If you thought middlemen are a strong lobby then you haven't seen the real strong one!
Wal-Mart .... what it says is done!!!

Why do you think Obama has been demanding opening up of India's retail sector??? Wal-Mart's pressure via Obama !!! And if Wal-Mart can pressurize US's President you can imagine what they'll do here!!! PM wanted to please Obama and so after his return from Bali he set the ball rolling on FDI..... though some would say it was out of his servility to Uncle Sam!!! Just see China.... US is its biggest importer and still China allowed Wal-Mart in only three Chinese Metros... Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen!! India too should have followed the Chinese Model!! And started with only 26%!!! But seems pressure from US was for 'majority stake'!!! No doubt Wal-Mart and likes will do away to some extent with the middleman.... but studies show that Wal-Mart and likes are Middleman, Wholesaler and Retailer all rolled into own... treble its profits.... fallacy to think Wal-Mart will pass over the 'middleman and wholesaler savings to the customers'!!! Yes initially there will be predatory pricing to drive out Mom and Pop Stores....once this objective is achieved they'll turn the tables on us!!! Walmart and likes have a track record of being 'slave shops'!!! Yes the front end of Big Ticket Retail looks good.... but the back end is a different story.... farmers are short changed and strong arm tactics are also used ....soon from friendly pricing for us it'll be 'demand' pricing! And we know how MRP is fiddled with and misused!!! On essentials , veggies and fruits ...why not cap their profit??

Farrouk Abdullah says reduce Democracy!!!!
Public demands reduce political autocracy!!!

Once our Netas come to power they are a law unto themselves!!! India is not suffering from an overdose of Democracy but from a watering down of Democracy!!! Farroukh's autocratic mindset was evident when he said post the NC Worker's alleged murder at J&K CM's house .... why is the opposition so worried as the man who dies was a NC worker.... meaning the NC worker was a bonded labourer of NC , which in effect is by the Abdullah's, of the Abdullah's and for the Abdullah's..... law stops at Abdullah households... official and private??? The only time our Netas recognize our presence is when they electioneer.... after getting elected we cease to exist!! Take Congress.... it's an autocracy running a namesake Democracy today!! Namesake because it is a watered down Democracy!!! Otherwise how could the PM of the Nation be reduced to a puppet??? How could Sonia run this Government by remote control??? In a flawed Democracy whistleblowers are murdered, beaten up and jailed and the culprits pull the ropes to 'erase' or browbeat the whistleblowers!!! In fact today PM is not called reformist but a 'deformist' ...... deformed every Institution on orders of his Boss!!! CBI which is the Nation's Premiere Investigation Agency has been made into a tool to cover up scum or create scum!!! Thankfully in the Judiciary there are 'islands of judiciousness'.... and one island is going to give a landmark Judgement on December 08!!

Wasn't Amar to go for lifesaving treatment overseas????
His name everyday in political related news one sees!!!

Amar Singh has a way with words!! He says he is pregnant with the cash for votes baby and if a DNA of the baby is done it'll create a storm!!! Fact is clinically the case was so obvious that we know what the DNA is like!!! QED is achieved by deducing who benefitted from cash for votes.... Congress!!!! And it is well known who handles such matters for Sonia and who heads Congress's Dirty Tricks Department!! And it's also obvious that Amar had nothing to gain from doing a hatchet job for BJP...... but had huge gains for doing it for Congress... that's another story that Congress uses him like 'toilet paper'.... I'm sure in his mind he must have thought 'this time I'll get my due'.... though another school of thought says ..... he's become shaana and takes his dues in cash and kind before execution of the job given to him!!

PS.... from no roll back in FDI in retail now Anand Sharma says Congress united on FDI in retail.... joke doing the rounds is PC knows how united Congress is on FDI in retail!!! Poor Rahul Baba he's back in 'his shell' ...... and they say when Rahul wants to think he flies to Dubai... of course we mortals do not even get a whiff of this!!!! Highest number of Farmer suicides in Maharashtra.... and there is Congress-NCP Government in Maharashtra, Agri Minister is Sharad Pawar..... and Farmers Messiah Rahul holds sway over UPA..... and Rahul had the guts to say UPites got to Mumabi as beggars...no reports of UPites committing suicide in Mumbai!!!By the way his onetime mascot was from Maharashtra... Kalawati.... though she takes this now as a curse!! This winter Commies in Delhi will be enjoying Kinnow juice... Manpreet Badal will keep them stocked from his Kinnow Farm!!! He is going to meet Maya in a last ditch effort..... he knows with BSP Sanjha Morcha may get 3-5 seats... without BSP.... 2-3 seats!!!!

Keeping Group C outside Lokpal

Keeping the group C employees outside the purview of Lokpal can provide an easy way out to corrupt public servants by accepting bribe money through Group C employees instead of taking it directly. It is common knowledge that extortion money/hafta collected by police constables is shared by their corrupt seniors in many cases. Further how a composite case having involvement of Group C and Group A will be investigated by Lokpal if group C employee was outside the purview of Lokpal. Architecture of corruption is structurally so strong that any half hearted approach will boomerang on those who may be lulled into making complaint in the hope that Lokpal will take effective action..

FDI needs to be understood

FDI needs to be understood before the furore for favour and against. FDI succeeds only when the host country already have well established 'BRAND" names. In India this is where we have failed, except for Tata in automobile, Reliance, Godrej and few more to some extend are hardly international brands. Thus, resultant like East India Company, India to provide raw material and labour and value added profits to go to FDI countries. Thus, before opening doors for FDI important to have Indian Brands. Not just that, the FDI will be flooded with quality branded goods of China, East and West and poor Indian cousin will be relegated.

Do not allow the publication to be misused

Khuswant Singh in HT described Dr. Manmohan Singh as ablest of able and honest Prime Minister India has ever had. I believe even Dr. Singh would not describe himself better than Late Indira Gandhi; Rajiv Gandhi; Nehru and Atal Behari Vajpayee etc. If this is the state of affairs in this country wherein no body is willing to address black money; Lokpal; inflation despite unearthing of various scams. High inflation; large unaccounted black money and spiralling price of property since the year 2004 coinciding with UPA Government under the ablest and honest PM, then it will be easily imagined as to what would have happened if this country is not being headed by ablest PM. This is common knowledge that property sector is safest and high return yield sector to hide and park ill-gotten money. There are lot of properties vacant in Delhi but the owners are not willing to sell because of strong withholding capacities. The time has come HT should come up with unbiased reporting and do not allow the publication to be misused under the disguise of 'the views of the author are personal'.

RTI

Should the Property returns be disclosed?

The applicant sought the copies about the movable and immovable property returns of an IAS Officer for a particular period. The PIO consulted the officer in terms of the provisions of Section 11 of the RTI Act. The officer objected to giving the details stating that the property file returns is purely a personal matter and is not related with any public activity or interest. In line with the view taken by the CIC in numerous decisions in the past, the Commission upheld the decision of the PIO not to disclose such information. The CIC has consistently held that the immovable property returns filed by officers are their personal information and should not be ordinarily disclosed. Section 8 (1)(j) of the RTI Act exempts such information from disclosure. The CIC observed that in recent months, on their own several state governments have published the immovable property returns filed by the All India Service officers in their respective websites. Therefore, the Commission directed the CPIO to ascertain from the State Government of Uttar Pradesh about this and disclose the information to the Complainant provided such returns have already been published by the State Government.

Comments

Immovable Property Return (IPR) of a government servant is a personal information and is not liable for disclosure under the RTI Act.
