Aaj Ki Aawaz

Congress sponsored book on its history blames Sanjay Gandhi and Zail Singh for Punjab's dark days!!!! Fact of the matter is I Gandhi was behind the 'create a fire and then blow it out' for political gains in Punjab ...... only things got out of hand!!!! Some go to the extent of saying that I Gandhi's animosity with Meneka was so acute that she took her anger out on Meneka's religion......this point can be verified from Kushwant Singh who was in the thick of things at that time!!!! Who will Congress blame for the 1984 genocide????? Maybe they'll put the blame on the white powder that suddenly appeared and on its own and went about burning Sikhs ands their properties!!! Vir Singhvi has already attempted to mislead us on Rajiv's 'Big Tree' statement.......this statement was a signal to Congress Leaders to teach Sikhs a lesson.... kill, loot, rape at will!!! What about the Bhopal Tragedy ...... who will be blamed for letting off the UCC top brass????? Maybe they'll blame someone in the Home Ministry and someone in the Aviation Ministry ...... both connived to let Anderson fly out!!!!! Then there is meddling in Sri Lanka and IPKF........Bofors!!!!! And ironic part is this book has been edited by Congress's firefighter Pranab Da ........firefighter edited the book that tries to blow out raging fires in Congress's history!!! Anand Sharma via his contribution to this book has paid his dues to his High Command for giving him such a crucial portfolio!!!

People who play with people's lives have to pay the price!!!!!

And Gandhi family has paid this price thrice ( sad but a fact)!!!!

PC and Kapil Sibal say there are differences in the Civil Society on the Lokpal Bill...... there are no differences whatsoever amongst the five Civil Society nominees!!!! It's the Congress sponsored entrants into the Civil Society who from outside are trying to create problems!!!! Congress..... why Congress all the Netas...... have whatever is crossable crossed that these 5 Civil Society Members walk out and then 5 new Members who are 'suitable are inducted!!! It's a good thing that Agnivesh was kept out at the very start......he's a trouble maker....... Neta in a Swami's robes!!! He has his own political agenda!!!!! The other one in saintly robes trying to push his agenda is Ramdev!!!! Ramdev feels he's in a win win situation...... gets publicity which means his political prominence goes up!!!! He's spending crores on his proposed fast....... see the pandals being put up...... renting crowds..... and I understand he's already hired a PRO to get maximum coverage!!!!

All Netas in public say Lokpal is a must!!!!

And behind the scenes all of them are working to ensure Lokpal Bill goes bust!!!

Manmohan Singh has no credibility!!!! Such huge scams took place and Mohna sat twiddling his thumbs!!! In fact in the initial stages of the 2 G scam revelation he even sided with Raja!!!! Now he says Indian Nuclear programme is safe and mind you he said this and people started to worry!!!!! And the same goes for Sonia!!!! After all people do know that at whose behest Mohna has been whitewashing or playing 'blind man buff'!!! Of course Congressmen and Government Agencies would be advising them that their popularity is on the rise!!!!

Mohna will go down as the PM whose Cabinet was the most corrupt Cabinet India had!!!!

And it'll be said he allowed his image to go into the pits because of his loyalty to Sonia and her lad!

Maran will have to resign..... and he too may end up in Jail like Kani!! Kani got Raja to do the needful and Maran did it himself!! So not the 2 G scam chori amount goes up from 1.76 to 2 lakh crores!! DMK has literally milked.... sorry people say raped the National exchequer via the Communication Portfolio allocated to it!!! Indians are skeptical whether in the end justice will prevail...... because when it comes to Netas and Bigwigs Justice has been made to fail!!!

Seems Raja, Kani and Maran threw caution to the hawaa!!!!

They recklessly followed the adage ' cook all the rotis you can when you have a hot tawaa'!!!

Next Lok Sabha-Congress and BJP to get less than 100 seats ?

The way a self interested mother and a bunch of sycophants and self seeking politicians with the help of a servile press are thrusting an unprepared, uneducated and unsuitable forty plus youth as the ruler of this nation, will not auger well for all of us. His track record in the Parliament itself shows his ineptitude and incompetence. Last year when the average attendance of MPs was 77, Rahul's was 17.As against the average questions asked by MPs was 119,Rahul had not asked even a single question. Similarly while average debates attended by MPs were 15.6,Rahul had not participated even in one. We know how a low IQ, Rajiv, who was also thrust on the nation by dynasty retainers, was fooled by SriLankan President to involve our Army in Sri Lanka and with what disastrous effects on the morale of the Army as well as our nation. The dynasty sycophants are keeping Rahul, away far from public debates(so that he will not expose his caliber) by huddling him in SC bastis under the glare of a benign Press and occasionally allowing him to come out and mouth foolish statements. In the last election campaign in Kerala, people were aghast when he thrust his arguments on the age of otherwise fit, CM, VS Achuthanadan, when his own party was supporting a wheel chair bound and 88 year old CM, Karunanidhi in the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. One thousand years of slavery and servitude to foreign invaders has inculcated a culture in many of us especially Hindus a chamcha and servile culture which will take years to eradicate. What we find around Rahul is this culture.

Indefinite fast of Swami Ramdev

The Government has become jittery about the proposed Satyagraha and indefinite fast of Swami Ramdev. All efforts are being made to make him agree to give up his June 4 fast. The four ministers met him at Delhi airport to dissuade him from his Satyagraha and why not. The massive crowds Ramdev draws at every Yoga Camp and the boggling number which is joining him in his crusade is fantastic. I realised this the other day here in Uttarakhand where I am at present. Stayin in K.M.V.N tourist rest house on the mall road in Cantonment in RaniKhet I had no access to Internet(incidentally I did miss my favourite website WIC) We, I and my husband take the shared local transport jeep or Tata Sumo to the town to check on our e-mail or surf the net at an interval of two or three days. Standing at the jeep stand for our return journey to the cantt. the other day we heard all these taxi drivers about their mass plan to go to Almora D.M's office and sit on dharna and fast as mobilised by the Patanjli Yog Samiti of their tehsil. Their enthusiasm was seen to be believed and the awareness about the black money and corruption was so sharp and the anger was palpable. I really shudder what would happen if the Government fails to assuage Baba Ramdev on this issue. June 4 is going to be a memorable day if the Satyagraha goes ahead which I am sure it will as It is difficult for Baba also to withdraw from it at this stage.

Terribly sorry

Read Sri Manik Ram's comments, felt terribly sorry for the lack of knowledge about Postal Accounts Offices. PAO take OTA to clear arrears, he doesn't know that OTA is only for operative staff. Inefficiency that is because the PAO's are dependent on the Postal Operations people it is they who have send the cash account, vouchers, etc in time but it never happens so sit and twiddle thumbs and curse the postal operations inefficiency. Honestly the IPoS don't want direct recruited Accounts & Finance officers because they won't toe their line unlike the poor operative side staff who are treated like menials. They want Financial advice to suit their interests. They should look at Telecom where the same Finance has done a wonderful job, they were over ruled and look what happened.

There is a transfer policy so there is nothing to lament.

Hearty Welcome to new CBDT Chairman

I wish him all the success in achieving the goal of Govt. of India and tax payers and taking the department forward in resolving the tax issues. May I request to new Chairman, do one thing for the benefit of tax payers and to have transparency in the system. Can the Chairman introduce the system for a query for the assessment status as is being done for refund status. When tax payers are paying tax running in lakhs of rupees, at least he has a right to know the status of assessment by inputting his or her PAN number. The answer may be any one of the following:

1. Assessment is in progress.

2. Assessment is not complete due to.....

3. Assessment is complete and refund of so much is being remitted to your bank.

4. Assessment is complete and refund issued.

5. Assessment is complete and demand note of so much amount has been sent to you.

It will make life of tax payers easy and very transparent in assessment.

Inundated with complaints

I find this forum inundated with complaints from stenos, Assistants, CSS and others. Some officers, it appears, are using the forum for their self promotion and career progression and post retirement jobs. The eulogies given to certain officers appears to be the handiwork of the same officers. WIC should use the editorial prerogative to cut off this type of letters as otherwise, its credibility will be lost. This is especially so when you are allowing people to use free e-mails.

Intention of UPA Chairperson !

The nomination of political Chanakya, Pranab Mukerjee, a dubious Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal ,whose arrogant smile gives people creeps and the straight faced Manish Tiwari in the Lokpal panel speak volumes about the intention of the UPA Chairperson to scuttle this panel. She has done the same thing for the JPC by appointing her personal loyalist P.C. Chacko to head the Committee. BJP has erred in insisting on a JPC (they have forgotten the Shankranand Committee on Bofors). They should have insisted on a Supreme Court supervised investigation.

Achievements of Sudhir Chandra

I wholeheartedly approve of the views of Satya regarding the achievements of Sudhir Chandra, then Chairman CBDT. He has literally woken up the ITD and given a 'hearing ' to all sections in the Aayakar Parivar. We may have failed to keep up with his pace of promotions, AGT ,refunds and so many other areas but he went hammer and tongs to ensure that Aayakar Parivar and taxpayers got the best world class facilities and services from ITD. I have worked under him directly and know that even if he was overruling my view on the file it was with good intention and with larger perspective. Mostly he agreed with me. Best wishes to him.

R Bharadwaj

I agree 100% with the view of Satya about Sudhir Chandra retired chairman of CBDT. He has really raised the bar high for the new incumbent. He was really taking decision like an officer, not like babus. He has done a lot of good work for the department, its officers and officials.

Rakesh Tiwari

I fully agree with your comments. Take the examples of so called honest and upright Chairman and who were chairman for more than 2 years but did more harm to the Department. They were only interested in visiting temples across the country but did nothing. It is high time we should get rid of such type of sycophants and promote Sudhir Chandra type of officers who are dynamic and always will to innovate.

Charge-sheet in Reliance Call Re-routing case

The reasons for non-inclusion of the names of Mr. Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani in the charge sheet filed by CBI in the Call Re-routing case were denied u/s 8(1)(h) claiming that disclosing the information would impede the process of prosecution. The PIO informed the CIC that the said reasons were available on record but disclosing such information would provide clues to others by which they would be able to argue why they should also not be charged. Holding that the PIO has failed to produce any cogent evidence to establish that disclosure of information would impede the prosecution of offenders, the CIC directed to disclose the information.

Comments

The Delhi HC in Bhagat Singh v. CIC W.P. (C) No. 3114/2007 has observed that the mere existence of an investigation process cannot be a ground for refusal of the information; the authority withholding information must show satisfactory reasons as to why the release of such information would hamper the investigation process. As pointed in this column earlier, such reasons should be germane, and the opinion of the process being hampered should be reasonable and based on some material.
