Aaj
Ki Aawaz From being the unofficial Boss of UPA
now Sonia is once again the official one! Status quo when it comes to her son!!! He
remains the PM in waiting!!! You can say the PMs post hes still
dating!!! And by the looks of it for this term of UPA PM's post he
will continue to date!!! Though there is some positioning of him taking the
next logical step of late!! After 62 years a basic right which is RTE has been
born!!! To make it a reality expenditure by Sarkaar will have to be borne!! Another
basic right ....Right to Food is stuck because of differences on who is poor!!! So
maybe a team of SC Judges and Netas will embark on a fact finding tour!! To
define poor they will spend crores on travel and stay!!!! And funnily for this
in a way the poor 'or the ones defined' will pay!! The past month has been
traumatic for Congress!!! Congress has been in stress!!! It started
with the Womens Bill and then the Nuke Civil Liability Bill!! Going has
been uphill!! The Women's Bill was taken up in a tearing hurry and caused a
unnecessary flurry! The Civil Nuke Liability Bill was the real worry!!! Media
may be making a big hullabaloo about the Congress Bachchan fight! But on the
importance of this issue on the part of the Media theres been oversight! This
Congress Bachchan fight was only on the minds of 2% of this great Nation!! 98%
had on their minds inflation!!! On TV, blogs and twits this fight
was being fought!! 98% were more concerned about prices, jobs and its
getting too hot!! The real India does not bother about Congress and
Bachchan ki ladai!!! They have more serious issues like aaj kya ghar
mein biwi ne daal hai chadhayee(cook)!! From being a daily
fare now Dal are become a luxury for most!!! Aaj ghar mein Dal banni
hai is the new boast!! The Prannoys and Rajdeeps think they
have the peoples pulse in their hand!!! Ostriches with their heads in
sand!!! These Baba Logh TV Channels feel they run the Nation!!!!! 'IBN effect'
or 'NDTV effect' they announce grandiosely with elation!! As China
spends on infrastructure India is still in planning mode!!!! Its like China
is progressing by air and India is stuck on the road!! Politics and
corruption have bogged India down!!! And overseas investors say this afflicts
all who are colored brown!! Yellow skinned do not have these maladies!!!! Long
time back they got the remedies!!! In China corruption is punishable
with death!!! And as we all know no sane man would put money above breath!!! Politics
makes our Sarkaar do strange things
take the golden quadrilateral!!! It
was taken to be a BJP project so UPA knocked it down lateral!!! Tiger
Woods is to come back to golf
he is admired by ever US male!! And
is on the wish list of every US female!! This is after his sex life
was revealed!! Though now he says from his sex caused injury he
has healed!! He shoots ten under on the course and 12 over in bed!!! Many
would want to know by his dietician what is he being fed!! Confucius
says
..Or like they say here in India what chakki aata does he eat!!! That
his game is so hot and he is always on heat!! Bharat Kumar <aaj_ki_aawaz@yahoo.com

penalise group A officers... Those joining in group A are most educated
and retire in SAG grade or above.. i.e. at a salary of Rs. 67,000+10,000GP+35%
D.A. i.e. Rs. 106,000 pm. After 33 years of service, Gratuity works out to
be Rs. 106000*33*15/26 = Rs. 20 lakhs. But he is given only Rs. 10 lakhs. i.e.
less than half of his entitlement. No other employees suffer such a heavy cut. Mani Adding
salt to injury I fully agree. This idea of granting non functional upgradation
to Gr A officers should have been linked with the SAG which IAS officers are getting
in various states else it will take longer than functional promotion .Nowadays,
most Gr A services are lagging 6 to 8 years behind and this funny decision will
add salt to injury. I dont understand why the government wants to keep all
other services inferior by almost a decade to the IAS whereas the maximum period
is two years only ? Neeraj "Punjab & Sind Bank Zindabaad"!!! A

Read A lady Canadian libertarian wrote a lot of letters to the government,
complaining about the treatment of captive insurgents (terrorists) being held
in Afghanistan National Correctional System facilities. She received the following
reply:
National Defence Headquarters Major Gen George R. Pearkes
Bldg, 15 NT 101 Colonel By Drive Ottawa , ON K1A 0K2 Canada Dear
Concerned Citizen, Thank you for your recent letter expressing your profound
concern of treatment of the Taliban and Al Qaeda terrorists captured by Canadian
Forces who were subsequently transferred to the Afghanistan Government and are
currently being held by Afghan officials in Afghanistan National Correctional
System facilities. Our administration takes these matters seriously and your
opinions were heard loud and clear here in Ottawa. You will be pleased to learn,
thanks to the concerns of citizens like yourself; we are creating a new department
here at the Department of National Defense, to be called 'Liberals Accept Responsibility
for Killers' program, or L.A.R.K. for short. In accordance with the guidelines
of this new program, we have decided to divert one terrorist and place him in
your personal care. Your personal detainee has been selected and is scheduled
for transportation under heavily armed guard to your residence in Toronto next
Monday. Ali Mohammed Ahmed bin Mahmud (you can just call him Ahmed) is to be cared
for pursuant to the standards you personally demanded in your letter of complaint.
It will likely be necessary for you to hire some assistant caretakers. We will
conduct weekly inspections to ensure that your standards of care for Ahmed are
commensurate with those you so strongly recommend in your letter. Although
Ahmed is a sociopath and extremely violent, we hope that your sensitivity to what
you described as his 'attitudinal problem' will help him overcome these character
flaws. Perhaps you are correct in describing these problems as mere cultural differences.
We understand that you plan to offer counseling and home schooling. Your adopted
terrorist is extremely proficient in hand-to-hand combat and can extinguish human
life with such simple items as a pencil or nail clippers. We advise that you do
not ask him to demonstrate these skills at your next yoga group. He is also expert
at making a wide variety of explosive devices from common household products,
so you may wish to keep those items locked up, unless (in your opinion) this might
offend him. Ahmed will not wish to interact with you or your daughters (except
sexually) since he views females as a subhuman form of property. This is a particularly
sensitive subject for him and he has been known to show violent tendencies around
women who fail to comply with the new dress code that he will recommend as more
appropriate attire. I'm sure you will come to enjoy the anonymity offered by the
burka over time. Just remember that it is all part of 'respecting his culture
and religious beliefs' as described in your letter. Thanks again for your
concern. We truly appreciate it when folks like you keep us informed of the proper
way to do our job and care for our fellow man. You take good care of Ahmed and
remember, we'll be watching. Good luck and God bless you. Cordially, Gordon
O'Connor Minister of National Defense Senior Army officers dont
deserve free ration Free rations are being given to army officers all
over the country including Delhi. Army officers also have the use of jawans as
cooks and servants all over India. Some jawans have only seen service washing
their bosss wives saris. Free rations should only be given to jawans who
are low paid , not to the officers who are well paid. Also jawans should not be
provided to army officers for domestic duties. For this purpose army officers
can afford to employ servants like anyone else. To say that an army officer cannot
put on his clothes and uniform (the ostensible reason for providing them with
orderlies) without the help of orderlies is sheer nonsense. And if an army officer
cannot wear his own clothes by himself, something we learnt to do when we were
7 years old, then how can they be relied upon to protect the country from invasion
in times of war? Neither the Navy nor the Air Force provide orderlies to their
officers to help them to wear their uniforms. If we are seeing so many cases of
mutinies and suicides among the troops these days, wrongly called fragging by
the army brass, it is because there is a widening gap between the officers and
the jawans these days. The army officer of today lacks the class and committment
to troops welfare under him, unlike before. If the British, inspite of being hated
foreigners, could command the loyalty of Indian troops even to the extent of using
Garhwal Rifles troops to mow down civillians in Jallianwala Bagh , it was because
,after 1857,they were always close to their troops and genuinely cared for them.
Todays officer class is far more selfish and self-centered than previously and
therefore you have army officers obsessed with pay-scales , promotions and postings,
without caring for jawans welfare at all. Imagine the plight of an army jawan
who retires in his thirties to return to his village to see his land already grabbed
by someone else in his abscence. His pension is a pittance and he has to support
a family. He deserves free rations, not our overfed brigadiers and generals. D
Choudhury Increase IT interface to reduce corruption Another
simple solution to the reduce corruption in the government would be to increase
the IT interface. All public services be it driving license, ration card, electricity
connection, gas connection, passports filing of FIR etc should be IT based and
human interface be reduced to minimum. A timeline for sanction of each be fixed
and concerned official shall have to explain for pending applications. Even police
verification status should be monitored on-line and concerned policewallah shall
have to explain reasons for delay in verifying details of the applicants wherever
required. Some states like Delhi and HP have already taken some steps towards
this and a close monitoring of this shall help curb corruption in public services
to a large extent. Second level of corruption where public is affected most
is where too many discretions are vested with a government authority. experience
is that most of the time these discretions are exploited and corrupt practices
follow. Therefore every department of government be directed to review the discretions
given at different levels and work out the possibilities of reducing/removing
the same particularly in taxation departments both central and states which are
hub of corruption. Simplification of tax laws and reinforcing the enforcement
systems would help to reduce corruption to a large extent in the taxation departments
this in-turn would kill the transfer posting industry. Another major corruption
level is award of contracts and even the e-procurement has not been able to
put stoppage to this corruption as criteria are manipulated to favour specific
bidders. however while continuing the e-procurement and strengthening the same
a third party quality checks. Tender committees shall invariably have an outside
member to be taken by computerized draw from a list of prominent citizens maintained
by every department. MB |
