It’s a Miracle ! I recall watching a news report in 2004 on DD news about Whispersinthecorridors. And a gentleman commented “It’s a Miracle”. Thinking of it after many years of retirement we, IAS always block everything that comes to our notice. RTI finds it difficult to extricate information. However, Whispers day after day, for a decade, gets all the information it desires. I recall, once in a meeting a Principal Secretary to Prime Minister shouting at Director IB " Who the hell is this Dr Mehrotra ? How does he manage more moles in GOI than you ?" Today looking back PS to PM was perhaps right and today he relies upon this site for info now that he lives retired life. And "THE MIRACLE" continues ....... and my Salaam to your efforts. My only regret, I did not recommend you for a much deserved Padma Award.

Aaj Ki Aawaz
What worries me is will Mohna barter for a 'UN Security Council Seat'?
And in lieu in the Valley a hasty retreat India will beat!!

Obama has made this as a pre condition for US support for the UN Seat!!!
And as we know Uncle Sam’s demands Mohna tries his best to meet!!

Maybe very soon we’ll get to hear ‘enough is enough’!!
Or some other ‘let Valley go’ kind of stuff!!

Obama is demanding this as he feels this will endear US with the Muslim lot!!
That is why in lieu of US’s support for the UN Seat giving Kashmiris azaadi Obama’s sought!!

For sure if Valley is allowed to go it’ll be like a gun start for India getting bisected!!
Already in Maharshtra Shiv Sena wants all non Marathis to be ejected!!

Or maybe India needs to go the US way!!!!
United States of India would not be a bad idea many would say!!

Its being said for CWG Rahul is being voted as ‘ for CWG the best face’!!!!
Don’t know on what this judgement public ne kiya base????

Because Rahul's kept away from CWG and rightly so!!!!!
Not even near any of the Stadiums or functions he chose to go!!!

You think Kalmadi would not have sent him invites for events to CWG run up!!
Or maybe this is a Kalmadi sponsored ‘gup’ (fib)!!!

Aunty Shiela blames OC and OC blames all …left, right and centre!!
Whereas I feel for all that has gone wrong Kalmadi and gang are the ‘epicentre’!!

The slugfest is now here to stay and let us see what happens post the Games!!!
Will this blatant chori be given a burial after all have called each other names???

Now Laloo is trying to show that he can change the fortunes of Bihar!!
So he's trying to emulate Nitish Kumar!!

Laloo now talks about Bihar's development!!
Even his ardent supporters are surprised at this development!!

Because in the past Laloo cared two hoots for Bihar's haalath that was indeed khasta!
Abracadabra and Laloo has taken the development card from his bastaa (bag)!!

Funnily Nitish is doing a Laloo and is into vote bank wooing!!!
All out vote bank wooing he is doing!!

The report from ground zero!!
Nitish will again be the hero!!

And Laloo will be the villain and naturally Rabdi the vamp!!
Some improvement in Congress's standing and Rahul will be declared by Congress 'electioneering champ'!!

Biharis basically feel Bihar is safer under Nitish Kumar!!!
And if Laloo comes back it will be once again 'facing his goondas ki maar'!!

Confucius says.......15 years of Laloo's Jungle Raj and 5 years Nitish  Raj that people feel is sane!!!
And that is why Nitish will get to be the CM again!!

Bharat Kumar

Tendency to get intimidated and insulted

Our ambassadors in China have a tendency to get intimidated and insulted. Some function as Chinese Ambassadors, like our first Ambassador K M Panikker who along with Nehru was responsible for giving Tibet in a platter to China. The present Foreign Secretary, it appears, has not got over the insult and intimidation she got when she was our Ambassador in China. She was woken up at midnight and called to their foreign ministry to receive a protest on a minor issue and gulped it without any protest. It appears she has not got over her jitters even now.

Commonwealth Games

My prediction for Commonwealth Games are coming true. First we were told that our national pride is in danger so what should government do to protect it? Spend money right left and center. Now government has rightfully protected your national pride. The city looks swankier than it ever was. Its citizens are excited that they have arrived at the world stage and have become citizens of a truly 'world class' city with world class infrastructure. Now forget all about your poverty or poor. Remember you are citizens of a all mighty powerful nation. Now forget all about corruption or corrupt because if such a huge spend is made then there is bound to be some corruption. Now forget all the pain, all the wastages, all the mismanagement, which is a routine in organizing such mega events. Remember that our national pride has been protected, remember we have hosted better games then Melbourne or Beijing, remember we have got world class stadiums, remember the city has got world class infrastructure. Forget everything else and enjoy life in the state of inertia.

How do 'democrats' fools the commoners?

They keep them in a state of utopia and enjoy the fruits of 'democracy' themselves. My recent experience has consolidated my impressions and if anyone want to check the facts then he/she is most welcome. As a retired officer I have very little to do at home so the newspapers are scrutinized a little too closely. Suddenly I found them to be flushed with a lots of advertisements on the cultural events to be organized by Delhi Government. I for one was quite happy as I felt at last government has woken up to our cultural prowess and we would have something positive to show up to the world. Though there was a bit concern for the kind of expense that must have gone into issue of these advertisements. Then I found the whole city flooded with billboards of these programmes and my concern of the kind of expenditure being incurred on these high levels of publicity really grew but I was still very keen to watch some of my favorite artistes perform. The advertisements issued by Delhi Government mentioned quite a number of locations where the passes of these events were supposed to be available. Since I am a retired man so had a plenty of time at my disposal to go and fetch the passes and was therefore first to reach these venues for my passes. However to my amazement I found that none of these places had any passes available and everywhere I was told the same story that only a limited number of passes were issued for this venue and the same have been taken by others who reached earlier than me. Since my curiosity had mounted by now so I did a little research on the topic and found out that actually most of the passes were made available to senior bureaucrats and powerful leaders and only a trifle number of the same were kept for general public that too were siphoned off by the lower staff. Now see the irony of democracy, it is public money with which these programmes are going to be organized. It is the public money which is being spent on huge publicity of these programmes. Public at large is being given the impression that there government is promoting the art and culture in a big way. But who is enjoying at the cost of this huge public expense? Well the answer is too obvious, those who hold the reins of power enjoy its fruits and the public at large is kept in good humor with a trifle and that is what defines democracy for you and me the so called 'commoners'.

Creditable achievement

God save this country !

Ms Mamta Banerjee has done nothing appreciable as Railway Minister. Her sole aim is to become CM of West Bengal. Nothing wrong in that; but she is so desperate that she is aligning with and encouraging anti social and anti state movements and people. God save this country from such politicians.

How much space for religion?

The viewers, who have felt irritated at inane and mischievous coverage on endless TV shows with the same vintage panelists and questions, are joined by many others like me. The anchors and the panelists have split open the gap between the panelists & erudition of the learned judges and lawyers on the one hand , and the sagacious Indians and the debaters on the other. How dangerous it is for public peace to discuss complex issues like the Ayodhya judgement, has been proved by these ill informed/ ignorant talkers! Fortunately for the people of the country technology has come to the rescue. But for the information technology(IT), they would have thrown the entire country into the fires of communal riots everywhere, but information technology provided them first hand information directly delivered, without the mischief of selective quotes or out of context interpretation, tilts, twists, stretches. The people are wise enough to understand things for themselves. They don't need interpreters of Netas or panelists or embedded media. Added to it is the pool of highly educated youth across all sections of the society. More than that, the number of educated women has grown very much(some asides even call it too much! I don't know). They are educated and trained in law and politics also. The Netas have not opened even a single book after getting power--power has occupied all the space in their brain leaving nothing for new knowledge. But the youth is up to date. They constitute more than 38% of the population. They also have first hand knowledge of merit being ridiculed at every step by corruption, be it initial appointment or promotion or posting or anything else thereafter. Obviously, more space of their mind has been occupied by modern knowledge. They truly belong to the global village. They are spiritual, more than all the religionists put together, but are not susceptible to religious incitement. And there lies all the frustration of the panelists, media and Netas! This round they have lost to sanity. Better they accept the new era. Now all the space in the brain can not be monopolized by the religion. It need not. Life might have been organized initially around religion, but now there are several more things to do in life than religion 24x7. Spirituality, Yes. It can 24x7 and fits perfectly with the modern age. Let the youth try to follow and assimilate the wisdom of the words of the Allahabad HC/Lucknow Bench judgement. It will be quite educative. Please read the entire judgement as any ordinary student of law would do. Such judgements add to the legacy of jurisprudence. Read a few more judgements of the Privy Council and see the wisdom of the courts even in matters religious. Best, learn and decide for yourself.

Strict law to control visual media required

We should say that India remained calm on the eve of Ayodhya verdict inspite of the provocative news and panel discussions meted out day in and day out by visual channels like NDTV, Headlines Today and Times Now. They were trying to build up euphoria days before the event and as a run up just like they were doing for a World Cup finals. Even after the verdict, NDTV allowed communal elements like Owaisi participate in a panel discussion and to say that Islamic Law does not permit surrender of Mosque lands. This clearly shows that there should be a strict law controlling visual media so that these channels should not use anti-nationals to get more popularity.

Horrible and shameful act

Rape and murder of lady police constable by none other than policemen of the same police thana in Kota Rajasthan is yet another proof of total depravity on the part of those who are supposed to protect the people. It is no wonder our country has largest number of private security guards. It is a common knowledge that money plays a huge role in police recruitment and joining police force is highly attractive proposition for those having criminal tendencies as police uniform provides automatic protection. Therefore to instill confidence among people large scale weeding out of policemen with doubtful antecedents should be undertaken immediately. Total silence on police related brutalities on the part of those retired and serving cops and political leaders who never miss an opportunity to lash out at Naxalites and others is also inriguing.
