M N Reddy
Aaj Ki Aawaz
I take my seat on a Delhi-Mumbai flight .....switch off my mobile
and buckle-up!!! All of a sudden there is a lot of commotion and before
I can unbuckle and stand up to see the cause an overweight Neta sweating
profusely with the airhostess following him in a panic comes and plonks
himself on the seat next to me!!!! The Airline should have upgraded
him to Business Class because he literally overflowed into my seat......another
form of Netas throwing their weight!! He has five Cell Phones and two
are ringing....and the seat belt is way short of his girth!!!! He demands
that I be shifted to another seat so that he can occupy two seats.....
he cites security as a reason......the Air Hostess ignores his request!!!!
She has a tough time getting him to switch off his Cell Phones and making
the extended seat belt fit his girth is like a wrestling match for the
Air Hostess..... in the end she accomplishes the tasks walks off as
if she's run a Marathon!!!
Me: Hullo!
Neta: Namaskar...... Jai Sonia Ji and Rahul Ji !!!
Me: We can change seats and I can take the window and you the aisle
(hoping that some of his spillage would then be diverted into the aisle)!!!
Neta: Arre once I sit in a kursi I don' give it up..... matter of
habit!!! Just joking...... window seats make me nervous!!
Me: Abs fine......if I'm not mistaken you are xxxxxxxx (withheld)
from the Congress!!!! Must be going to Mumbai to talk to Munde.........
I know you are considered an expert in this political 'sale purchase'!!
Neta: No ... no....... arre bhai you buy veggies that come into
the market...... at present Munde is still in the field!!!! Congress
has a standard policy ..... we do not go into the fields to get veggies
and thereby we do not get our hands, feet and clothes dirty....... we
shop for veggies when these veggies come into the market!!!
Me: Wholesale or retail....... chalo I know the answer to this........what's
all this talk about Rahul becoming PM????
Neta: He turned 41 and I think this demand that he become PM was
more like a birthday gift for him!!!!
Me: But this gift was like slapping Mohna!!!! I hear he practically
decided to call it a day when he heard of the demand made by a Senior
Congress Leader!!
Neta: Arre Bhai MS Ji knows he has to make way for Rahul Ji one
day!!!
Me: Yes....... but this demand made by a senior Congressman made
it look as if Congress felt enough of MS ji now let Rahul take over!!!
Neta: No ...... no........
Me: See either this Senior Congressman was instructed to say this
thereby putting MS ji on Notice or he did it on his own hoping to prove
his loyalty.......maybe this Senior Congress Leader is aiming to get
his name put on the probable PM list in case MS ji goes and Rahul is
not ready to take over!!
Neta: This is all Media's creation........ Media twists our statements!!
Me: Standard reply of Netas for 'foot in mouth'...... frankly within
Congress I hear you all take the statements of this Senior Congress
Leader who demanded Rahul take over with a pinch of salt!!
Neta: Hearsay....... this is another thing we have to suffer!!!
Me: I feel it's the other way around..... it is we who have to suffer
Netas who suffer from 'foot in mouth'.........tell me one thing why
did Congress not include the Opposition in the Drafting of the Lokpal
Bill?
Neta: You know we actually saved BJP from an all out war.......
because to get onto the Draft Panel there would have been an all out
war between the BJP camps!!! After debacles in WB and Kerala Commie
MPs no longer enjoy the confidence of the people and should not be on
this Panel....... we represent the UPA constituents and those Parties
that extend external support to UPA on the Panel!!!
Me: What if Anna finds the Sarkaari Draft unsatisfactory and goes
on a fast again??????
Neta: Sibal and PC have a few aces up their sleeves....... maybe
MS ji will go on a fast opposite Anna's fast site!!!!
Me: Anna Ji ke fast site ke saamne MS ji apni fast site baanayega.....
sounds like the yesteryear Bollywood hit..... tehre ghar ke saamne ek
ghar banaaooga!!
Neta: Yes we will negate Anna's fast with MS ji's fast!!!!
Me: MS Ji's lost his credibility..... and MS ji is not the fasting
type.......he also suffers from sugar!!!! Yes Congress can start a relay
fast..... MS ji from 6-noon........ from noon to 6 Sonia....... from
6 to midnight Rahul.........from midnight to 6 in the morning PC and
Sibal!!!!! They may fast but as all of them lack credibility the fast
will fall flat on its face....... yes Congress will rent crowds but
people can see the difference between rented support and support from
the heart!!!! Chalo let's see what happens!!! Pranab Da has complained
that his Ministry was bugged using chewing gums!!
Neta: Bugging has gone hi-tech and I do not think this was a professional
job!!! Looks more like the work of an individual!
Me: Yes I can think of one individual ..... a Mantri in the UPA
Cabinet who thinks being FM is his birthright and who is known to keep
tabs on what's happening in Finance Ministry.... and I hear Pranab Da
is not too happy about him doing so!! Maybe Pranab Da has been able
to stop the info flow to him and in desperation this Mantri bought a
few packs of Orbit and placing the gums in strategic places was Phase
1 and had the chewing gums in strategic places not been discovered in
the next Phase the microphones would have been installed...... one must
realize the fixation of this Mantri with the Finance Ministry to agree
that this 'is possible'!!! And then knowing this Mantri I'm sure he's
going to be crying 'fire' or 'chewing gum ...chewing gum in my Ministry'
soon....... after all its every Congressman's habit to burn someone's
house down and then go into his or her own house and light up the range
or stove in the kitchen and cry out 'fire fire' and point fingers at
the guy's house which the Congressman himself or herself has burnt down!!!!
Neta: Now you are bugging me!!!
As we deplane ...... Neta: Namaskar..... Jai Sonia Ji Gandhi Ji!!!!
Me: Bye..... Anna ki jai!!!

Lokpal Bill agitation thwarted !
The lokpal Bill agitation seems to be thwarted by powerful people within
Government. You know there are few intellectual dangerous people capable
of twisting any thing to their favour.
This is a unique opportunity to bring strong Bill and make a sincere
attempt to reduce the corruption.
The point which is raised that MPs represent people of the country
and they are only authorized to frame the rule is misplaced. All MPs
and bureaucrats generate vested interest in the corrupt system and in
this scenario we can not leave everything on them.
It is a struggle between 10000 very rich, powerful, intellectually
dangerous egoist and 1 billion hopeful and poor people relying heavily
on the team on Anna Hazare.

RTI
Copy of application of wife
The applicant asked for the copy of application form his wife had supposedly
sent to the RBI including her educational certificate. The CPIO refused
to disclose the information claiming that it was personal information
as she had not been selected for the job and is not an employee of the
RBI. The CIC upheld the order of CPIO holding that there was no apparent
larger public interest to be served by disclosure. The CIC noted that
there was nothing on record to show that the lady has authorized the
Appellant to access this information.
Comments
This order shows that the Public Authority is not bound to disclose
information about a job-seeker who is not his employee, even to her
spouse.
