What people say about us !
Rename it! Call it "TIMES and News of New India". Amazing how you do it. Reminds me of Times of India of 60's, 70's and 80's. Today just not NRI's, but corporate, Diplomats, Heads of States and all those who matter can't forget to visit this News Temple. Though the state of Congress Party in India saddens me. They can't decide on a Cabinet reshuffle, can't punish the corrupt and Congress President has to "request" her Political secretary to accept Rajya Sabha nomination. India wants to be Super Power and Rahul Gandhi does not want to take over reins of power of Younger India?

Aaj Ki Aawaz

How is Congress calling Rahul's padyatra and mahapanchayat a success??? During the padyatra he failed to answer people's questions on inflation and corruption…… and then he cut short his padyatra…. part because he had no answers to people's questions and part because he missed his bed and loo!!! His Dalal allegation feel flat on its face……. How can we forget his Dad's war cry against Dalas and then what happened after this war cry……just to jog his memory….. Uncle Q!!!!! The mahapanchayat was a flop because Congress expected a 1 lakh plus turnout but only 20,000 turned up and out of these 50% were Congress workers and some of them even came dressed like farmers!!! So the drama is very evident!!! And to learn about Farmers woes he did not need to go to UP……. their woes are well known!!!!! I hear Farmers in UP have seen through Rahul's drama!!

Rahul's UP outing was akin to ' khaaya piya kuch nahi glaas thodaa aat aana' (useless)!!

Would not be surprised if Farmers hold a mahapanchayat and pass resolution ' Rahul yahaa pe mathh aana'!!

Cabinet Reshuffle has to be a biggie viewing the fact that Sonia and Mohna have been holding so many meetings!!! Mohna is one of the few on whom she bounces ideas!!! And it is evident that she's the Boss because she does not come to 7 RCR but Mohna goes to 10 Janpath…….'Mohammed don't come to molehill'!! Really this Lady has made the Office of the Indian Prime Minister into a joke…… in fact now even Obama, who was a fan of Mohna, has realized that Mohna is a puppet…… I'm sure Mohna will see the change in Obama's attitude when he meets Obama next and for that matter Heads of a few other Nations!! I feel there will be some change in the top four..... otherwise how can this reshuffle be justified as a 'makeover'????

Even if he's not in agreement with the Cabinet reshuffle Mohna will gulp it down!!!

Otherwise like in Western movies 'he'll be drummed out of town (Delhi)'!!!

BJP does not seem to be too bothered about CBI questioning Communication Ministers when NDA was in power……. Pramod is 'incommunicable' and Shourie has all the answers…… in fact some will make Congress squirm even more!!! But people in the know say that it is a fact that Pramod made a fortune from his stint as Communication Minister….. how do you think his son could burn the smack he was taking on Rs. 1000 notes????? And its rumored that he helped RCom , which was still in its infancy. Why do you think Vajpayee agreed to Advani's call to shift Pramod????? In all probability as the main protagonist has gone yonder and cannot be questioned I think the investigation will reach a dead end in Pramod's case and in Shourie's case after a while CBI will run away from quesitoning him!!

Why do you think BJP still sings ' oh jaane waale account settle karne ke liya ho sakke toh laut ka aana'???

BJP would like to settle the account to the last aana!!!!

Karuna has just made one demand…….he wants a DMK Leader to be made Minister of Jail in Shiela's Cabinet…his logic is this Ministry can be outsourced to a UPA ally in the Central Government and more so when the ally has surrendered its rights for Cabinet Berths in the Central Cabinet so what's so grteat about giving a 'teensy weensy' Ministry in the Delhi Government and before the 6 months period for election comes up DMK will return the Ministry to Congress…either will not be needed as all the 2 G lot will get bail by then or needful would have been done.. and we all know why…….. not only for Kani but he's scared after he came to know Raja's taking 'singing lessons' from one of the 2 G players in Tihar and may start to sing!!

Geet gaaya Raje ……..Karuna ka bajj gaya band!!

Now it being said in Batcha's murder not Raja but there was someone else ka hand!!

PS……Mamtha needs to pull of Mukul Roy for saying ' I'm 1000 miles from the accident and if PM asks me I will go'…… or was he trying to say 'I'm 1000 miles away so I cannot be blamed for the accident and as I am MOS if resignation has to be demanded it's the PM's resignation that should be demanded'!!!

Political appeasement to to take a new turn in Maharashtra?

With the coming Municipal elections in the state political appeasement is taking a new turn it is likely that the slums that have been built till the year 2000 will be regularised by the Municipal Corporation. This is important as slum redevelopment in Dharavi, airport development and extension in Mumbai, and building the metro rail network is likely to displace many living in the slums and shanties that dot all over Mumbai. Going by the current statistics 78 percent of Mumbai lives in slums. It is to be seen whether political will or development wins the race.

Retirement age be 65 years

Retirement age at 65 is the only thing that we expect from PM and Sonia to boost the morale of the honest govt servants who are now drowned in anticipation of early retirment when others work till 65 or more, especially the corrupt and spineless.

Why should we have a MT at all?

V Sahay has set up the example and worked very well all along. Earlier also the unwritten rule was that whosoever was CRB used to have his own department with him. in any case, CRB does not have full day's work. at least some relief to the exchequer can be arranged. one babu less means almost a few crores saved. GMs also will be having less officers from board inspecting them. We all know what inspection in Railway means. parties and sightseeing galore. Gifts are incidental.

Scoop of the week :

In our daily lives how often do we get disturbed by one or two failures?

But getting or not getting disturbed ….is our choice!

Lets see how Edison responded to his failures…….

Thomas Edison tried two thousand different materials in search of a filament for the light bulb.

When none worked satisfactorily, his assistant complained, "All our work is in vain. We have learned nothing."

Edison replied very confidently, "Oh, we have come a long way and we have learned a lot. We now know that there are two thousand elements which we cannot use to make a good light bulb."

RTI

Minutes of meeting

Minutes of the meeting of the Religious Committee were denied u/s 8(1) (a) and 8(1) (g) claiming that it contains a report regarding law and order received from Delhi Police which is marked as Secret. In response to a show cause notice for imposition of penalty, the CPIO & Joint Secretary (Home) submitted that when the RTI application was received he was on leave. He explained that when the First Appellate hearing was held he became aware of the RTI application. He further
informed that the information was denied since there was some tension at that time because of demolition of certain religious structures. Since the minutes revealed issues regarding different religious structures, he felt that revealing the information could lead to some strife. While dropping the penalty proceedings, the PIO was warned by the CIC to ensure that some reasons are detailed when claiming exemption.

Comments

Merely stating an exemption without giving any reasons cannot be a valid ground to deny information under the RTI Act. A CPIO must outline the reasons, at least briefly, when denying the information. A CPIO should ensure that proper system to receive an application is in
place even in his absence.
