Aaj Ki Aawaz

Advani says he has two families... one his ideological family and the other his natural/physical family! He forgets the family that has been paying for his kitchen and for his lifestyle... and that is We The People!!! After all it is on his MPs salary that he runs his house and maintains his lifestyle... or does he have some other source of income???? Advani's demand that BJP MP's submit 'no overseas assets' letter is just a charade!!! Why don't BJP MPs submit affidavits saying that they have no overseas assets and in case such assets do exist then they waive the 'client - customer secrecy via which those holding the assets are bound' of course with retrospective effect ........thus paving the way for info to be released under the 'new info cooperation with say Switzerland and Switzerland's efforts to rid itself of dirty political money' ? And with this affidavit they should submit copies of their passports! Advani can lead by example .....with his natural/physical family!! Even if he never had an overseas account he'll not do this for two reasons..... one .... he'll face opposition from within BJP...... two.... many in the Congress with whom Advani has a 'dual relationship .... 'public and personal' will exert pressure on him not to do so!!

Ghadkari and Rajnath know they cannot become PM so they are piggybacking!!!

And that is why Advani's candidature for PM they are backing!!

Very rightly said by Mark Tully.... too much power rests in 10 Janpath when in actuality 7 RCR should be the power centre!!! Tully has also said ' that Rahul is trying a repeat of what Mulayam had done 'fight from within with the masses'... but because of his security Rahul's going to find doing what Mulayam has done very difficult'.... and then Mulayam 'invented himself as a grass root leader'.... Rahul is the parachuting kind and hence is unsuited for a repeat of what Mulayam has done!! And what is irking is that despite running this Government by remote control Sonia and Rahul have never expressed her views on vital issues..... this veil of secrecy suits her style of functioning as it also gives them manoeuvrability...... like meeting Anna's reps and then retracting.......like after getting Government to think on revocation of AFSPA Sonia quietly did a turnaround!!! India craves for Leadership... and sorry to say today India is Leaderless.... some people go to extent of saying today Pranab Da is running this Government.... Sonia is sick... Rahul is too engrossed with UP..... PM is travelling....PC is doing whatever he can to get Swamy off his back!! Hope Sonia and Rahul introspect....they need to keep up with the changing scenario..... all of a sudden Indians have realized that Royalty was abolished long time back..... MPs are our reps not our Rulers!!!

If India has to move!!!

Then India has to be pushed out of the 10 Janpath groove!!

Government moves in mysterious ways.... first Government hinted on bailing out Kingfisher.... then Government announced ... no bailout!! Now it's said LIC has been 'ordered' to buy 10% stake in Kingfisher!!! Under Mallya Kingfisher is a lost case!! What was needed was Government should have got proactive and 'ensured that Mallya sold out to say Ambanis ot Tatas'!!! Mallya should have been more than willing because his UB shares would have gone up by 20%!!! So now LIC will be throwing good money at a 'lost case'!!!! Now it's also being said that Sahara will be investing in Kingfisher......Roy has already burnt his fingers in the Airline business and he knows Kingfisher is a lost case so why is he investing..... well he'll invest in the role of a 'moneylender'..... and he will take collateral... he has an eye on a few of Mallya's assets!!! And please do not ask from where does Sahara gets all this money????? Though I'll give you a hint..... be it Mulayam or Maya or BJP or Congress ..... no one will target Roy when there is a Government changeover!!!He was close to Mulayam but when Maya took over she did not target him.... though she targeted quite a few Mulayam flunkies!!

A Businessman sometimes has to be a good actor too!!!

Because if politically it gets 'too hot' then acting of being terminally ill he can do!!

Ps....Maya has literally set the cat amongst pigeons!!! Literally punctured Rahul's 'mass contact plan'..... he will have to take sides on the division of UP... and people will not understand Congress's 'delay by appointing a Commissions' ruse!! Mulayam is worried the most!!! Manu Sharma has been let out on parole... one condition is he will not got to discos and bars... well with the money he has 'if Mohamed cannot go to the mountain the mountain will come to Mohamed'..... Dad Sharma will ensure Sonny has a good time.....as it is there are rumours that there is a way via which those who are locked up in Tihar and can pay can enjoy a night out of jail!!

No, because your political clout only counts. Your delivery, honesty and contribution has no place.

Are you suggesting in your column that post of IT Secretary cannot be filled up for ONE YEAR because GOI cannot decide whether Secretary should be IAS or Technocrat.Ver sad state of GOVENANCE .

T K Ghosh

Amazed at personal snipings of present DGCA

I am amazed at the repeated personal snipings of the present DGCA by some of your contributors. As one connected with Aviation Industry, I know the condition of this directorate when the so called professionals were at the helm. The issuing of bogus flying licences and running bogus flying schools without even a single aircraft, all started during their tenure. Most of the DGCA staff were connected one way or other with private airlines, even seniors like Dy DGCA's, who are true professionals, involved in such cases. It is a matter of appreciation that the present DGCA in a short span of his tenure could bring in so much change in the system. Apart from scrutinizing the large number of bogus licences issued during the previous regimes and taking action against erring pilots ,he has also conducted a complete survey of the six dozen flying schools all over the country, closing down many. It is also a matter of appreciation that he is able to completely computerize the test system so that pilots need not walk behind officials with cash bags. It is also to his credit that he has taken action to fill up the large number of vacancies in the directorate which has not been done by his predecessors. It must be noted that the directorate was working with less than 25% of the staff strength all these years. As far as Kingfisher case is concerned what 'professional approach' do these writers expect from DGCA. Ground all Kingfisher flights and create mayhem in the aviation industry? I feel he is doing the most matured and professional approach to the problem in close coordination with the present Secretary who himself is a past DGCA. In his efforts to cleanse up the Augean stables, he might have stepped on many sensitive toes and these snipings may be a reflection of their frustration.

Capt N K Gupta

Why so much against Cong?

Is it because this channel is based in Bhopal (currently ruled by the BJP) that it is so much against the Congress party?

A K Singh

Ponder more on this

I think you must ponder more on this as his seniority is issue and not the review of DPC. Court has already cleared him for elevation as GM (Open Line)

RTI

Non appearance of the respondents before the Commission

Vide order dated 15 September 2011, the CIC had directed that the CPIO must provide the desired information to the Appellant. The CIC further directed that the officer who had received the RTI application but preferred not to act on it thereby preventing the information seeker from getting the information, should appear before the CIC to explain if he had any reasonable cause for his inaction. The CIC noted that in spite of such clear direction, nobody turned up for the hearing. Holding that non-appearance of the respondent shows that the officer concerned has no explanation to offer, the CIC imposed the maximum penalty of Rs. 25,000/- on the Branch Manager of the bank. Further, the CIC directed to provide the information sought for in the application.

Comments

A PIO must use the opportunity to present his case before the Commission during the personal hearing. Failing to utilise this opportunity may cost him dearly.
