whispersinthecorridors is perfect govt officers news carrier. Aaj Ki Aawaz Yes there is noora kushti going on between Congress and BJP on FDI
in Retail... what bonds both is US!!!!! On one side there is the PM
who is a US flunky and on the other side is BJP which is out and out
pro US!!! And after US's problems with Islamic Terrorism BJP's grown
even more fonder of US!! NDA was pro retail ..... Congress is pro retail....
and ironically BJP faced opposition from Allies and today Congress is
facing opposition from its Allies!! Congress knew BJP and its Allies
would create a shindy on FDI and so this 'sudden decision'!!! Now coming
to us.... what worries us on FDI..... knowing Congress's penchant to
'give and take' at our cost... what khichdi has Congress pakoaed on
FDI... no transparency at all...... then what worries is the tweaking
of laws and duties etc., later to help out Wal-Mart and likes.... and
last but not least... if Wal-Mart and others flop there is every chance
our Government will bail them out at our cost!! And frankly not only
Congress, if and when BJP comes to power it'll too be 'on call' for
Wal-Mart and likes!!! Bharat Kumar BJP's tacit deal with Congress on FDI

Rural based parties, farmers want FDI !
Rural based parties, farmers, are rooting for FDI as finally they will get right prices. So far only traders corner 80% of prices of agricultural products, particularly vegetables, fruits. Trader backed parties are unhappy. Anybody make the connection ?

Every body should do the roles assigned to them correctly, then only they can vie for others posts. BSNL/MTNL have lost the intelligentsia.

Postal service running well only for powerful
I want to say something in response to R Verma remarks under heading 'Bleeding BSNL to the hilt and grinding MNTL to a standstill'. The postal service is running well only for those who are sitting in comfortable position of power and authority. Please ask those who are at receiving end of these self centered Delhi based officers who have never working in field having its no knowledge. This service has not put up the executive record sheet of its officers because then every one will know who all never move out of Delhi and sticking in one station for life. Other ones less fortunate with no 'mai baap' are kicking around and helpless. Sibal try his best and give directions to upload on website all property returns and Executive record sheet. Sorry to say these IPOS only put property returns under pressure from DOPT and diverting attention from ERS. They knowing they will be exposed and Minister Sibal will take them to task pointing out all those officers who have zero expertise in postal work as they remain forever on deputation knowing no any thing about the service.

Why this obduracy on FDI?
For the past one week the FDI in retail has created a ruckus. The Parliament has become dysfunctional to the great chagrin of people of India. Why Government had to open this front when it was already mired in several issues of criticism from the opposition? Cynics have several explanations. To deflect attention from price rise and black money of which in any case the opposition was going to raise hell in Parliament. Why this timing for Cabinet approval for FDI. Again the cynics attribute it to Prime Minister's meeting with Obama in Bali during ASEAN Summit wherein the President of USA must have reminded him to open the retail door to FDI soon. Whatever may be the reason, the opponents of FDI must go into the merits/demerits of the 51% FDI in multi-brand retail before taking a stand to oppose it just for the sake of opposition. Why the issue is not being allowed to be discussed in Parliament ? Why this obduracy on both the sides? It only shows all political parties are motivated by narrow self-interest rather than what is good for the country or the people at large. The traders we are talking of and who organized Bandh on Thursday are the same traders who sell us adulterated stuff, cheat us on prices, on quality, on weight. When they have to face the competition from world-famous multi or single brand retail outfits, they will improve their service. As for the job loss, has anyone calculated as to how many jobs will be lost and how many more created before jumping the gun. Enough is enough. Let the Parliament function. Let the Government - duly elected by people - function. Let people of this country have the choice to throw it out in the next election if it fails to deliver. Let them not give an excuse of opposition not letting them work if they fail to deliver.

Option of rejecting all candidates be included in voting machine itself
I am a voter in South Kolkata Parliamentary Constituency [Bhabanipore Assembly Constituency] . During the last by election day before yesterday on 30th November 2011, I went to exercise my right to vote. I told the officials that I would like to opt for the option "I don't like to vote" and wish to fill the form. All of them were ignorant about the provision and refused to accept such request. On my insistence they spoke to higher officials and the official told them the procedure [He himself was not confident] that my signature will be taken and the remark will be put accordingly. None of the officials were ready to bell the cat, but since I was adamant, they had to do it. The reaction of the polling agents of the political party was not good. They spoke loudly amongst themselves "Er identity note koro are voting card nombor note koro". This was to frighten me. But I was not afraid; I confidently told them my name and address. I wish that the option of rejecting all the candidate comes in the voting machine itself. So that the voters are not identified and they can escape the wrath of agents belonging to political parties. After all the election commission cannot come every day to secure us.
