The only thing, which surprises me is that there are regular updates on Air India, which I have been patronising for more than 50 years, ever since my childhood, but in all such updates, invariably you mention the name of the CMD. Though, I have nothing personal, I do not even know him on a personal basis. At the same time, I find remarkable improvement in the services of the carrier, ever since, the present CMD is in chair.

IMAGINARY INTERVIEW WITH PM MANMOHAN SINGH (PART-2)

Post Obama's visit I'm sure many like me want answers from Manmohan Singh. I thought to myself why not call Manmohan Singh on the number he had called me from??? I picked up my mobile and called the number he had called me from!!

Mohna Ji: Hullo Madam Ji I'm doing the needful ….please understand it is not that easy!

Me: Manmohan Sir Ji this not Sonia Madam this is Bharat Kumar. Don't you have a caller ID on this landline????

Mohna Ji: You cannot call me on this number….. you could go to jail for doing so!

Me: Arre you can call me from this number so why can I not call you back?? Are you God????

Mohna Ji: Yaar if you waste my time the Nation looses out as I am working for the Nation 24x7!!!

Me: Wah…… so we should sue your prostrate that makes you waste time in the loo…. Mirza Ghalib because you take time off to listen to his poetry…… and even your doggy for the time lost when it forces you to play!

Mohna Ji: Chadh yaar (leave it)…. why did you call me????

Me: Sir Ji I want to ask you some questions!

Mohna Ji: Chal puchch le (okay ask)! I know you are a chipkoo and if I do not answer your questions you will keep hankering me!!

Me: Did Obama ask for Chavan's and Kalmadi's sacking???

Mohna: What a ludicrous question! What has Obama got to do with their sacking????

Me: Well he must have read the papers and got to know about Kalmadi and Chavan's sheer chori and the Government's inaction! Well unlike Madam and you he's pretty sensitive to Public opinion and if news gets to US that Mohna who he rates so high is siding with scum his rating would plummet further!!! Raja is out of the papers nowadays or Obama would have first asked for his resignation too!!

Mohna Ji: Oye terri aisi kumm taisi… say what you want about me but do not talk about Madam in a derogatory way!! Madam is sensitive to Public opinion… her attire and hairdo are based on public opinion…… her think tank keeps her abreast on Public opinion!!!! Her OSD or Officer on Saree Duty, Ms. Selja keeps abreast with public opinion while deciding on the sarees Madam wears!

Me: The timing of booting out Chavan and Kalmadi stinks!! Why just after Obama's leaving Indian shores????
Mohna: Madam wanted to boot both of them some time back and she had asked for my opinion but I was too busy with Obama's trip!! You know she really values my advice!!

Me: I cannot believe that Manmohan Singh would delay answering Sonia because of some other work!!!! Or is Obama more important?????

Mohna ji: Merre tu saamne honnda teh mai tennoo mukka maarr denda ( I'd have punched you if you were in front of me)! Sonia ji Madam ji comes above everyone else!!! Arre she knows I was preoccupied for her and the Nation!!

Me: Chalo now I feel you are not lying because you've said 'her and the Nation' which means for you Sonia comes above even the Nation!!

Mohna ji: Change the topic or I'm putting down the phone!!!

Me: Chalo I've got my answer…… tell me you've booted out Kalmadi and Chavan but Raja who has made the Nation lose more than the cost of the CWG Games is still in your Cabinet!!

Mohan ji: Coalition politics…. Congress has done the needful now it is up to DMK to take action!!

Me: But isn't Raja in the Cabinet on ' the PM's pleasure'???

Mohna ji: If this was the yardstick only one Minister would be in my Cabinet!!

Me: And who would that Minister be?????

Mohna Ji: Rahul Ji ….. that is till he is ready to take over!

Me: And then for the first and hopefully the last time the Indian PM would address his Cabinet Minister as 'Sir'!!

Bharat Kumar

Claiming that Tata Nano is a safe car with a robust design, state-of-the-art components and built with an uncompromising attention to quality in all aspects, Tata Motors has said that it is not recalling Nanos adding, "Customers can rest assured that there are no generic defects in it". Besides, the company has claimed that its customer satisfaction studies with current Tata Nano owners indicate that about 85% are satisfied or very satisfied with the car, because of it being 'small yet spacious', its performance, maneuverability, durability, low operating cost and safety. The reasons for the incidents in few Tata Nano cars, the Company claims, were specific and due to additional foreign electrical equipment having been installed or foreign material left on the exhaust system. As such, the company said, "we have decided to make the car even more robust by providing additional protection in the exhaust system and the electrical system".

Curruption in Public life.

A Raja, Minister of Communication & IT, has crossed all limits of corruption. His misdeeds have costed the country whopping Rs. 1,76,350 crores and irony is that he is still unshaked...going strong. He should immediately be sacked and be arrested pending inquiry. He and his party should be made to pay for the loss that has been inflicted upon country. Sonia Gandhi and PM must take action against him. If not, they will also construed to be sharing the booty. Anyway, they can't escape blame. 2G spectrum was auctioned years back. Auctions for the 3G have recently been concluded. What our govt. has been doing during this period. It could not have happened without their knowledge and if it happened so, they are not fit to hold the high positions that they are holding. I am amazed what DMK (Karunanidhi) is doing. How can free hand be allowed to such people and political parties. They should be held responsible for their acts....Country would never forgive them.....Aren't they inspiring people to come out of shell... steal, loot and what not?? PM is responsible for each and every misdeed that his ministers do. Thanks.

Tolerance of self styled honest persons surprising

Tolerance of self styled honest persons (PM Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi) is surprising especially in case of A Raja. The so called "Coalition Dharma" is actually "Corruption Dharma". They should remember that Rajiv Gandhi lost the election in 1989 over an allegation of kick back of Rs 64 Crores only. If CAG is to be believed, then A Raja has caused a loss of Rs 1,40,000 Crores to the country. If CAG is not to be believed as Manish Tewari of Congress appeared to be saying on a TV Channel, then probes in CWG scam by CAG or Ex CAG should also be treated as an eye wash.

Raja raises questions of propriety

The telecom minister, Raja, has raised questions of not only constitutional propriety but the scope of the fiction of failure of constitutional machinery. In states, the Governor can take action under the constitution if there is a failure of the constitutional machinery in the state. In the absence of specific provisions in the constitution whether it is applicable to the central government too, remains to pass the test of judicial enquiry. But Raja, by his open challenge to the authority of the Prime Minister and naked violation of his oath of office, has raised the question as to what can be done in such cases. Unless answered decisively now, the question is bound to cripple the constitutional form of government in the states as also the center, in future, when several clones of this Raja follow his footsteps. It is, therefore, necessary to examine the remedies available to the government, and when the government too fails or indulges in the luxury of criminal abnegation of its responsibility, the people of India? Fortunately there is enough in the constitution of India to meet these eventualities. As the constitution of India is based on the Government Of India Act 1935 and cast in the Westminster mould, convention demanded Raja should have resigned the moment the scandal broke out or any adverse report was submitted by the competent authority. Under the Westminster model, conventions have the force of written law. India also hoped that it will be so here too. Alas, the Rajas, Kodas, Gurujis, Chelas, Ranis, Nawabs, Singhs and slaves all have proved it beyond reasonable doubt that there can be no place for anything not written in the constitution. In fact, Raja is the only one who has chosen to show utter disrespect even to the written law: the constitution; The Transaction of Business Rules; Oath of Office; financial rules; Prevention of corruption Act; IPC sections 160 through 165 etc. However, luckily for us the people of India, our wise constitution makers made no mistake on this count--they were men and women of great erudition, knowledge, moral fibre and selflessness, unlike these controversial figures. Challenge to the executive authority of the government had been anticipated by them and provisions at different places have been made. In the normal course(i.e. if the writ of the Prime Minister had truly run), Raja should have been asked to resign or sacked. But there are compulsions of unholy selfish coalitions, dictated by vote bank politics in an evolving democracy, other remedies available should be tried. Nobody has the power, Not Even The Prime Minister of India, to violate the constitution and the laws passed by the parliament. If the elected representatives collectively fail to discharge their constitutional duties the judiciary steps in. The writ jurisdiction of the judiciary has enough power to ensure dismissal of Raja and his clones in future by issuing the writ of Mandamus. That is why the judges are not elected but appointed--not by the ministry of law & justice nor the Prime minister, but the President under his/her own signatures and seal. Their appointment is not conveyed through an ordinary letter of appointment issued to us civil servants/all government servants, but under a Warrant. It is in the nature of a command from the Head of the State(as contrary to the Head of Government/Head of Office), with the implicit direction to act in accordance with the spirit and letter of the constitution in the most equitable & just manner. That is the guarantee of the independence of the judiciary. Those constitutional authorities which are independent are fearless too and act without favour or ill will to anybody. That is why the judiciary is empowered to strike down any law or a part of it as ultra virus when found to be hitting the constitutional provisions. The same authority is enjoyed by them under the writ jurisdiction to declare any action or inaction of the government, including its agencies, as ultra virus and order such remedies as it thinks appropriate. So Raja has the choice to gracefully quit or some respectable lawyer of the Supreme Court file an appropriate writ petition immediately. India should not suffer such indignities in silence. Butcher the constitution, and you shall see Rajas in every gali-kucha (street/street corner) of India!!!

Jurisdiction of CBI be extended

Yes its true that the jurisdiction of the CBI must be extended to the IAS ,IPS AND IFS as they draw all the facilities of the central government for pay and perks but when it comes to corruption they become state government employees. Strange ,when it comes to huge bungalows, servants ,vehicles they again become state government employees which is much more liberal on these issues ,but when it comes to disciplinary action they switch over to the central status again. So they have the best of both worlds. when it comes to empanelment as JS 1991 batch OF IAS begins and for other services its 1981 to 84 .they want to be ahead by a decade so that no central service ever comes even the distant second.
