Anderson gives interview to New York Times

Warren Anderson has given an interview to the New York Times on Wednesday.

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Nuclear Civil Liability Bill has been tabled with 18 amendments!!
Or are these like ‘table condiments’????

'At the last minute' seasoning is being undertaken!!!
Or is it to the inadequacies Congress did actually awaken???

Did it awaken??
From its ‘surrender to US slumber’ was it shaken????

Add Bhopal to the ‘surrender slumber’ and it is very clear!!
That US in letter and spirit Congress does fear!!

Anderson not only walked free but was treated like a State Guest!!
My case on Congress’s fear of US with this I rest!!

On this Bill frankly what’s the rush!!!
On the contents of this Bill for long the Government was hush – hush!!

And now it’s in a tearing hurry!!
Is it to please Obama and if this is so then there is reason to worry!!

Last time Mohna met Obama he went with a certificate!!
‘Freed Fuel prices’ the certificate did state!!

If a supplier has erred ….intentional or intentional!!!
The Supplier should pay for the damages and this is abs essential!!

It’s illogical to water down responsibility!!!!
After all the suppliers make a huge mark up for their ‘Nuclear capability’!!

But as US allows Suppliers leeway so Mohna wants to do the same!!!
He’s blindly pro US and this is a crying shame!!

Ex CJI Sabbarwal’s sons landed up with a property they did not bid for!!!
So when ‘ is the law going to knock on ex CJI’s door’????

Look at with what Ahmedi has got away??????
By those sworn to uphold the law ‘in the law was done’ many say!!

Chandigarh’s Administrator Shivraj Patil sleepeth!!!!
And Justice doth weepeth!!

In a hit and run case ‘a rich and powerful girl’ has been able to get away!!
After all as per the rich ‘expensive cars on Indian roads have the right of the way’!!!

Its well known the girl was ‘high’!!!
With a ‘no one drinks so early in the evening’ the IG dismisses her being high as a lie!

Confucius says….. when money floweth Justice sleepeth!!!
In India its been proved wrong ‘ that what one sows one reapeth’!!

Adds..... here if you have money the law tailor makes itself for you!!!
Regularly here this the law does do!!!!

It is pointless

I agree with the view that donating 5 million US dollars as aid to Pakistan by India for flood relief is quite pointless and counter-productive. Dr. Manmohan Singh may have a sentimental attachment to West Punjab where he was born but that does not mean he should be so soft headed. What is to prevent the ISI from using the 5 million US dollars donated by India to fund the Lashkar -e - Toiba for attacking India again? They can then claim that they never funded the attacks as they were funded by India itself. For proof they will show how the money came from India. Did Pakistan even offer a word of sympathy for the Ladakh floods leave apart donating 5 million US dollars? Of course the US and Britain are worried that the Muslim fanatics will gain the upper hand in flood relief....well that is their problem and not ours. If they are so concerned about it then let them cough up the money. The security problems of the US and Britain are not India’s problem.

Why give aid to Pakistan ?

Sometimes the positions taken by our rulers on issues is strange. Here is a country inimical to us, bent upon destroying us and not ready to received our aid in its natural calamity and we are running to the Godfather USA to coax Pakistan to accept our aid. What do we want to prove? That we are greatest humanitarians of the world who love our enemy and feed it who in turn is ready to kick us.

Kudos to Jairam Ramesh

Jairam Ramesh must be congratulated in taking unambiguous stand for environment. He has turned down Vedantas proposal for bauxite plant in the Niyamgiri hills which would have destroyed the environment and displaced tribals. Prior to this he also questioned Navi Mumbai airport and batted for alternative site where land is available. Mr Ramesh has also withhold environment permission to mining proposals in dense jungles of Chhattisgarh. On the other hand he has approved Posco project as the land was not in jungles and tribals were no to be displaced.

Lay down ceiling

Now that the salary hike for MP's is approved, the CTC (cost to country as opposed to cost to company) be worked out and a ceiling should also be laid down after all perks and privileges are monetized. The CTC would probably be about40 to 45 lakhs per annum.
In addition perks such as preferential allotment of plots /flats by housing authorities, petrol pumps and gas agencies, subsidized food ,etc. should be made public. There is a quota for MP'S everywhere which should be made public as such perks are at the cost of the taxpayer and the aam aadmi.
On the other hand illiterate , criminals and goondas can fight elections from prison and win to be MP,s. Should not a minimum level of literacy and non criminal record be the essential qualification . For recruiting even group D employees class10 pass and no polce record is necessary .For our lawmakers should not a higher criteria be laid down?

S Swarup

It is confusing
Apropos the comment "It must be joke", posted on 25 Aug on this site, it must be said that the comment is entirely unclear and garbled, and the posters meaning cannot be understood at all. What joint secretary of the MHA is being equated to Union Minister of State? The members of the Authority apex board are the only ones who have been accorded this status. The Vice Chairman is a retired Chief Of Army Staff, and the members are all eminent persons who have spent their lives in public service, including the DAE, Retired DG's of the Paramilitary forces, former Director General of the Armed forces Medical Service etc. They are all persons who are eminently capable of guiding disaster relief, having dealt with it all their lives. So what is the issue here? Why should they not be accorded MoS status? There is no serving joint secretary on the Board of Members. Please check facts before posting incorrect and nonsensical information. Perhaps the poster would prefer that politicians receive these posts. But they are not equipped to deal with the situation, so why should they be appointed?

CWG Tickets

It is a funny idea to sell CWG tickets in 'black' only. The fact is that even if it is distributed free the crowd at the venue will be negligible. Tell me one event where you expect crowd except the opening and closing ceremony.

Aim was to fail NDMA

The NDMA Act accords cabinet ministers status to Vice Chairman. MHA and NDMA has been at logger heads since its inception. Though Prime Minister, former Home Minister and Ms Sonia Gandhi intervened to sort out matters but MHA responded by adding more posts in its disaster management wing and took over additional responsibilities which including duplicating work of agriculture ministry. Goal was to ensure the failure of NDMA but it survived thanks to praises by the State Cheif Ministers.

P C Sharma

Congratulations to Brahma

I wish him a successful tenure. My request to your website is to give more details about his experience in dealing with elections or similar issues. I would be surprised if hailing from Assam can be the only merit. Subas Pani did elections but is now in Pragati Maidan. Hope this one is a merit based selection.

AN

Vishwanath Anand’s nationality and the babudom

Your web page "Forum" had been replete with boast of CSS Babus and their IAS bosses as to how they control every thing. How right they are is exhibited by the act of a Babu of Shastri Bhawan, who questioned the nationality and Indian-ness of Vishwanath Anand ! CCS Babus are so powerful that they can wash down all the good work of a minister of Kapil's stature by one small act and make him look Pygmy on TV in the public eye.

Their power of inflicting damages can also be seen by the fact that the minister and IAS also do not fail to shower all praises on their nusance and reserve many HAG slots for them just for free!

Jai Ho ! Jai Ho !
Rattan
