Painful story of all civil servants

This is about admission of wards at Sanskriti school at Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. This school is meant for civil servants and run by wives of cilvil servants. Of which Cabinet secretary's wife is the chairperson.

Cabinet secretary is supposed to lead all the bureaucrats with utmost transparency but in this school, the admissions are done according to the whims and fancy of management.

On enquiry, the school says that the seats are not given due to limited availability which means they decide as per their wish.

Whereas, other schools are giving the points and in case of tie, draw of lots is done which means there is cent percent transparency which is certainly lacking at Sanskriti school.

It would of great help if whispers in the corridors could do something to increase the transparency and do justice.

It is learnt through informal channels that one can get admission, if willing to pay hefty sum for the seat.

I need your guidance and request you to maintain secrecy while publishing this news on your website.

Being soft doesn't means losing self respect

What America has done to our students who got duped by a fake University is absolutely despicable. How can the victims be the criminals. These students were issued valid visas. Why the visa issuing officials did not check up the credentials of the Tri valley University. They also have a hand in this fraud. Imagine after duping these innocent children they are being humiliated by these radio tags on their ankles. What is more painful is the attitude of our cowardly Government to the plight of their own citizens. S.M Krishna's advice to the media not to publicise the plight of these students because they are few in number is outrageous. Ask America, Krishna if you do this kind of thing to even one of their citizen they will wage a war against you. You are not bothered. Why is our goody goody Prime minister silent on this insult to our students, nay ,to our nation. Why cannot he pick up phone and protest to President Obama. How can he? We are too overawed by America. Why? Today They need us more than we need them. Did President Obama not come here looking for trade and jobs for his countrymen and we did oblige him. He went away with so many agreements to propel the industry there so that thousands of jobs are available to the unemployed of America. This bailed him out of a difficult political situation. And this is the reward we get-of putting shackles around the ankles of our boys and girls treating them like animals and look at the remarks of that lady official in the American Consulate in Hyderabad making fun by suggesting that these radio tags are fashion statement and are popular by stars in Hollywood. Rotten to the core is this act. But more rotten is the response of our Government to this provocation. What is our embassy in Washington doing ? just sleeping. But then they insulted our Ambassador also by frisking her at an airport. What did we do ? A mild protest. Why should we not have frisked their man here similiarly. Only if we were not a soft state with no self-respect, Indians in this situation would not have felt like orphans.

Only criticism but no solution

I had been following and reading lot of write ups by different people about disparity and supremacy in different services. Everyone was talking about the supremacy of IAS etc. No one has come up with any solution to the ill-will against each other as a Government/Civil/public servant. To me the only solution to this problem would be to have only 11 pay scales/pay bands in Government of India (including Defence services) and the same hold good for States i.e. there also pay scales should be the same. The only difference should be of HRCA/CCA/Transport. The recruitment should be from the lowest grade/pay band. depending upon city you are posted. All recruitment should be from the lowest pay band and promotions should be on the basis of performance, delivery, results and not that everyone is promoted with his batch. Fastest mode of dismissal for corrupt people in the GOI/State.

The government should come up with a mid-career Civil Services exam in which all services (including with heart burns like CSS CSSS, Technocrats etc) including private sector employees could apply. This can allow the government to get fresh ideas + get another level playing field.
