Role of P&T Accounts and Finance to be redefined !

The role of Indian P&T accounts and Finance is slated to be redefined by the Government in the wake of absorption process being undertaken in BSNL and MTNL of Group A officers. It is learnt that Suresh Pachauri, Minister of State for Personnel, has assured to look into the issues related to the service in connection with the assurance given by the PMO few years ago. The PMO had called a meeting of Committee of Secretaries to look into the future role of the Service. The Committee had recommended that the role of the Service be redefined and their financial expertise be utilised in the government apart from utilisation in Deptt of Telecom and Deptt of Post since it is the only finance service in the Government.

Why is SBI mum on losses ?

State bank of Indore is these days patting it's own back by issuing advertisements about the awards it has won from FIEO etc. but is, intriguingly enough, silent on the losses it had incurred during the financial year that has just ended. The bank has, shockingly enough, shown a steep decline in it's profit by over Rs.93 crore during the said period despite being the lead bank of the state having it's Head Quarters in its commercial capital.
