Is there a plot to eclipse politics of Nehru-Gandhi
clan?
Is there a plot to eclipse the politics of Nehru-Gandhi family? This
question is hotly being debated in corridors of power in the wake of
letting out the genie of ex Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) chief Warren
Anderson fleeing from India, 26 years after the Bhopal Gas leak disaster
that happened on the intervening night of December 2/3, 1984. Infact, the
controversy was generated after a calculated leak in Indian Media by
the CIA. Since when the American intelligence agency titled CIA is governing
rules of the game as far as the Indian politics was concerned. This
is for Indian intelligence agencies to probe.

Global recovery and growth major challenges:Kharge
Global recovery and growth in employment are the major policy
challenges before the world. By joining forces amongst the comity of
nations, we would be able to generate jobs and provide protection to
the working class and vulnerable sections of the society. This
was stated by Mallikarjun Kharge Indian Minister for Labour and
Employment. The Minister was addressing the 99th session of the International
labour conference in Geneva. ILO General Assembly is being attended
by 170 countries of the world in which political executives, trade unions
and employers organizations are participating. Kharge pointed out that
India was confronted with serious issues such as persistent high unemployment
and poverty, danger of prolonged job deficit in view of the growing
labour force, lack of social protection and unemployment. He mentioned
that the global jobs pact was heralded by the International labour conference
last year as a policy response to the global financial and economic
crisis. Kharge also pointed out that India has already made high
employment creation a priority goal through MGNREGA, of which 52% were
women beneficiaries. India is in the process of formulating a
National Employment Policy and employment creation will be mainstreamed
into all macroeconomic decision making in India. For the Government
of India, inclusive development is an act of faith. Kharge appealed
to all the countries to have the vision and dedication to contribute
to an inclusive and sustainable globalization to overcome poverty, enhance
growth with care for the vulnerable, and create individual opportunity
and hope. India looks forward to strengthening policy coherence
and working towards achieving decent work for all our brethren,
he added.

Children of civil servants......
Please check out the data before comment such thing. Over the years
several children of civil servants have made it to the premiere service.
Those not opting for it are mainly because today's generation finds
it easy to bypass this exam and join any Private sector for a few more
bucks, giving them a solace, as they never have the courage to take
this tough exam, and having to compete with students from all backgrounds.
More than 4 lakh people are giving this exam and the numbers are increasing
every year. Youth have wasted precious years to crack it. Its
derogatory to say that son's of civil servants don't want to take this
exam. Many civil servants fear that their son might not be able to take
the pressure and patience required to clear this exam and also fear
that kids of people below their ranks may pass it with a higher rank,
so better to not appear at all. I am a son of a civil servant and I
cleared the exam last year. I am grateful to God that it has allowed
2 generations of my family to serve the country .There are other ways
to serve but Civil service gives an excellent platform. At the end of
the day the service demands good persons at the helm of the affairs,
with highest level of integrity, without any greed. Its to the
credit of UPSC that it is able to select people from all background.
Just a comment of a few retired Civil servants should not be taken as
a token of lack of interest of children of other civil servants. Everyone
dreams his/her son to serve the country in the highest capacity, and
Civil servants are no different. Whoever is reading this knows this
and whatever you say, at the end of the day you'll prefer your sons
and daughters to be in Civil Service than doing any menial job for an
industrialist.
Thank you. No offence to anyone.
Dileep
Very true
Very true! Once I advised my daughter to prepare for civil services
exam, and she simply said, "Do you want me to suffer the way you
suffered all your life? You know, being your daughter, I can't be a
party to this corrupt system, nor I have patience to end up fighting
a futile battle against it." Corruption is the core problem bright
young people are going away from civil services.
G.D. Sharma
A child said to his father who is an accomplished civil servant."
Aap ki bhi koi Nokri hai...aap ka boss (not a civil servant) sara din
yes sir...yes sir..sunta.hai..us ko logic tau samajh aata nahi or na
voh koi baat samjhta hai....main tau aisi nokri kabhi nahi karunga....here
is another child of a civil servant, again equally accomplished. He
was interviewed for admission to a course recently and asked about a
political head of the government of the State he belonged to...the child
(age17+) I do think politicians are interested in anything other than
money..he added he would not like to join IAS because IAS officers are
not allowed to do right things for the Society. Given these perception,
though should not be generalized why would children of civil servants
join IAS

If Gandhi Nehru dynasty had a role in release of Anderson, people are
right to defame the dynasty. Afterall on whose order if not of PM, will
the CM of a state provide his official plane, collector and SP will
escort the culprit to airport and bail will not only be arranged but
on a surety of measly sum of Rs.50000. If it was on order of the then
PM, the public at large and the victims in particular have right to
know.

Sr.PPS /PSO
If US/DS/Director are worth their worth and Sr.PPS/PSO not, then why
many a times, senior officers ask these very Sr.PPS/PSOs to call the
Assistant or S.O., instead of US/DS, whenever they want to be briefed.
Further, why many a time when the senior officers call the US or DS/Dir,
for a briefing, they dont report immediately, simply because their
SO or dealing hand is missing. The truth is that every body has
his own weaknesses and strengths. It is very unfortunate that we Central
Sectt. officers are wasting our time and energies on petty issues. Instead,
we should encourage each other for finding scope of promotion, which,
in any case is nowhere near promotion of officers from other services.
This way, perhaps, we may look at the bright prospects in other services
and fight for getting closer to them, as equality is impossible. Perhaps,
it was in the interest of Central Secretariat officers (CSS & CSSS)
only that Pay Commission recommended merger of these two services. CSS
officers should, therefore, support this recommendation and help implementing
the same. A little problem in the beginning may prove a boon to their
fellow junior colleagues in the long run, I am sure.

Good to hear about Vijay Kumar
It is nice to know that Vijay Kumar IPS is being tipped to take charge
as DG, NSG. This officer, an icon in TN Police and who is credited with
the liquidation of Veerappan gang was in the cold ever since he got
one of the politicians with criminal background in TN killed in an encounter.
The DMK's wrath as well as the fact that the dead politician's wife
is at present a Central Minister went against him and made him cool
his heels on an innocuous academy job. He should be better utilised
as a CRPF or BSF Chief.

I had lost touch with Dr. Suresh Mehrotra since his days from National
Mail, that I used to call diligently to US to keep a tab on affairs
back home in Bhopal. That time I have written some letters and articles
in National Mail. I am thankful to Mr. Ashish Kolarkar for his letter
published yesterday on June 14, 2010 in Hindustan Times that introduced
me with current activity of Dr. Mehrotra. I would love to read him again.
Dr. Rakesh Shrivastava
Thank you very much for giving excerpts from news reports at the time
of the accident.
Very informative.
Thanks
