SAIL posts Q1 profit after tax (PAT) of Rs. 1177 crore
Notwithstanding sluggish market conditions, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has recorded a sales turnover of Rs. 9,931 crore during April-June (Q1) of the current financial year, showing an increase of nearly 2% over the corresponding period last year (CPLY). SAIL registered profit before tax (PBT) of Rs. 1,749 crore and profit after tax (PAT) of Rs. 1,177 crore, which were respectively 13% and 11.5% lower than CPLY. The company’s profitability was affected by different factors, including sharp input cost escalations and lower volume of sales. The unaudited financial results of SAIL for Q1 were taken on record here today by the company’s Board of Directors. In Q1, SAIL’s cost on employees increased due to additional provision of Rs. 299 crore towards employee-related benefits, compared to net reversal of Rs. 199 crore in CPLY towards provision for revision of salaries & wages. In addition, the adverse impact of increase in prices of inputs such as coal, ferro-alloys, nickel, etc., during Q1 amounted to Rs. 556 crore (Rs. 368 crore on account of imported coking coal alone). These factors were, however, partially neutralised by better product-mix, higher production of special/value-added steel items and savings achieved through management initiatives. SAIL plants produced best-ever 1.18 million tonnes (MT) of special/value-added products during Q1, registering a growth of 3% over CPLY.

He also introduced e-marketing of coal, later adopted by all coal companies, that provides transparent access to coal for all consumers and enables CIL to internalize premium exceeding Rs 2,000 crores annually which, earlier was mopped up by middlemen.

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Food grains rot!!!
Not even an explanation is sought!!

FCI needs an overhaul!!!
But to do this Government lacks the will and gall!!

FCI’s procurement is riddled with corruption!!!!
And under Pawar there has literally been in FCI corruption mein eruption!!

Of the stocks that FCI holds 20% are not fit even for animal feed!!!
So on Nation’s food stocks down the rosy path hum ko Sarkaar karti hai lead!!

Godowns meant to store food grains are used to store booze!!!
To pilferage a huge portion FCI does loose!!!

And all this takes place with the connivance of Officials of FCI!!!
Food Corruption in India is how we should decipher FCI!!

Good one…Mere Desh ki darti sonaa uggle uggle heere moti… Pawar’s loves this song!
And we all know to whom this sonaa, heere , moti do actually belong!!

Today blackmarketeers have Pawar’s photos on their walls!!!
Pawar ko ‘ann daata’ practically every blackmarketeer calls!!

And in the end it will be Congress that will ‘foot the bill’!!!
Because though this is UPA Public considers it to be a Congress Sarkaar still!!

Rahul nowadays wants to be out of sight and out of mind!!
Nowhere in the news Rahul ko you find!!

If he comes into the glare he will have to answer for the rocketing inflation!!!
And so he prefers to be ‘out of station’!!

It is a tactical move!!!
And Mummy ne apne aap kiya hai yeh move approve!!

Otherwise at a time when the poor face rocketing prices why is Rahul silent????
To support the Aam Aadmi his voice he should have lent!!

At present he is in Italy as his Grandma is unwell!!
Hope he keeps in mind that back home multitudes of Grannies everyday face hell!

Grannies who painfully see their grandkids forced to eat less!!!
As kitchen budgets are under extreme stress!!

CWG purchases have been made at prices that were hugely inflated!
And then they say on purpose delays in many activities were created!!

And do remember Kalmadi is an ex Pawar stooge or chela!!!
And like Pawar is doing to the Ministries he holds CWG ko Kalmadi ne pella (do in)!!

Confucius says .....Kalmadi has learnt the art of hay making from The Master!!!
In ghoos making Pawar is The Master Blaster!!

Flash....... UPA and Opposition on price rise issue are working on a compromise!!
UPA will say its noted Opposition's demand and will work to contain price rise!

Opposition will say ' our victory as we made our point'!!
And UPA will say Opposition lacks constructiveness and this does disappoint!!

Laloo will make a joke of all this!!
To clown about an opportunity he does not miss!!

In the end the poor would have been left to their own to face inflation ki maar!!!
With Netas it is 'heads they win and tails means Public ki haar'!!

Institute an impartial inquiry into CWG wealth

From 3000 Crores estimate to a whopping 40,000 Crores of tax payer’s money. How much money the eternal Indian Olympic association President Kalmadi and his party made in the Delhi CWG Games only an impartial enquiry (not CBI) can reveal. Other than bringing such mega events to India (for obvious reasons) Kalmadi has done little to improve sports in India. He has now put his foot into Hockey with his Hockey India and trying to capture Hockey. State associations are deliberately split and legal battles are going on. Priya Ranjan Das Munshi sat on the destiny of India's most popular game, foot-ball for more than a decade and brought it to the lowest levels. Now it is the turn of Praful Patil. Once Asian Champions and quarter finalists in Olympics are now getting beaten by countries like Maldives! What is the rationale in spending more than Rs.40000 Crores on CWG when we can not provide even minimum grass turfs for hockey, our national game? India's sports will improve only if these self serving politicians are kicked out of sports' arena.

Mehangai dayan khae jaat hae !

This government has become a government of Pappu’s. In advertisement campaign before election dates, the Election Commissioner says to public, come vote do not become like Pappu by staying at home. When people come to vote they get government of Pappus. After win this very government rewards the biggest Pappus & distributes them very important Ministries & other good ones assigned Party work. When selection & continuation of Ministers is based on who is collecting highest amount & contributing to Party treasury then what can common man expect. Except for 4 or 5 efficient Ministers who happen to be competent it is sorry to say that Pappu Manmohan Singh is heading a Ministry of corrupt, inefficient self seeking Pappus. Mahangai dayan khai jaat hae public ko but our Pappus in the government are not bothered. If they are not concerned about public then for what they are there? we want positive action. it is difficult to make both ends meet. To whom can common people go to for praying to safeguard their interest? Soniaji please come to our rescue, these Pappus have let us down.

Manhgayee bhaag gai (prices have come down)

Why is there so much hullabaloo about prices? Our PM & FM & Food Minister have all assured us that prices have fallen down and so we must trust them. They also assure us that prices will further soften.
We must believe this also. Those wanting proof for themselves can check up from the venues of official meetings, including those on price rise etc. Some media specialists have already done so. I would only summarize their research-- in hotels like Hyatt, Oberio, Taj, Ashoka, Moti mahal etc prices of all listed items have come down by 5 to 10%. What more people want? I also did a short run and found the decline in prices genuine. It varies from vegetarian to non-vegetarian items. Since I prefer vegetarian dishes from the southern parts of the country, my thorough check up ended there. The prices have certainly registered visible decline, since dal forms the staple alongwith rice in these dishes. The only thing was that the Idli has shrunken a bit to half its usual size, like the purchasing power of the aam aadmi. Unless the media chooses to be non-vegetarian in their observations, this price decline is for genuine and even the aam aadmi could visit these places, because the food here is good, conditions hygienic and prices reasonable!!!

Who will police the police ?

Premier investigating agency of India is Investigating the Madhu Koda episode (Jharkhand EX CM). The investigating officers in Delhi are investigating all the mining rights allotted by Mr. Madhu Koda running into hundreds. It is learnt that the officers are openly harassing the businessman and extorting huge sums of money from each of them. God save this country if anti corruption body is so much steeped in corruption. I hope you will have the courage to publish this as one of the persons known to me has been at receiving end.

An antinational statement indeed !

The comments of Mani Shankar Iyer betray his frustration of not holding any position of power. Otherwise no citizen of the country would have made such an antinational statement. in fact it would be the saddest day for the country if the games are not held successfully and the entire country would have to hang their heads in shame.if iyer is happy to celebrate a tragedy which may befall on his motherland he would be celebrating a similar fate of his mother. the congress party should immediately throw him out of the Rajya Sabha as he has no right to feed upon the money of the taxpayers of this country. Let me add that Suresh Kalmadi and his gang of thugs needs to be severely punished for the mess they have landed the country in.
KIB
It’s his frustration

I fully agree that MS Iyer's statement is anti national. It is in a very bad taste and it cannot be expected at least from a retired un-civilized civil servant. As an Indian, we should all pray for the success of the CW Games. I am sure Iyer is using this language due to his frustration as he could not get a berth in the cabinet this time or he could not get any powerful in the Government in-spite of his all out efforts.

Rotting Foodgrains

On one hand millions in this country sleep without food, on the other hand, Thousands of ton wheat/paddy is rotten in FCI godowns every year. FCI and as a controlling organisation Food Ministry is responsible for this mess. Why FCI can't keep foodgrains safe and Food Ministry do effective monitoring. This, reportedly, happens every year. This is criminal neglect on the part of FCI.... Guilty staff must be brought to book at once. Not only take drastic action against these people but put the guilty people behind bars pending enquiry.... Let public know what action has been taken against these negligent employees.... If you can't keep extra buck why not distribute it through PDS. Wheat Flour is being sold in open market @ Rs. 20 per KG. Even Government is selling it @ Rs. 13.9 per KG. Why not sell the excess quantity in the open market. This will, on one hand benefit the masses, on the other hand it will cut losses. Build pucca shelters to store Foodgrains. Don't let grains rot in the open.... Scores of food ministry officials might be reading my comments. Can someone from Food Ministry/FCI make the things clear please?

Ours is indeed a soft state

I have gone through all the 16 reports. If these are correct then I am convinced that ours is indeed a soft state and enforcement agencies are just lapdogs.

Posting & transfers should not be clandestine

RFD document of Ministry should also take cognizance of committed efforts made by it in safeguarding the interests of its fleet of workers. Posting and transfers should no more remain clandestine. M/o Statistics & Programme Implementation unfortunately has been following the policy \"Show me the person I will show you the Rule\" in handling transfer requests of various ISS officers posted in different parts of the Country. New Secretary has to make his presence felt by stopping any caste-based or region based favouritism in such matters. I wish PMO should include human resource satisfaction also as a factor for effective monitoring of RFD.

All the objectives and mission of Kendriya Vidyalayas have been thrown away by the Officers, Principals and Staff of Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools who miss no opportunity to misappropriate government funds for their personal means, and fabricate accounts."There is blatant misuse of Tax Payers Money by the authorities of Kendriya Vidylaya Schools and Sangathan throughout the country.
If a detailed audit is conducted by the Officers of CAG, lot of skeletons will tumble out of cupboards of the Authorities of Kendriya Vidyalaya’s whose primary motto is to gain whatever possible, by misusing their powers and Children’s Education is the least of their concerns.  The Present Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, who is Incidentally from the Accounts Service should not find it difficult to see the misappropriations going right under his nose, if only he takes a little interest and orders a detailed enquiry.
