removed from his post due to
groupism within BJP" and he surely made an impact. I rolled with laughter,
when the usually outspoken Advani, who had challenged the PM for a verbal duel,
took to silence and refused to comment on the embarrassing occurrence. It
is being said that the media is making much of shoe-throwing incidents and giving
it undue coverage that's why such acts are becoming a regular. Whatever,
they say, one can't deny at the enormity of my effect. After blog-wars there will
be shoe-wars. "Flying footwear are now the weapons of mass distraction,"
said a headline in a newspaper. I have become the highest form of protest in the
country. Strict measures are being taken to stop 'shoe-hurling' incidents. I am
on cloud nine! So, I warn you, do not consider me an ineffective little accessory
fit only for your feet. My power is growing by the day. They say, I am being misused,
I say I love to be used in anyway. I do not care about moral or immoral stance;
I am just enjoying being the 'shoe' - a powerful symbol of protest, just as much
of comfort. Contributed by-Anita Saxena |
