What proof UPA needs ?

What proof the government and the UPA chief needs ? Unless or untill the age limit for retirement is raised to 62 years, the problem of shortage remains. Some officers in the government have got negative thinking and they spoil the good work which is known only after many years. What if 62 years is not done? This government will collapse for ever as the final outcome of its rigid attitude. The good work is never given any weightage Why the government is not fulfilling this?

"Integrity is not the eligibility criteria for CVC's appointment: AG to Supreme Court!!!"

Representing the GOI ,the Attorney General (AG) stated before the Supreme court that "impeccable integrity" was not the eligible criteria for CVC's appointment. Quite a bizarre statement, it is. If the GOI gives tertiary importance to integrity then it is free to shortlist candidates out of thugs and fraudsters who would be better equipped to catch the government officers for misconduct. The concept of integrity also needs to be re-defined. The Attorney General instead of advising the Government about the importance of Ethics in Governance, instead, chose to defend the indefensible. His arguments could not stand the scrutiny in the court of law. This is a wake up call for the Central government. If the weak and gutless Prime Minister continues to follow the "high command" to save his chair as PM, worse days are ahead for the country. The lightening speed at which the appointment of P J Thomas as CVC was processed despite a dissenting note from Mrs Sushma Swaraj, Leader of Opposition, raised a natural suspicion in the public mind about the correctness of decision taken by GOI. This was unprecedented, arbitrary and based on the policy of 'Pick and choose' . Decisions in all such appointment matters, it is understood, were arrived at in the past on the basis of 'Consensus'. A back reference to Mrs Sushma Swaraj could have been made and her second opinion sought. This lapse was shocking, to say the least. What was the tearing hurry for the Government to appoint a charge-sheeted officer as the CVC. Sheer arrogance of power, was it. Who gave the orders for by-passing the norms of propriety? No right thinking citizen can give the benefit of doubt to Thomas. The Supreme Court after perusing the relevant papers of GOI and delivering its judgement may consider placing the same in the public domain in the interest of transparency, accountability and Good governance.
