We should learn from Railways
The Indian Railways is the largest organisation in the World but this organisation is very well managed by their own officers and no IAS is there in the Ministry. Should we not learn from them to develop specialised services for each department in stead of leaving it to the generalists.
Subasis Mishra

Why IAS do so ?
Once the DIGs are being appointed district police chief at some places, where is the hitch in granting promotions. Further why not have more police commissionarate to have more senior IPS officers in the field and to have better policing for general public. Why do IAS bureaucrats block this? I fail to understand. Let Us Hope.

It will only result in sympathy for Rathore
The way visual media have gone over board conducting a one sided media trials calling the ex-DGP rapist DGP, killer DGP and molestor DGP etc will only result in a bit of a sympathy for Rathore. Like the bureaucrats and policemen involved, the attitude of Ruchika’s father also calls for scrutiny. Why has he kept quiet all these two decades especially when the Governments have changed more than thrice and also he has supporters like ex-DGP Singh and some CBI officers. As an educated person he could have put an habeas corpus case in the Supreme Court. Some thing is fishy and it requires a thorough enquiry.

It is disgraceful !
Your news item is disgraceful, in the most polite terms. Learning and intelligence are important, but wisdom, participation and representation are better qualities. Being father of two daughters, I feel their safety and security will be better ensured if all judges of SC are women. If not 100%, then at least 50% of all SC & HC Judges ought to be women.
