CWC achieves yet another record turnover
The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC),of which Managing Director (MD) is B.B.Pattanaik, inspite of an economic slow down affecting the import/export trade and domestic industrial production, achieved yet another record turnover of Rs.849.25 crore during 2008-09 as against Rs.776.23 crore achieved during the preceding year, thus recording a growth of 9.41%. This could be possible due to increase in storage capacity by about 6.50 lakh MT and substantial increase in capacity utilization (occupancy) to 82% as against 73% achieved during previous year, mainly on account of increase in storage of foodgrains and cotton procured by FCI and CCI/NAFED, respectively. Besides, handling of containers at CFSs/ICDs and revenue earned out of container rail transport operations and pest control activities also registered growth. Despite increase in the establishment cost by about 40% due to salary revision and related provisions, CWC could achieve a post tax profit of Rs.110.46 crore during 2008-09. Keeping in view the excellent financial results, CWC has declared dividend at the rate of 30 per cent for the year 2008-09, second time in a row.

Aaj Ki Aaawaz
How very shocking….. YSR son's Jagan buying sympathy for his Dad!!!
They say the deaths reported as 'shock' deaths were actually purchased by YSR's lad!!
Post YSR's death there were reports that more than 100 people died of shock!!!
Deaths that were purchased by Jagan and his flock!!!
Funny point that escaped attention was that in YSR's constituency no one died of shock!!!
Really sentiments Jagan and his flock ne kiye mock!!
It's now being reported that the deaths reported as deaths caused by shock of YSR's death,
Were everyday deaths ….ailments, accidents and hold your breath......!
A mentally ill man was also shown as an YSR besotted death….. deaths bought!!!
To his son Jagan a lesson needs to be taught!!!
Like I've said the man should be kept away from CM's post!!!!!
And haul him up for this ' so many people died because of Papa's death 'boast!!!
As Sonia and Rahul rough it out Gulam Nabhi Azad is enjoying Five Star hospitality!!
The man is a walking talking example of sheer duality!!
He swears he a loyalist and he swears he's on the people's side!!!!
And when the time comes to show this he takes all for a ride!!
Why should Offices of Ministers be redecorated when a new incumbent steps in???
They want to change everything from the furniture right down to the bin!!!
There should a rule that Office décor will be changed periodically … fix the term!!!!
And please eradicate in Mantris this 'I want an Office to my taste' germ!!!
Sharma and Deshmukh are getting their Offices renovated…..not needed!!!!
Such frivolity needs to be weeded (out)!!!
And don't these people know that these Office are temporary for them…camp??
Outer limit is 5 years and shunting can take place before this so why put one's stamp!!!
Sharma created a shindy in a Cabinet Meeting on the overseas daily allowance…he wants more!
Well he should be shifted to some other Ministry if he's so sore!!
In fact he did brag to some of his pals…….. very soon I'll be flying like PM flies!!!!
Seems he's forgotten his past when he sat idly and swatted flies!!
C 2 and C 4 were stoned and Rahul was in C 3……. coincidence!!!!
There has to be more to this stone throwing incidence!!
Either someone Opposition Neta vent this spleen!!!
Because by the Opposition as a hopeless election for itself this Haryana election is being seen!!
Or some Congress Leaders tried in their own way to put a stop to Rahul travelling by train!!!
They are upset as to use comfy modes of transport the order is ….refrain!!!
So in a way they've succeeded as now there is question mark on Rahul travelling by train!!!
The hope is that maybe HM will step in and say to travel by train Rahul should refrain!
Then they too will start using comfy modes of transport!!!
So maybe because of self discomfort to this step some Congress Leaders did resort!!
My feeling is both Mom and son have set an example and other's need to follow!!!!!
Pride and ego all Indians travelling by First and Executive Class need to swallow!!!
Donate the money saved….. try to do it on your own!!!!
Because 'the system's' delivery is faulty and this is well known!!
Try going to drought affected villages and show your solidarity with the drought affected!!
And for aid by Corporates drought affected villages should be selected!!
As Bihar went from bad to worse Laloo lived it up!!!!
As during floods Biharis went hungry on hot hot pakodas he did sup!!!
Now this dolt is advising Sonia to travel by Third Class!!!!!
Mr. Laloo you are in no position to advice and as it is Biharis have already taken your class!!
Come election and Marathi Manoos is back with a bang!!!!
Only when elections come Shiv Sena and MNS for Marathi Manoos apna chest karte hai bang!!
And now Congress has tried to do some chest beating with statue of Shivaji vow!!!
I'm sure Shivaji seeing the situation and that fact they he's being used must have said 'owe'!!
Sena is positioning Udhav as CM..... another Advani kind of candidate!!!
And with Advani kind of result Udhav has a date!!
A little bird says Amar Singh's body is showing signs of rejecting the kidney he's bought!!!
It's a closely guarded secret as to from whom the kidney he got!!!
Maybe the kidney came from a decent guy and Amar's system has proven to be too toxic!!!
And so the kidney in its new environment has started feeling sick!
And then he has ailments 'dime a dozen' and takes a cocktail of medicines!!!!
Payment for direct and indirect sins!!
Confucius says…… don't they say our goodness and badness enters our body's every cell!!!
That is why on our body our actions tell!!
Flash.... Tharoor the twitting twit seems to have decided to resign!!!
What use is it to be a Mantri if one cannot have a life of 'champagne and wine'???
Mantripad without the frills is simply no fun!!!
Do you think to serve Indians or India election Tharoor won???
He's worked at UN where corruption is not considered as something wrong!!!!
And where 'life is literally party and song'!!!
As a Mantri Tharoor expected to live it up but alas drought brought his 'partying' to a stop!!!
His 'hot air' balloon just went 'pop'!!!

Why IPS officers are on deputations on non police duties ?

If there is really a shortage of IPS officers then why a large number of IPS officers are on deputations on non police duties? For instance what is the role of a IPS officer in HRD? Just to be with her/his spouse we send them on deputation and even extend deputation?

How can one be austere?
The new orders for tour issued in line with pay commissions recommendations is a real guzzler. If I am travelling within the city on my vehicle and claim the allowance, it's not admissible but I have to necessarily hire a cab to travel since only reimbursement is permissible under the rules and claim is not admissible.
Previously, as per old orders we were able to get a lumpsum of not much but a maximum of Rs.120/= per day when we were on tour which covered out of pocket expenses and food and people would try to save something of it without any bills/receipts.
Today we are eligible for 750 - 3500 a day but only with bills. So everyone is forced to obtain/manufacture/produce receipts out of thin air and pocket the allowance! so much for austerity. only of old system of a flat rate of say 50% of new rate could be claimed as tour allowance per day without any bills will once again save the government 50% of TA straightaway and also stimulate the government servants save something which is the need of the hour.
Will whispers in the corridors highlight this and help in saving something for the government.?

Corporate Sector should follow TATAs

Austerity measures
Tthe suggestions by Vikas Kumar are worth considering. This government has shown the lead and also taken a few token measures ( economy class travel) , but they need to take hard decisions. Let 4 to 5% of the workforce be sent out on deputation /leave to private sector , international organisations, NGOs. At the same time the Government must look at 56 and other provisions to compulsorily retire the inefficient staff. I am sure only these two efforts will lead to substantive savings for the government

GOI measures are welcome
The recent austerity measures of the GOI are welcome. We could save a lot of expensive cloth if all government servants wear half pants instead of full trousers. This would be a 50% cut and will result in a 50% saving. The women employees can wear the Bombay Marathi fisherwomens half sari with backless choli..Again a 50% saving.

The retirement age should not be increased to 62 as already there is lot of stagnation in every field.
V Raghavan venkatraghavan100563@gmail.com
YES
R L Ahuja rl.ahuja@nic.in
In the interest of the nations's economy, employment generation etc. the retirement age should be continued at 60 only. As already stated, we can always use the services of Senior Officers either on contract or re-employment basis. We have to encourage the youth and welcome the new generation for the better environment and living.
Lakshmi lakshmi15749@yahoo.com
Retirement age should not be increased to 62. It should be decreased to 58 or 55.
Shree Bhagwan bhagwan109@gmail.com
It is my considered view that extending retirement age to 62 is need of the hour today for the following reasons (1) People joining Government service at late age as people finish their education only at 24/26 years of age (2) late marriages now which lead to the peculiar problem of settling children i.e. Government servants are unable to settle their children by the time they retire (3) Due to more latest and modern health facilities there is longevity of age now. (4) Very slow pace of promotion, it is seen that last promotion is hardly enjoyed by any Government servant as he is there only for few months on his last assignment, he contributes too little due to this (5) Last but not the least is services of experienced Government servant can be utilzed for a little longer period. In addition to this I have a small suggestion that in Government of India wherever there is shortage of people and there are time bound projects the service of all those retired people who are ready to contribute on volantary bais on reimbursement of actual transport charges be utilzed. India lacks in NGO Sector altogether.
