On Kalmadi’s name one more blob!!!

Her Royal Excellency Sonia has awoken form her sleep!!
And now to ‘condemn the CWG chori’ kiya hai Sonia ne leap!!

She says anyone found guilty will not be spared!!
However till yesterday despite the revelations she had not cared!!

Kalmadi is a smart cookie and Pawar was his Guru!!!
So he must have taken precautions and then only kee hoyegi chori shurru (start)!!

And then we know how CBI and other Agencies can be pressured to absolve!!
See how Laloo’s DA case CBI did ‘solve’!!

Sonia will say guilty will not be spared and caveat will be added by Manish Tiwari!
He’ll say first ‘diagnose’ the disease and then aaye gi treatment  ki baari (turn)!!

Even in the Lok Sabha Tiwari tried to queer the pitch!!
He tried to show against Kalmadi this was a ‘hunt de witch’!!

M.S. Gill made his reputation take a plunge when he too tried to queer the pitch!!
Tried to show as if the CWG delays were just a minor glitch!!!

The delay has not only caused shoddy workmanship but also made cost rise!!
And what Gill said in Lok Sabha was just a pack of lies!!

Many now feel as CEC he was politically attached!!!!
Whereas it is imperative that from politics CEC should be detached!!

And then his joining Congress showed with which Party he was attached!!!
To the Party he favoured as CEC he latched (on)!!

His shameless grins, guffaws and comments during CWG debate,
As pathetic many do rate!!

US does not want Dow to be put in the dock on Bhopal gassing!!!
Whereas ‘we are free and fair’ all this time Americans have been gassing!!

See how US has reacted to the Bhopal gassing and BP Oil Spill!!
US does not want Dow to pay the fair ‘ Bhopal Gassing bill’!!

Confucius says …..US is even protecting Anderson….. so it is clear!!!
If you are an American or American Corporate ‘ kill at will and you have nothing to fear’!

Adds….. In God they trust but their actions belie this trust!!
US is like a cake that has a wonderful topping but a rotten crust!!

Inspired Sycophancy

I am very sorry to observe this but it seems that your column "Forum" is being utilised for some inspired sycophancy with people praising Rahul Gandhi and asking him to be PM.
The reason is clear as Rahul Gandhi has so far not held any public position nor has he shown any ability worth mentioning. On the other hand,  other than doing PR work by visiting Dalits etc. he has not been able to make any contribution in public life. If his party members are happy with him with regard to the internal working of the party, it is a different matter. But certainly there is no case to say that he should become the PM when many persons much his senior in public life and with capability are there. It is time for the Indian people to grow up from this sycophancy and mai baap mentality. Else we will continue to suffer as now.

An open letter to the CPWD
Respected Head of the CPWD,
New Delhi,

Sir/Madam,

Warm greetings!
I write this for CPWD as an organization. Your web site shows your motto as “For Excellence in Public works”. I must confess that I hold your organization in highest esteem for what a marvels of engineering you have created. Since I have seen only Delhi, I have bouts of admiration for your works in Delhi only. On occasion I pass by beautiful buildings you have built in RK Puram. One of such wonders is called ‘Nivedita Kunj’, it stands adjacent to one private(?) building named ‘Som Vihar’ if I am correct; I am sure people of Som-Vihar must be living with complexion that they could not join Govt. and had privilege to stay in Wonderful place called ‘Nivedita Kunj’. Credit is all yours Sirs! “Excellence in Public Works” indeed.
In Chanakyapuri you have built certain Govt. quarters as well as a building named ‘Community Centre’; (Behind Maurya Sheraton Hotel). I tell you this is what we needed to showcase our feats of achievements to world, in an area where diplomat community stays!
On Curzon road you have built beautiful ‘Transit Hostel’. I salute your aesthetic sense Sir! In the same category I can name ‘Shatri Bhawan’, ‘Udyog Bhawan’ ‘Krishi Bhawan’ as well as ‘Nirman Bhawan’.
Sir I have studied a little bit of history and you know what; an age is judged on the parameters of expansion of sovereign powers, Trade and Economy, works in literature, art and culture as well as buildings. Whenever Independent India will be judged down the ages; your works will be considered. I am sure you have done your best to secure highest place for India.
In R.K. Puram itself there are concrete signposts on side roads, on which another Judgment is painted “Engineers are Builders of Nation!”. Are those installed by yourselves? I Feel it would have been better had Resident Welfare Association paid you ‘tribute’ by installing such Concrete Signposts for what you deserve! Don’t you? Any way we live in age when people are thankless.
By the what stories you tell your grand children once you are retired!

-K.R.
Discrimination in house allotment

Dear Editor Sir, first of all you deserve credit for providing platform to genuine grievances of Government personnel which are otherwise muted in the name of discipline etc. Things are taken as way of life. Comments of Ms. Ritu Sharma on 'Forum' with respect to her experience with Directorate of Estate/CPWD are full of painful satire and expose the way our organizations work. I do not know whether there is any soul left in Directorate of Estates or CPWD who can look within and say honestly with hand on heart whether we people are true or not! Any way I too had experience similar to Ms.Ritu Sharma, though in far- off Kolkata.
You cannot occupy allotted house without the ‘pleasure’ of concerned J.E. and what pleases a J.E the most, probably needs no explanation! Else your house-renovation work will stretch up to three-for months or may be more than that.
When you are given possession certificate of the house you are made to sign, verifying innumerable fixtures installed in the house, most of which will actually be never there. When you pursue installation of the same, the ‘older one’ will be shown as replaced. You get your soap stands, mirrors etc. they get them replaced with non-existent lot.
You will not be give vacation certificate till last when you surrender the house and move to some other city in India. At this stage too you will have to invoke pleasure of J.E. (In my case it took five months)
Corruption does not rob you off money only. It robs you off dignity too. Shame on you CPWD!
-Kushal Singh.

Compromises to serve vested interests

I read with interest and disgust the views of many persons on this platform criticising NR Narainmurthy and opining that his suggestions are not practicable to run government. I don't understand these people why the benign principles of life like honesty and integrity can not be helpful to run a country if the rulers of the country have guts to follow these principles. Afterall in running a company one has to deal with similar pulls, pressure, dilemas as are to be faced in running administration. It’s different matter that while Narainmurthy did not succumb to these pulls and pressures, our rulers and administrators make compromises on daily basis to serve their vested interests.

What a surprise?

Hope NHAI will have better life than now. Chairman is going but leaving culprit managers in NHAI. Very sad Chairman is helpless in removing them.

“Aam aadmi again ditched by the self-seeking MPs!”

This is a human interest story highlighting the exploitation of the Aam aadmi . Watching the Parliamentary proceedings on TV on Food inflation during the ongoing monsoon session raised the morale of the Aam aadmi. How honestly the MPs articulated the agony of the poor. But, the joy was short-lived .The entire debate culminated in the decision to introduce the bill in the current session for salary hike of MPs. It turned out to be a fraud perpetrated on Aam aadmi. Our MPs firmly believe that they are a hardworking lot and therefore should be paid a lot more than what they earn, at present. At present, an MP's salary and perks add up to about Rs 65,000 a month. Besides, they get free travels on both the Indian Railways and by air ( business class ), constituency allowance, daily allowance for signing the Parliament roster, near free electricity of 50,000 units per year, three phones, office and secretarial allowances, etc. Each MP has been provided with a powerful generator at government’s cost to get round the year power. Brand new furniture items are supplied by the CPWD to MPs free of cost upto certain level and at nominal cost beyond the scales. Worse ,the MPs are presently entitled to 40 trips a year to New Delhi from their constituencies with their wives or personal assistants. There is a move to add 12 free trips by air (six two-way tickets to New Delhi and back) for dependent children. They are even seeking allowances for the domestic help that most of them bring along to Delhi. There is thus no doubt that before the current monsoon session ends, the MPs would have voted for themselves another round of freebies. And what about the MPLADS funds to each MP, the fountain head of corruption, in which case the amount is being raised from the existing Rs 2 crores to Rs 5 crores per annum per MP. The unanimity among MPs ,cutting across party lines on pay hike was like a rare celestial event. Have these modern-day Maharajas not surpassed the Princes whose privy purses were scrapped by Madam Indira Gandhi in the name of Social Justice? The poor Aam aadmi remains where he was- - Back to Square One!!! This is how the tax payers’ money is being swallowed by MPs, Ministers , the Minister level functionaries, Commissions ( Liberhan’s like),the CMs and their cohorts

A K SAXENA (A retired civil servant)

Thorough change required

I fully agree with the views that in how many Developed countries, the system of IAS (the country's administrative service system) prevails. The British started it to rule the masses not to serve the masses. How many really feel the S in IAS stands for service. Bihar since long has been sending maximum number of IAS to the country but the state is poorest in India. Why? If we need to see a developed India we have to go for specialized services only. The system of selection needs a thorough change right from the bottom to the top. Fixed responsibility system in the civil service should start, Job security must go. Hire and fire system should be there. If you do not deliver you must leave. For corrupt civil servants a minimum of 10 years of jail rule be prescribed. Unless there are strict laws for economic offenders, these scandals will go on and Government money will always be pilfered.

Harish Kumar

Two things will never change

Two things in our country will never vanish whether everyone becomes victim of that individually i.e casteism and IAS dominated bureaucracy.

TAIL=PIECE

Thank God, none of these Countries are role models for India. I hope and pray that India will never ever  become  any where close to these Countries.
God bless and Save Indians..
