Aaj Ki Aawaz

Why had Pawar initially expressed inability to carry out SC’s Order??
And now why is he saying Order will be obeyed when SC said ‘Order… Order’???

Post the SC order he was busy with ICC work!!!
And as we know he’s committed to Cricket so responsibility he could not shirk!!!

After getting ‘fatkaar’ from SC now Pawar is saying ‘SC Order will be followed’!!
His previous comment now he’s swallowed!!

Kalmadi messed up and a team of Secretaries was appointed!!
With Pawar Nation is a hundred times more disappointed!!

And then with ICC as Pawar is extremely busy so why not replicate????
A Team of Secretaries to run the Ministries held by Pawar karro dedicate!!

And let PMO which has till now kept a safe distance from Ministries held by Pawar!
Keep tabs on these Ministries ‘literally by the hour’!!

Montek Singh now boasts ‘inflation has ebbed’!!
He says 'Had it not then I would not have been egged’!!

In Kolkata an egg was pelted at Montek!!
‘If food inflation was raging egg would not have been thrown' is Montek’s take’!!

Feel sorry the egg missed its target and was wasted!!
Many would have jumped with joy if ‘Montek with the egg was pasted’!!

Uncle Sam is livid with the modifications in the Nuke Civil Liability Bill!!
Uncle Sam threatens because of this relation with India could chill!!

Basically the US Suppliers are up in arms!!!
They say ‘Our interests the modified Bill harms’!!

Especially hurting is the ‘80 years responsibility term’!!!
As ‘inconsistent with norms this Uncle Sam does term’!!

'Uninsurable' US Insurers say!!!!
So in US various lobbies are 'at play'!!

Uncle Sam is like a spoilt kid!!!
Throws a tantrum when you do not do what the kid does bid!!!

Uncle Sam look at Bhopal .... a Nuke accident would be more damaging by miles!
Maybe then Nuclear Civil Liability Bill will stop giving Uncle Sam piles!!

Confucius says…Uncle Sam’s attitude is ‘ bow to my might’!!!!
Might is right!!

Adds….. Uncle Sam feels one US life is more precious than the entire population of a non US Nation!! A downright wrong and inhuman equation!!

Stop covering trivial matters

As an avid reader of your website I find that, of late, you are wasting your time and space on trivial issues pertaining to clerical matters and the Private Secretaries. Please do not degrade your website to such a level that people stop reading it altogether. Please raise the standard of your Forum column by bringing out the views on burning issues. Are your highly paid Editors not competent to assist you in disallowing absurd columns on PAs , PSs etc. Please apply your mind discreetly.

Kudos for being bold

Read the comments of C.Singh regarding the posts of PPS/SPPS/PSO which are very apt. Kudos to C.Singh for being so bold.

Short-term goal of promotion

I fully agree with the comments posted by C.Singh and Ram on the views expressed by G. Saran regarding the posts of PPS/Sr.PPS/PSO. Saran seems to be concentrating on the short-term goal of promotion. These posts are created for providing scope for promotion avenues. Will he be happy to reach to the level of Private Secretary during his whole tenure. And it depends on person to person holding the post though it may be high or low level post. And exceptions are always there in all grades. In conclusion, persons holding offices in the unions should try to improve the service conditions and promotion avenues in the cadre reviews.

CWG & Delhi

As expected, officials involved directly or indirectly with the CWG are panicky. Why the official, even the Prime Minister is tense or else, why would he visit one of the venues. All this shows carelessness, if not immaturity (in handling such events), on the part of official as well as ruling party. Now all are talking about patriotism, national interest and national prestige. CM, Delhi wants the media not to cover shortcomings; MCD wants Delhites to help cleaning the city; ruling party wants every citizen to ensure success of the game. Where were they for the last 8 years or so, when India offered to organize the game? Busy collecting money with both the hands! Now every effort is being made to complete the job before the game, at the cost of quality. I had long back commented on this column that the sequence of events clearly give an indication of contractor-official nexus, i.e. official ignoring quality of work for money paid by the contractors. Various committees are going to be set up after the games to enquire into the officials involved, but what would be the result of such enquiries, we all know. Suffice to comment now that CWG being an international event, the country’s prestige is at stake. Even if the stadia and other facilities remain intact till 15th of October, 2010 (last day of the event), the shortcomings noticed at the last minute as well as the noticeable corruption in the preparation till date, are enough evidences for the Prime Minister to own responsibility and announce resignation immediately after the games, for he is ruling the country for the last 10 years. Hope after such a long stint as PM of India, he has forgotten that he was once a bureaucrat, and does not wait for permission to sign the resignation letter.
