Manish Sharma as Dubai based Director Tea Promotion (DTP); West Asia & North Africa in the Indian Ministry of Commerce & Industry has defied the conventional image of a. cop. He won a lot accolades for putting up a remarkable show at the recently concluded The India Show in Dubai. The highest numbers of footfalls were registered at the stalls of Tea Board of India (TBI). Sharma besides having done MBA had also done a course in Export promotion, which is perhaps proving to be quite handy for him who is a Madhya Pradesh cadre, IPS officer from the 1992 batch. According to him “one reason for higher number of footfalls could be our focus on end-consumer”. Visual effects and aromatic surroundings too played their role in drawing visitors. The warm smell of tea, colourful décor at the TBI stall, and the fresh fragrance of ripe mangoes added a new dimension to the TBI’s stall, added Sharma. Replying to a question he said this year our approach was to generate more awareness about tea products among retail buyers and tea connoisseurs.” Notably the stall had organized tea sampling and tasting sessions, on the lines of wine sampling in the West.

Aaj ki Aawaz

Now its being said we do not have the technology for the clean up!!
Is it true or is it another ‘made  in America’ gupp??

It’s being said that there are 8000 mt of toxins in the Bhopal plant!!
And detoxify this quantity the available facility in India simply can’t!!

It can only detoxify 350 mt max!!!
And for all you know now Sarkaar will mull a detoxification tax!!

Because the funds being earmarked is not even 10% of what is needed!!
So this means if they need to raise funds 'we Indian will be bleeded'!

Imagine after 25 years all this is coming out!!
Chor… nikame….. don’t you feel an inner swell to shout!!

The GOM has cleared Rajiv of any misdoing!!
But this has not stopped the booing!

If the PM did not know about the India’s pledge to Anderson!!
He was not doing his job as in this case nothing without PM's okay could be done!

Why Rajiv gave this pledge is what now the Nation wants to know???
And why the Law in this case went ‘slow’???

Congress’s aim is to put a ‘money lollipop’ in the mouth of Bhopal affected!!!
And to do precisely this PC was selected!!

Good the Bhopal affected will get more money and better medical aid!!
But will this get the questions stayed???

Congress is now hoping that something big takes place,
And to cover this the Media does race!!

And Bhopal takes a back seat!!
I’m sure Congress would be thinking ‘wouldn’t that be neat’?????

Or for all you know if Congress gets desperate,
Something big Congress could ‘create’!!

‘Separation will be hara-kiri’ seems this BJP and JD(U) have realized!!
If they separate their situation they have sized!!

Yes seems BJP is more desperate as BJP has agreed,
That from any election responsibility for Bihar Modi will be freed!!

Laloo and Congress will say what difference does it make!!!
They’ll say this is all being done for election’s sake!!

Though for BJP and JD (U) this is a wise thing to do!!
In other States BJP could follow this ‘formula’ too!!

Its being said ‘Montek has in him an American soul’!!
So in that case where there is supposed to be a soul there is a hole!!

If Americans had a soul wouldn't there be in America a demand!!
That Anderson should be taken into remand!!

Confucius says…..Even Mohna’s soul in patches has ‘stars and stripes’!!
Speak something negative about US in front of Mohna and they say he gripes!

For those who have no pull
All this is only for those who have no pull. Otherwise anybody can be empanelled even if they were found unfit only a year back. If you can play any reservation card or use influence of politicians, and other powerful persons--with the help of senior bureaucrats, you can get empanelled as Secretary to G o I. A few fake and pseudonymous R T I applications will add to your chances further.

Taliban factor
I was very amused to read that M K Narayanan should return to Delhi from Kolkata in the national interest. Does that mean that his continuance in Kolkata as Governor of West Bengal is not in the national interest? If so, then how can Kolkata’s loss become Delhi’s gain? The pressing reason mentioned is the growing power of the Taliban in Afghanistan. In that case he should be posted as Governor of Afghanistan surely?

Return of Narayan to Delhi will be disastrous!
Considering the saga of successive intelligence failures during his tenure as the NSA, the case for return of MK Narayan( MKN) from West Bengal and his re-posting as NSA as built by a browser( June 21 ) seems to be downright motivated and biased. Even his appointment as the West Bengal Governor in return of reward for his imagined services to the PM, was unwarranted. MK, at best, brought Dr Manmohan Singh close to US Administration, unfortunately, at the cost of India’s self esteem and, worse, without matching benefits. He merely succeeded in focusing the inflow of all intelligence information to himself in a subtle manner-- only to emerge as another power centre in GOI, till, P Chidambaram clipped his wings with clear directions to report to him instead of the de jure PM. According to my understanding, M K N proved a total disaster as the NSA. Reasons could be enumerated as : ( a) A massive failure of intelligence machinery and its mishandling by the NSA both before and in the aftermath of 26/11; (b) MKN goofed up on Telangana issue and underestimated the intensity of Telangana movement. He also misled Sonia Gandhi and the de jure PM to commit on the formation of Telangana State; (c) Can anyone forget and forgive India’s fiasco at the Sharm- El- Sheikh? An experienced intelligence officer like M K N and Shiv Shankar Menon (former Foreign Secretary and the present NSA ) seeking to down play the serious omission as a mere drafting error! They only brought shame to India? ( d) Total absence of cohesion among India’s several intelligence agencies should also be attributed to MKN’s failure and his perceived inability to build up an effective Command and Control in the GOI’s Counter-terrorism apparatus. Even the US experts scoff at this downright negligence on the part of MKN;(e) Strange but true, it is understood from the media reports that MKN even as WB Governor still keeps advising the PM about the action to be taken on several sensitive issues concerning the internal security of the country and the faithful PM keeps forwarding these letters (from WB Raj Bhavan) to the union Home Minister for action as deemed fit !!! Having regard to the above, one wonders whether MKN’s body is in Kolkata but the Soul in Delhi ? Is it not the high time that both MKN and Menon voluntarily resigned and proceed to Kerala for rest and recreation .

Providing Justice
Providing justice was considered as prime job of king. As there is democracy, the same has been entrusted to judiciary in our country. This task of providing justice must be in the hands of experienced and matured persons of this country. The quality of maturity and experience can be gained only after a rich experience gained in society. The judges appointed at the age of 20-30 can not acquire the required maturity and experience on the basis of little theoretical knowledge. As lot of Discretionary Power has been conferred on judiciary in our law, therefore, Legislature must look into this aspect and judges even in lower courts be appointed after the age of 50 years to impart justice to the people of this country. Till then they may act as Government./Private Counsel etc. in different fields as per their talent and gain experience. The main objective is justice should not get buried by novice trial court judges. High Court Judges must be recruited through Rajya Sabha etc. having expertise in the field of law and dealing with day to day problems of public.
