A major bureaucratic reshuffle in the Government of India, as expected, did not take place on Saturday. Now these changes are expected to take place after the current session of Parliament.

Shah appointed Member-Secretary

Rajiv Ratan Shah who superannuated on April 30 has been appointed Member-Secretary of the Planning Commission. He is 1967 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

The outgoing Secretary Home in the Government of India, Dhirendra Singh, is now out of the race for the post of Member Union Public Service Commission. He is 1968 batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre.

Roy Paul is Member UPSC !

Name of former Civil Aviation Secretary, K Roy Paul, has been cleared for the post of Member of Union Public Service Commission. He is retired 1967 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre.

Deputation tenure of Chopra extended

Deputation tenure of Sanjeev Chopra has been extended. West Bengal cadre 1985 batch IAS officer Chopra is currently on deputation to the Uttaranchal Government.

Neera Tyagi Yadav is CS of Uttar Pradesh

The senior-most IAS officer at World Bank, Keshav Saran Verma, is reported to have been asked by the Government of India to report back within 15 days or be " deemed resigned". 1976 batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer, Verma, has been on deputation since October 1997.

Ashish Ranjan Sinha is DGP of Bihar

Ashish Ranjan Sinha, IPS (1972) has been appointed the Director-General of Police, Bihar. Prior to this appointment, he was Director-General, Cabinet (Vigilance) Department (IB), Govt of Bihar. Highly acclaimed and a popular officer, Sinha has a wide field experience especially of the Extremists' hit areas of Bihar and Jharkhand. He is the youngest ever State DGP of Bihar.
