Food inflation accelerates!!!
And to raise interest rates for whose green signal Pranab Da waits???

Or is he too busy firefighting or traveling overseas,
And seems in his absence work in Finance Ministry and RBI does cease!!

Economist PM should have stepped in!!
Not raising interest rates in present scenario is in economics a cardinal sin!!

Or as finance is Pranab’s domain!!!
Out of it Mohna does remain!!

Though some say that Pranab Da does not want to fiddle with the interest rates,
As Industry does not want this and they are ‘Pranab’s mates’!!

Hope you recall rumors about Pranab’s closeness to Dhirubhai!!
It is said Dhirubhai considered Pranab to be a Bhai!!

In Media back-rooms stories are rated on the juice in each story!!!!
When Bhopal came up it was felt it was very juicy ......sounds gory!!!

But in about a week’s time juice was down to a trickle!!
And so Media ‘used the sickle’!!!

Bhopal was cut out and replaced with another juicy story or kahani!!!
‘It is all about the juice jaani’!!

Like Rajdeep Sardesai of IBN went to Bhopal when ‘juiciness’ in Bhopal was there!
And once juiciness reduced for Bhopal Rajdeep no longer did care!!

Prabhu Chawla advised ‘ forget the past and let us move ahead’!!!
That is because in this tragedy his kith and kin were not dead!!

Had he lost someone close he’d be demanding ‘ Anderson be lynched’!!
Taken to the nearest tree and winched!!

Hai Prabhu ajeeb terri maya because on Banks he wanted past to be dug!!
But wants Bhopal ’s past to be buried or you can say kept under the rug’!

In BJP Jaswant Singh is back!!
Hope you recall why and when he was given the sack!!

Jaswant’s closeness to Vajpayee got him the sack!!
And then into BJP it got him back!!

Advani did not like Jaswant for this closeness one bit!!!
And for quite some time mentally he had dug for Jaswant a pit!!

Uma will not find the going that easy for her return!!
Most of the ‘bridges to return’ while exiting and after her exit she did burn!!

BJP is still not getting into the groove!!!
As the Opposition Party itself it still has to prove!!

Ghadkari they say after his appointment as President has gained in girth!!!
But he has still not been able to prove his worth!!

Confucius says….. BJP needs to go back to the drawing board!!!
Appoint a new Neta and devise new Neeti and delay in doing this it simply cannot afford!!

Flash…. Cabinet has accepted GOM advice on Bhopal!!!!
And that is all!!

Don’t post incorrect information

In response to poster "Rajeev’s comments, please do not post incorrect information. In the first place, no source has been cited for this entirely false "equivalence" cited by the poster "Rajeev". Examples of his erroneous calculations are spread throughout his diatribe. A full General, according to "Rajeev", is equivalent to a Secretary to GoI. Rajeev is apparently "unaware" that the Rank of General (and all other service chiefs) is in the same salary scale as Cabinet Secretary to the Govt. of India, viz. Rs 90,000 per month, as per the MOD VI CPC gazette notification which can be perused by those in doubt, here: http://mod.nic.in/6thCPC/PAYSERVICES-notification.pdf

If evidence of his lack of information is insufficient, we may see that furthermore, the grade pay of 6600, payable to "Under Secretaries to the GOI", is allotted to Majors, and not Lieutenant Colonels. Lieutenant Colonels are in Pay Band 4, GP8000, correctly allotable to Directors (Furthermore, they were earlier in S-25, viz. 15100-400-18400), and so have been incorrectly placed in PB4, GP8000. The idea of Colonels being equivalent to Deputy Secretaries is also laughable, considering they are in PB4, GP8700.

Spreading misinformation through private websites may be entertaining for Rajeev, but I have furnished the official GOI gazette notification which proves his comments to be rubbish. Any person who wishes to produce equivalences out of his own mind, is equally living in a fantasy world, which it is best to leave.

It is disgusting to see some letter writers comparing Army officers with civilian bureaucrats. Degree of precedence of Defence officers were systematically downgraded after independence, since those Gandhians who were at the helm thought foolishly that in a Gandhian democracy there were no place for armed forces. They pushed the armed Forces down, giving their requirements least priority. Even after we got a slap on our face by Chinese, we nver thought of giving them what was due to them. How can we compare Colonels with a Jt Secretaries. How many Colonel Neeraj Sood (late CO of 18th RF) are there amidst these vociferous civilian bureaucrats who have sacrificed or are ready to sacrifice their lives for the country. Armed forces officers are selected after a written examination and a 5 day strenuous physical and psycho analysis in SSBs. They do not get in just through the fluke of a written exam. They do not camp in Delhi or any other state capital almost through out their careers. Those who compare civilian bureaucrats should be sent to places like Siachen and Kupwara, where they will not last even for a week. No wonder many youngsters do not want to join armed forces. It doesn't give them the self respect or prestige, but only ridicule as some writers in your portal have done.

Criteria ?

I do not know what criteria Dr.Sarkar has put in assessing the present Chairman of Cochin Port Trust as the best.

N Sriram

Raajiv’s comments potray this:

"Start with a cage containing five monkeys.

Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all of the other monkeys with cold water.

After a while, another monkey makes an attempt with the same result - all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon, when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put away the cold water. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs. To his surprise and horror, all of the other monkeys attack him.

After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs, he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm! Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked.

Most of the monkeys that are beating him have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

After replacing all the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana. Why not? Because as far as they know that's the way it's always been done round here.

And that, my friends, is how GOI environment is made of. "

that is about a service called CCS and their bosses called IAS...

An all rounder in civil service

I write this with reference to the news item in ICFRE DG selection which I read a few days ago when I was in India. . I worked for a few years in forestry research in Kerala and now in Nigeria doing Rubber plantation. I happen to know Dr VK Bahuguna when he was MD Tripura Forest Corporation and Head - Rubber Mission. I worked for a few years in Tripura Forest Corporation in the field in not very senior position. I have never seen an all rounder in civil service like Dr Bahuguna. He is immensely talented very sharp, but diffident and a a adored forester in India. The way he raised the profile of Tripura forestry with more focus on poor tribals is the reason he got the innovation award from former president Abul Kalam and this was also published in Singapore based Times issue. I hope he will do the same in Forestry Research.

Only Soldiers provide security to nation

Rajeeva has laid down his wishlist of equations. Probably he is a steno promoted Under Secretary focused on status.

I would like him to know that Sachin Tendular has been honored with the rank of Group Captian by the IAF.

Probably Rajeeva would be jealous of that and wishes that rank to be blow him (Under Secy) and feel proud of that without deserving it.

Only Soldiers provide security to nation and not sentries of security guard. If the country provides a status of sentries to its soldiers, wonder what securty the contry would desrve !
Lalit

The equation given by Rajeeva for Army ranks and others is a matter of joke. No one but he is is in fools paradise.

Government of India has laid down precedence for ranks higher than that of Maj Gen and nothing below that.

The precedence of all the three chiefs is higher than all the Secretaries.

Grade pay wise, there is no equivalence of the rank Brigs in civil bureaucracy.

Director is of the level of Lt Col.

Below that Army has three ranks to be equated with other three ranks.

There can never be any equivalence to an Armed Forces rank, downing which is a matter of "prarabhda" and great honour /pride as accepted by almost all scriptures of the world including Bhagwat Gita. Being a true soldier and performing a noble task has been honoured in all ages.

It appears likes of Rajeeva have their modern day "Babu" Gita wherein those who serve you have no respect.
