Army officers cannot be compared to CPO's
Army being a larger organisation and different organisation than police will naturally have higher number of officer rank entrants. Army officers cannot be compared to CPO's and especially not to Group B state services, as they are a class I gazetted and commissioned service, while State Services are group B and in some cases not Class I either. Anyway in a democracy, colonial police ranks like "Inspector General" etcetera should not be used, and police ranks should not be linked to army ranks. In the US WoP, the highest a police chief of a state police or large city is equitable with, is a full colonel. In the UK, no military sounding rank like "Director General" is used for police, and even the highest officer is known as chief constable. And all police personnel start at the rank of Constable, without exception. There is no lateral entry. Everyone must learn their job as constables, and work their way up, before aspiring to sky high rank. And the UK has a very good police system. Is it not time that India emulated the system that the British chose for themselves, rather than that which they chose for their subject peoples?

Society must pause and think.
Instead of waiting for the Government to do something, I believe, every citizen must take up an initiative against all types of corruption at their own level. For example, start hating people publicly, who are known to be corrupt, at all stages.

Don’t indulge in below the belt types situations
Whatever may be service conditions, my request is to all those who visit this precious site is not to indulge in below the belt types situations. There may be right or wrong in everything but why ridicule anyone? Why we all live in this urgency of showing someone else on a lower place? What do you finally achieve by this? Therefore I request that please express yourself but with a decent language and logic which would work better.

System needs to be reviewed
Forty lakh cases pending in courts? Judiciary is an industry with judges, lawyers and police officers as partners and wealthy are clients. No body is afraid of law. The whole system needs to be reviewed and changed.

Sports Ministry has done well
The Ministry of Sports has done well to restrict the tenure of heads, secretaries and treasures of various sports bodies. They should have done this long time ago. It required a PIL in the high court to do this. Many individuals heading these sports federations have done irreparable harm to the sport of which they are heading the federation. Take hockey. To be a competent cop does not qualify one to be competent manager of a national game. Many of these worthies may not be even familiar with all the nuances of the sport they are supposed to promote as the head of that federation. They find themselves ensconced there for the money, the foreign trips and the patronage they can dispense. The next step required is to let only acknowledged sports persons head the sports body of the particular game in which they have brought laurels to the country.
