They're not trained managers but prosecution clerks.

What IAAS saves and protects is hardly quantifiable. Rs 1,76,000 crore is just one example. Crux of the matter is that accounting services dohave an institutional training on financial management of certain
sectors of the Government whereas Revenue service survives on the brutal law of the Government implemented under coercion. They are not trained managers but prosecution clerks.

Law should take its own course

Manju Madhavan, a senior officer of the IRS, who is the only officer in Government of India who decided to go rather than toe the line of folk who are in the line of fire for the biggest scam ever of the country, would be the first person to suggest that the law should take its own course rather than political mileage be made out of what are most unfortunate circumstances. The PM, who is the very epitome of integrity has been asked to submit
affidavits by the Supreme Court. There may possibly be many instances of the Supreme Court where the Court has been alleged to have been dragging its judicial or administrative feet- by senior members of the
bar and press-(physician- heal thyself!). All the institutions in a healthy Parliamentary democracy are to be nurtured equally. Maybe questions which are for Parliament to raise should not be raised by
the Supreme Court unless they are before the Supreme Court to consider wrongdoing. The SC also would be the first to suggest that a media trial be avoided in these matters while bringing the guilty, if any,
to book through due process of law. Let us not prejudge and predecide without trial on the issues of the gravest importance to the governance of the country.
