Director is K.L. Dhingra has achieved highest ever net profit of Rs. 366.28 crore
for the period ended December 31 , 2009 as compared to Rs. 282.01 crore
posted in the same period of last fiscal year, indicating a growth of 29.88 per
cent.During the period, company has prepaid its high cost of borrowing to the
tune of Rs. 2678 crore, thus reducing its cost of borrowing substantially. HUDCO,
during this period of the current financial year, raised resources including loans
from Commercial Banks at an incremental rate which is less by 3.48 % as
compared to corresponding period of previous fiscal year. This has been possible
because of improvement in the credit ratings of the short term/ long term instruments
of the Company. In turn, HUDCO has passed on the benefit of reduced cost in terms
of its lower interest rates. Recently, HUDCO had reduced its lending
rates for Social Housing Sector covering Economically Weaker Section
(EWS) and Low Income Group (LIG) which stands
at 7% - 7.5% .
Pramod Kumar Rastogi appointed
Member, TDSAT Pramod Kumar Rastogi, a 1974 batch IAS officer
of Andhra Pradesh cadre has been appointed as new Member in the Telecom Disputes
Settlement And Appellate Tribunal(TDSAT). The slo fell vacant ever since incumbent
Member Sarma went to TRAI. Rastogi had retired as Secretary Steel in GOI on September
30, 2009 . (We said this on August 27, 2009) Varman
promoted as CCIT PK Varman, Commissioner of Income Tax (Retd)
has been , in compliance of the order of CAT - Guwahati bench, has been promoted
to the grade of CCIT w.e.f. Jan 1, 2007, with consequential benefits. Finality
of the order of the CIC On the question of reasonableness of fee
demanded by the CPIO, the Commission noted that the complainant has requested
for certified copies of documents which run into hundreds of pages. The Commission
agreed with the CPIO that a responsible officer has to carefully tally, compare
the documents with the originals and certify these only thereafter, and certify,
lest he errs into providing wrong certification. The certifying officer has to
suspend his other work to attend to this RTI-request of the complainant, and hence
a charge of Rs. 50/- per page as cost for certifying the hundreds of pages of
information, is not unreasonable [Appeal No. CIC/AT/C/2007/00282 - Shri S. P.
Goyal v. CIT -XII & Anr.]. The applicant felt that the above decision constitutes
an error in law as it contravenes fee rules and sought an opinion from
the Prime Ministers Office regarding the decision and the issue went to
CIC in second appeal. The Commission ruled that the decision of the CIC is binding.
Comments The appropriate method to seek redress against an
order of the Commission is either by Writ before the High Court, or by seeking
a review by the Commission itself. [Shri S. P. Goyal v. PMO in Appeal

Aaj
Ki Aawaz Theres been a bomb blast in Pune and
at least 10 people have been killed! Confidence in the terror organizations
we have instilled!! They feel we are a Country of wimps who lump
down attack after attack!! Guts we simply lack!! Sharukh My
name is Khan (MNIK) what do you have to say??? Bat and ball with the
Pakis you so desperately wanted to play!! The aim of this blast
is to create a terror scare overseas!!! So that advisories are issued
avoid going to India please!! Its timed for the IPL
and they want to create a scare!! Pakis has issued 'IPL will not take place
without us dare'!! The message
. we can strike at will so
IPL overseas players beware!!! Do not come if for your life you do care!
Like I said they spray us with bullets and blast us!!! And
we have Sharukh who on Paki players being ignored in IPL creates a fuss!
Theres a new confidence or you can say a pep in the step
off the terror lot!!! A big boost from Sharukhs stand and MNIK fracas
theyve got!! First attack in 14 months is how
PCs trying to deflect any blame!!! He says Maha Sarkaar ignored 'threat
advisories' and says this is a crying shame!! Arre PC Maha Sarkaar
has been busy with MNIK as orders came from the very top! Order from top was
crisp and clear all anti MNIK activities ko karro stop!!
And Chavan knew if this was not done hed be shunted out!! In fact
some say from Delhi he got a shout!! Cops MNIK preoccupation
must have been an encouraging sign for the terror lot! They must have felt
what an opportunity to strike weve got!!! As
now Diggy is Congresss Investigation expert he should be deputed to Poona!!!
And with him as usual hell be carrying his verbal whitewash choona!!
Hell apply this choona so as to endear Congress to the majority
minority vote bank! Now Project Woo right at the very top Congress does rank!!
DBI or Diggy Bureau of Investigation investigates and whitewashes
in one go!!! Its a highly skilled job say those who are in the know!!
Maybe Diggy will pin the blame of this blast on Maoists or Khalistanis!!!
Hell do everything so at to deflect blame from Pakistanis!
Maybe the Right to Food act could be tweaked on account of Project Woo!! Something
to bolster its Project Woo Congress will do!! Maybe Mohna will
say majority minority should get the first right to food!! To
get the majority minority in the right mood!! Im
not against the majority minority it is this appeasement that infuriates!! A
wedge in Society this creates!! I admire a true Muslims belief
and abidance of Islam! To them I always do a salaam!! Its
these guys who have twisted Islam to give it an Aurangzeb look!! Who
twist and turn what is written in the Holy Book! Like a Kafir is
one who does not believe in God but its been given a slant! Kafir is one who
to follow Islam says I cant!! Jehad is a war
that every human fights within!!! Its a fight so as not to commit any
sin!! Its every Indians right to celebrate Valentines
Day!!! Its every Indians right to educate Indians within
boundaries of our culture please stay! Rather than adopting
aggressiveness to send the message why not educate!! Why not position educators
at every Mall or Archie's Showroom gate???? Valentine Day like
Pa and Ma Days is the creation of a Card Company!!! Huge amount of consumerism
with the love created on this day does accompany!! And
on this day exhibitionism is part of the coochie coo!!! It is
this exhibitionism that gets booed as coochie coo in public glare many do!!
Confucius says
. Valentine, Ma and Pa days in the end are all about
the money!!! Without a gift you cannot be a true lover or
daughter or sonny!!!! Flash....... BJP says terror and talks cannot
coexist!! One hand cannot be used to shake hands and the other hand to fist
(punch)!! As Congress is in Project Woo mode talks will not be
stalled!!! Congress's spin Doctors have already been called!! Excuse
to continue with the talks will be conjured!!! Maybe this time they'll come
up with ' what cannot be changed has to be endured'!!

We do not owe any responsibility, whatsoever, of the views of our surfers as they

MINISTER AFTER DR. MANMOHAN SINGH? Question is wrong Given the political
system the India follows, perhaps your question is wrong. The question should
read like Who will be the people's choice for Prime Minister after Dr. Manmohan
Singh? DK dkvfeb@hotmail.com Corruption and currency of 1000
and 500 notes So the solution lies not in raiding 5-10 officers but in
removing currency of notes of thousand and five hundred Rupee from the circulation.
There should be smaller notes of 5,10,20,50 and maximum 100 rupees In India. If
the above is implemented then corruption will be eradicated conveniently. There
will not be any need for raiding the premises of powerful bureaucrats and politicians.
Because if one officer wants to take a bribe of 1 crore he will have to
build a big godown to store 1 crore Rupees of denomination of 50-100 notes. And
the one who will give 1 crore bribe will have to hire 5 trucks to transport it
to the officer! With this fake currency will also be eliminated since nobody
would risk printing 50 rupee note and get caught. Therefore, through this
esteemed website, may I request the readers as well as the authorities concerned
to take immediate steps to stop printing one thousand and five hundred rupee notes
and take back the notes of these denominations from the public by exchanging with
smaller notes within a short span of time. India is a rich country with poor people
let its people be rich as well. I request Whisper corridors to start
a discussion on the above so that people can exchange their views on stopping
the notes of 1000 and 500 Rupees, in the interest of common man of India. Kaushal It
calls for some more explanation It calls for some more explanation as to
why there are very few IAS officers domiciled from Gujarat. How I wish if you
had given state wise comparison of officers domiciled from various states in various
category i.e. General, SC, ST & OBC?
In my view the cream of Gujarati
youth do not find IAS lucrative. They find employment in other sectors attractive.
The seconf best from Gujarat compete with the best of other states. The second
best can't match the best from other states. If comparisons of IAS officers from
various category is available, perhaps my hypothesis will be put to proper test. Prem
Kumar Gera Change pattern of declaring gazetted holidays I would like
to bring it to the notice of concerned officers in the Ministry of Home and Department
of Personnel that there is a need to change the pattern of declaring gazetted
holidays, from the pattern we are following for the past 50 years. The gazetted
holiday is declared to facilitate the government employees and others to
use the day judiciously for some purpose, eg: for a religious function, for a
festival, etc. Therefore, declaring a gazetted holidday on October 2nd and August
15 are of no use to anyone. Instead government should consider declaring gazetted
holidays on Shivratri and Raksha Bandhan. On both these occasions, it is found
that attendance in government office is very thin. Many of the government employees
go on a 'french leave', without any information to the office or taking permission.
Everybody in the office does not bother about it. The officers harass those few
people who are present in the office with the load of work - and it is a punishment
to those who have come to office sincerely. More than this, the amount of
petrol wasted, electricity and water wasted in the offices, on such days are enormous. Most
the State Governments and private compaies/ institutions observe a holiday on
Shivratri and Raksha Bandhan. Therefore, I feel that government
should consider giving a gazetted holiday on Shivratri and Raksha Bandhan and
in lieu of that declare October 2nd and August 15 as working days. It will
be in the right spirit because combined output of all the staff in offices, factories,
etc. will boost the economy of the country than the whole nation idling and wasting
these two days at home, sipping tea, playing cards, boozing , quarrelling, etc.
Because on these two days people have nothing else to do. Whereas if it is a religious
or festival holiday, people would be busy praying, celebrating , etc. So,
in view of the depleting economic situation in the country, the people have to
contribute for the progress of the country. Such small and judicious measures
will go a long way in boosting the economy of the country - instead of wasting
the valuable time. I would like to elicit the views of the readers
on this and if everyone agrees with me, the authorities concerned should think
about it. NK Neelakantan Important points missed in the entry
about TN Lakshmi Narayanan Almost the entire basic industrial infrastructure
of Tamil Nadu and the major development institutions including the Tamil andu
Industrial Development Corporation were set up during the tenure of this officer
as Industries Secretary of the State under the guidance of the then Minister of
Industry R Vankatraman later the President of India. Lakshminarayanan was the
Advisor to the Governors of Tamil Nadu and Kerela when the States were under Presidents
rule. His son in law Arun Ramanathan was the Union Finance Secretary at the time
of his retirement. It is a comment on the falling standards of decency today
that neither the Government of Tamil Nadu nor the leading industry bodies like
FICCI, CII etc chose to send a representative to lay a wreath for this extraordinarily
pleasant and competent officer. Minus the vision and work of this officer and
R Venkatraman, the State would have lost the headstart it has now which the current
Government and the captains of Tamil Nadu industry are taking advantage of. Kuppuswamy
