Aaj Ki Aawaz
Congress's slogan in UP ' abh humm jawab dhenge'!!!
Reminds me of Rajiv's flop campaign slogan ' Naani yaad karraa dhenge'!!!
There is no way in UP or for that matter anywhere in India that Congress
can give jawaab on corruption , inflation, mismanagement etc.!! When
it comes to corruption the only response that Congress has is BJP was
more corrupt, which Public does know is a lie!!! On inflation its either
Indians are eating too much or global factors.... and the former will
make Public see red and the latter is looked upon by Public as a 'fataa
or gupp'!! Mismanagement... again BJP bashing.... in BJP rule this happened
and that happened...... Congress always paints Opposition blacker than
what Congress perceives itself to be!! Congress wants UP to move away
from caste and religion politics... whereas its own minority appeasement
makes its want/advice look hollow..... be it BSP, BJP or SP all three
are steeped in caste and religion politics.... and for a reason!! Rahul
is being positioned as an angry young man.... and believe me he's going
to meet a multitude of angry young men who feel 'Congress has let down
the Nation'.... in fact he met some prior at the rally site and were
thrashed by Jitin Prasad and Pramodh Tiwari!!!! In an attempt to give
up his chocolaty look Rahul has grown a stubble to cover up his dimples!!
Fact is despite the stubble the dimples are there and despite Congress
trying to fib and fob on corruption, inflation and mismanagement the
blots on it remain!! In his speeches Rahul is going to publicize his
Dalit home-stays....fact is he stayed in Maharashtra Kalawati's house
and see what happened to her.... Kalawati was not chosen because of
her political affiliation??? Whereas wherever he stayed in UP you got
to hear 'Rahul stayed in a Congress supporters house'!!! At best Congress
can hope of becoming King Maker with either BSP or SP..... will be a
post poll alliance.....and if this does take place Congress will tom-tom
it as Rahul's victory!!! Bottom line is Rahul has staked his political
future in the upcoming UP election... though knowing Congress I'm sure
Congress has an excuse ready if Rahul fails!!
Seems Shangrila in Maldives got PM in a real good mood!!
Our mind is swayed by location , music and food!!
Shangrila in Maldives, like its name suggests is 'beautiful'!! Knowing
that PM is a Mirza Ghalib 'bhagat' the hosts must have got hold of Jagjit
Singh's recitation of Galib's shayri and played it of the music system
in his room and for food they must have served him 'tandoori roti, karela
and channe ki dal'..... now all this and Shangrila must have got PM
in a really good mood... result.... his literally even shocking Gilani
with his over friendliness!!! How could PM say that Pak Army is playing
a constructive role in peace process?? This trust deficit coming down
to zero is hogwash..... on the ground India would be naive to trust
Pakistan!!! Only hope now Mohna in his gung-ho mood does not side with
Omar on AFSPA!!!! Some people in the Valley say that viewing his gaffe
ridden term as CM Omar was advised to rake AFSPA to divert attention
and get everyone busy achieve and achieve two objectives...... after
all he still has to answer for that NC fixer's murder. Looks like NC's
aim is that this case goes into rigmortis!!! And we know news has a
limited shelf life!!! The other objective being to tacitly side with
the terror lot...... NC and PDP both are known to run with the hare
and hunt with the hounds... Omar's statement that 'solution should be
such that both WE and Army are happy'..... very damaging statement....
who are WE?????
In UP the battle is starting but in Punjab its already begun!!!!
For Badals via his gob Amrinder has started to gun!!
Amrinder's gone ballistic on the Badals!!! Badals are demanding PM clarify
on Amrinder's so said foreign assets (cash, gold and property), Manpreet
is waiting and watching!! Manpreet's Sanjha Morcha is more like Sanjha
Chulla... common or village chulla or hearth where villagers come and
make rotis!! He's got all the losing Parties under one umbrella in the
hope that when they come together they'll add up to become winners....
his arithmetic has flaws and he'll learn his lesson in this election!!!
It is also known that both Amrinder and Badals have a 'no vendetta pact'
and so despite the allegations there will be no action on allegations
when either one comes to power!! Manpreet of course is a different story.....
he'll just be ignored!!!
PS......if Digvijay replaces Ahmed Bhai then what will Ahmed Bhai do???
Power withdrawal and that too the type of power that Ahmed Bhai enjoyed
could have a very negative impact on him... so like Soni he'll be given
a Cabinet Berth!! Mukesh's tacit message 'Government should pull up
its socks' has not been taken lightly by Congress.... they know he's
pro Modi...... but viewing the fact that Mukesh has his own clout Congress
Spokesman will refrain from commenting and moreover for the past few
months Mukesh's Jet has been on 'ferrying duty' ..... Delhi- New York!!!
Team Anna and Team Anna workers.... beware....Congress has issued 'bash
at sight orders' in UP and Punjab!!! Replace Bhawri with Zubedha.....
Maderna with some Gujarat BJP Leader.... and change location from Rajastan
to Gujarat.... Congress would be crying form every rooftop for Justice
for Zubeda..... the BJP Leader would be in jail and not in hospital!

Who is responsible?
It is very easy to criticize the government servants for slow decision
making. But who has been responsible, the businessmen themselves, wherein
they had started extending ill gotten money leading to scams. Every
body wants to be cautious in his decision making.

Hopeless government
This government is most hopeless. It is only concerned about winning
Uttar Pradesh elections. Tell me, what step it has taken to reduce the
petrol prices. Why public has to suffer incompetence, wastage, lavish
lifestyle of officers in oil PSUs like ONGC, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum,
Hindustan Petroleum. Why government does not withdraw LTC facilities,
foreign and domestic, full furnishing of houses to the tune of lakhs
sanctioned to officers, the luxury cars, five star hotel conferences
enjoyed by officers of these PSUs and through them by the various under
secretaries, deputy secretaries, joint secretaries, additional secretaries
and secretaries in the ministry controlling them. The government owes
an explanation to the people why austerity measures have not been taken.
Why has the wastage not been stopped. Why the corrupt officers are not
being dismissed which will further save money as these organisations
are over staffed. Why oil pilferage is not stopped, why black marketing
is not stopped and why Jaipal Reddy sends request for a GoM so frequently
for increasing price of petrol. Why the GoM does not ask him to come
back with a full proof strategy of how he has saved money and taken
austerity measures. Why all the time we should suffer? We want concrete
action now.

Fish the King
The white collar criminal 'SATYAM' Raju was arrested for swindling
Rs7000crores despite books of accounts reflecting profits, the other
side of the same coin is Kingfisher Vijay Mallya swindling Rs8900 crores
through profligacy, squandering reflecting as carry forward loss is
seeking bailout not jail! banks with growth in NPAs in 2011 should avoid
such financial accommodation. Rahul bajaj should amend his statement
that kingfisher death is not natural but murder in corporate governance.
Supreme court of India called for lifting the veil of corporates decade
back yet they brazenly mismanage public limited companies thanks to
their henchmen managing the government. It is high time corporate affairs
ministry enact law to take atleast two from organised services like
IAS IPS IRS IAAS IRTS IPoS etc on to the board of Directors on companies
whose turnover is Rs 50 crore above and subject to independent evaluation
by CAG through forensic audit on embezzlement, mismanagement on all
loss making public limited companies on year to year basis. All corporate
board of directors be brought under Jan Lok pal bill on par with any
public servant as substantial public stake is involved. Let the government
ensure that aam admi do not occupy Delhi to control corporate greed!

Bail out demand for Kingfisher
In our country, the expenditure from the public money is sanctioned
by Parliament in annual budget exercise. Even for government department,
it is difficult to incur expenditure on new schemes. Moreover, Government
incurs expenditure under the strict control of GFRs etc. How the demand
for bail out from public money is justified is a moot question. The
management has been spending the funds as per their whim and will without
accountability to Government and more relevant is that there may be
en number of petty businessmen who have suffered losses during downtime
and are facing civil and criminal litigation. Whether Government should
not intervene to rescue these small businessmen who would have been
managing their business with utmost care being their own money. Where
is the equality. If there is certain issues ailing airlines as a sector,
then this may be looked upon from the industry perspective.
The very thought of bailing out Mallya's Kingfisher airlines is outrageous.
This is his business. As Rahul Bajaj the industrialist says in a free
market economy anyone can start any business and compete with others
in the same business. He makes a profit or incurs losses is his business.
Why Government should step in to rescue him and that too a man so profligate
dubbed as king of good times. With a yacht, a private jet and more than
two dozens houses around the world does he need this charity from the
banks. How could anyone even think of extending financial package to
a man who has plenty of riches to spend upon horse racing and wild parties
in his myriad villas with beautiful women brought in from around the
world. A super rich flamboyant person who owns stud farms, IPL and Formula
1 teams. When asked ,in the recent Grand Prix event in India, why he
was not having Indian drivers for his Formula one team he arrogantly
answered "It is my business' Kingfisher Airlines is also your business
Mr. Mallya. Why ask the Government to bail you out'. Those of his friends
in the social or Government circuit who strongly make a case for supporting
him are certainly no friends of the country. They are making a strong
case for 'Occupy'. Do not they know what Occupy Wall street is all about.99
percent against 1 percent. The 1 percent corporate heads in America
drawing fabulous salaries and paying no higher taxes. They are pampered
because they fund the politicians while the 99 percent face so very
uncertain future. Here too in India the big corporate houses have made
tons of money after liberalisation with legal as well as illegal activities.
With this acquired wealth they are leading opulent lives displaying
their riches in such a vulgar extravaganza while a large section of
people are still not able to manage two decent meals in a day and where
children are dying in dozens every day because of malnutrition and lack
of medical care. Do these corporates care for those hungry, sick and
homeless fellow countrymen. Why should then we think of promoting their
failing business. Let Mallya bail himself out by disposing some of his
assets, yacht and jets. Let him close the airline business and keep
on earning profits from his other businesses.

Anna should show opportunists the door
No one would have bothered about Kiran Bedi,if she has not climbed
the high moral pedestal, lecturing to others about corruption. What
she did by stealing the medical seat for her daughter which otherwise
would have gone to an underprivileged Manipuri tribal boy or girl is
morally corrupt. Her action in over invoicing airfares is also morally
corrupt and is indefensible. As also her insulting the gallantry award.
One also would like to know how she managed to remain in Delhi(except
for a couple months in Manipur) through out her carrier. After violating
all bureaucratic moral codes during their service time, people should
not be allowed to self promote after retirement lecturing to others
and even carrying out fashion shows on Anna's platform. Of Bedi I am
reminded about the old biblical quote? But let the one who has never
sinned throw the first stone!". It is time Anna show these opportunists
the door otherwise the credibility of the core team will be lost.

Government seems to have woken
Government seems to have woken to increase in rate of interest of PPF
and other such Government controlled instruments. GPF is another such
instrument whose remittances comes from hard earned salary of central
government employees. GPF's rate of interest used to be equivalent/or
little less EPF (Employees Provident Fund) in which govt also shares
a part of equity. Over the last almost 8-10 years the GPF rate of interest
is around 8% and whereas EPF has been at 9 to 9.5%. If govt is not interested
in giving equivalent rate of interest to GPF contributors why it is
holding the money, let employees be allowed to withdraw the money and
invest in the instruments which are giving better instruments. When
Govt. is not bothered about the interests of its employees why should
employess this GPF amount with govt. who are returning the least interest
to them and utilising this big amount on higher returns. Justice should
be done with employees and employees GPF should be given at least the
same rate of interest as is being offered to EPF as money has no colour,
caste, creed, - Let Justice Prevail

RTI
Free travel by police
The Applicant wanted to confirm whether a wireless message i.e. WTM
dt. 15/16.09.1997 was issued by the then Chief Minister of Delhi allowing
Delhi Police personnel to travel for free in Delhi Transport Corporation
(DTC) buses in contravention of the decision of the cabinet No. 259
dt. 28.06.1997. It was intimated to the Applicant that the records relating
to the issue of WTM dated 15.09.1997 are not available with the office
of the public authority. The Appellant claimed that the Delhi Police
personnel are still travelling free of charge on DTC buses resulting
in loss of revenue amounting to over Rs. 60 crores annually. In view
of the above unsettled dispute between the Delhi Police and the DTC,
the CIC recommended that the Principal Secretary, Transport Department,
Government of NCT of Delhi settle this dispute between the two organizations
decisively through an order or notification by December end. The CIC
also directed the PIO to file an affidavit before the Commission - with
a copy to the Appellant - affirming that the public authority has no
document authorizing the Delhi Police Personnel to travel free on DTC
buses.

The above case indicates how RTI Act can be used not only to obtain
information but also get directions issued for some action by the public
authorities. Shri Ajay Kumar Gaur v. Office of the Chief Minster, Delhi
