SAIL to form shipping JV company with SCI
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) signed an agreement for formation of a 50:50 joint venture company with Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI). SAIL is India’s largest steel maker and SCI is the country’s largest shipping company. The agreement was signed by SAIL Director (Finance) Soiles Bhattacharya and SCI Director (Technical & Off-shore Services) U.C. Grover in the presence of SAIL Chairman S.K. Roongta and SCI Chairman Mr. S. Hajara. As per the agreement, the joint venture company (JVC) will primarily take care of SAIL’s shipping needs by owning and operating ships. The JVC, which will be registered at Kolkata and initially cater to around one million tonnes of SAIL's imported cargo annually, will be expanded subsequently.
SAIL currently imports around 10 million tonnes (MT) of coking coal, a major input for steel making, per annum. The company’s requirement of imported coking coal would increase considerably in coming years in view of the ongoing expansion plan of SAIL that will nearly double SAIL's hot metal production capacity from the current level of around 14 MT. The shipping JVC would enable SAIL to have control over part of its coking coal supply chain and effectively assist SAIL in mitigating risks existing in the volatile shipping market.

Aaj Ki Aawaz
Modi needs to go back to the drawing board!!!
Does he think he's got the  ‘ultimate’ weapon with Bachchan aboard????

He forgets his success is because of his ‘delivery’!!
And not to ‘gimmicks ki slavery’!!

If Modi needs Bachchan to score with Gujaratis then that means he’s scared!
That when it comes to delivery this time not too good he has fared!!

Bachchan takes a heavy price wherever he goes!!!
And like with SP he took his pound of flesh and now SP hits new lows!!

Though Bachchan cries that his son got in Earth Hour a raw deal!!
Fact is credits Junior tried to steal!!

He sent in a Video clip that was found to be poor in content!!
And then rather to Delhi citing shooting commitments to Goa he went!!

Remember Aamir Khan had done the previous clip!!
Junior Bachchan’s was poor in comparison and so Junior’s clip Organizers did skip!

And then to come to Delhi for the Earth Hour Junior said no!!!
So the Organizers let ‘him go’!!

In fact Bachchan is just trying to save his son’s skin and face!!
To take his son’s side any Father will race!!!

But then to say ‘he sees a pattern in all this’!!!
Conveniently the real issue he chooses to miss!!

Amar Singh taunts Jaya ‘ Bhabhi I miss you too’!!!
More like letting out on his one time family a boo!!

By the way is he shedding the Bachchans to come closer to Congress???
Maybe very soon in shudh Congress togs he will start to dress!!

Designer white kurta payjama and Congress topi!!
And in the Congress female attire you will find Jaya or his Gopi!!

M.S Gill says IPL has made cricket into a ‘dhandaa’!!!
Seems to reality of cricket all this time he’s been andhaa!!!

Fact is cricket has always been a dhandaa!!!
And sometimes the dhandaa has been also very gandhaa!!

Matches are fixed and players indulge in betting!!!
And then indulge in ‘match setting’!!

On IPL’s blimp…. if the ball enters the blimp cabin and is carried over the boundary line!
What will be the Umpire’s sign???

Will it be a six or will he call it a dead ball!!
And what if the blimp with the ball aboard on the wicket it does fall???

The ball could enter the cabin and make the pilot lose control!!!
Or enter the balloon after making a hole!!

And then land on the wicket with the ball aboard or in it!!!
In what rule will this fit????

Prannoy says Dalai Lama says he wants to see the last multi second of his going yonder!!
This made me sit down and ponder!!!

I pray in my last second I should have only HIM in my mind!!!
I should have no thought of who and what I am leaving behind!!

Confucius says…love your near and dear and enjoy your wealth but do not get attached!
Only to HIM you should stay latched!!

Adds……. Moh or attachment should only be with The Lord!!!
With HIM always keep attached your soul’s umbilical chord!

Flash..... the 1984 injustice continues as SC refuses to 'interfere' on Sajjan Kumar's bail!
Justice in 1984 cases has made it a habit to fail!!

And its time that Sonia realized the duality that Congress is indulging in!!!
The message from Congress is ...1984 Genocide is okay but Gujarat riot is a sin!

Congress cannot question Bachchan on his role in the 1984 genocide!!
Because at that time Bachchan was on Congress's side!!!

If you live in India be prepared to accept injustice!!
And funnily our PM says ' Democracy's hallmark is justice'!!!

Bharat Kumar

Civil Engineers not trusted ?

Civil Engineers are always the servants, necessary but not trusted. This is in-spite of the fact that nearly 35% initial capital budget of any Government or department has to pass through Engineers. Engineers are supposed to be corrupt, inefficient and lazy. Remarks of Secretary UD do not come as a surprise. I would suggest this bureaucrat or any body else to get their children educated or treated for diseases, construct a house or conduct daughter’s wedding with the procedures that are set to Engineers. Nobody is held responsible for all the delays that take place before the AA & ES. That happened with booths to issue icards to voters in Delhi. All the alteration and construction work in > 70 places all over Delhi was asked to be completed in 30 – 45 days disregarding the fact that concrete laying after dismantling takes at-least a week and it takes further 21 days for it to gain strength before next operation in cement. There were at-least three minimal operations. PWD engineers were forced and threatened with punishment undeserved. No punishment for delays thus far. Quality of product delivered needs no guessing. Concern is also that some Engineers revel in such situations

Why does Air India need a foreigner as COO ?

There are many talented Indians who can fit the bill. It is advisable that a foreigner who has expertise in the field could be inducted as a director on board AI but the COO should ideally be an Indian.

Moorthy is an outstanding officer

S S L N Moorthy is known to be a fine, upright, soft spoken, hard working, intelligent and outstanding officer. He embodies all that is best in the finest traditions of the Civil Service. Though he has superseded many, it is due to his virtues. This is a fact of life which happens in the Armed forces, in the IAS, in the Foreign Service, the Judiciary and everywhere else.

Grade Pay & Arrears : Is Finance Minister sleeping ?

Recently Government has increased the GP from 4200 to 4600 for Assistants/PA. It is nice that this genuine demand has been met. But the surprising factor, is suddenly the pay fixation benefit in the earlier Basic of Rs.7450/- has been given without any logic. Because of this, persons with more that 20 years of service are getting nil benefit except GP whereas persons with minimum number of service are getting more than Rs.2500 benefit every month and that too from 1.1.2006 resulting in the arrears touching nearly Rs.1 lakh. This is something silly. Since the demand was only for increase in GP, it is surprising how the question of fixation of a new basic has come up. And Moreover, if the govt. wants to give this benefit then the arrears should have been limited only to the difference in GP because the incurring amount will be nominal and not the difference in fixation of basic which should be notional. In steno line, persons within 5-10 years of service are benefited the most and the persons with more than 20 years of service are not the beneficiaries of this but they have to work with senior officers because of their experience and the persons with less number of service will work with junior officers and leave home on time with more financial benefit. Is this arrears of difference in pay required. It would be better if the arrear amount is restricted only to the difference in Grade Pay and difference in DA and not extended to the difference in fixation of basic. Hope DOPT and Finance Ministry wakes up from slumber.

Army officers most pampered professional group

Army officers get free rations all the time in addition to their pay and perks. They are the most pampered professional group in India. So you should add the price of free rations for a family of 5 persons to the pay of a Brigadier. That is the real wage. Let us cut out this hypocrisy that a rational discussion of these matters is un patriotic or that our border defences will somehow collapse as e result of discussion. I have myself seen Brigadiers hawking free quota sugar in the market place. The sugar was part of the monthly quota. Another vegetarian army officer sold his monthly meat quotas to dog owners! On top of all this they want to be equated 2 notches higher than their civilian counterparts. We are not yet a military dictatorship and we must keep the greed of army officers in check.

Govt officers out to loot the country

In reference to report that in a move that will impose more burden on ailing Air India, the civil aviation ministry has decided to give all its previous secretaries life-long free upgrades on air tickets to first class and access to lounges at any airport in the country, it can only be said that seniormost officers of government are out to loot the country.

Modi's press conference was impressive

I am impressed by Gujrath CM Modi's press conference after giving evidence (anti-Modi media calls it interrogation) before the SIT.I wish we have more leaders like him. The media like NDTV, Times etc due to their vested interests, have already concluded Modi is guilty and will blame SIT or even SC if they found Modi not guilty. The bane of our democracy appears to be politically biased media like NDTV. There should be some control over these.
