Aaj Ki Aawaz

Like is being said by many Congress is trying its best to make Ramdev turn the fast venue into a Yoga camp......that would be the best scenario....... next best would be Ramdev going on a 'token fast' and then breaking it saying Government is working on his demands and Congress would even give him a letter to this effect!!! Maran is at present starting with aggression and threats..... very soon he'll be putting the blame on others..... he may say he did what NDA Ministers did....... Mahajan has retired to the happy hunting grounds so maybe Shourie will have some more defending to do!! On his 88th birthday Karuna has issued a warning to save face and also mislead his cadres..... bad friendships bring woes....... seems he got a touch of Confucius!! Congress could not agree more.... two friendships are costing Congress dear.... one with DMK and the other with NCP!! And Karuna has cleverly ignored WikiCable leak that Maran
had predicted DMK's downfall!! In good time he'll take it up...... now his priorities are to get Kani out, keep ahead of Jaya's plans to put him and his near and dear behind bars....... and try his level best that UPA does not break ties with DMK........UPA is now his lifeline!!

Now when you deny Kani making money in the 2 G scam Mr. Karuna take off your goggles and look us in the eye!!

Many used to wonder why Karuna wears goggles..... now they know why???

PC as MEA....... well even if he's made MEA his fixation with the Finance Ministry will not go!! He feels it is his birthright to be FM!!! If he becomes MEA Minister he will demand all external finance matters should come under MEA!!! If PC is made PM it'll be on the Nation a PJ or Poor Joke!!

And Sonia needs to realize Rahul's becoming PM would be in peril then because PC's a crafty bloke!!

If Anna wants the Lokpal Bill to become a reality he should propose that the Bill be renamed as Rajiv Gandhi Lokpal Bill!! Pranab Da has written to Allies, CMs and Opposition Parties requesting their inputs and opinions..... a delaying tactic!!! In the mean time Congress
Ministers on the Lokpal Drafting panel have already started taking pot-shots at the Civil Society nominees!! Also though in Public Congress keeps saying its pushing to ensure that the Bill makes the monsoon session deadline, but reality is Congress is trying to delay matters and is trying to conjure up 'not in our control' kind of excuse!!! Kapil Sibal is burning the mid night oil on this......Sibal could even reinvent/redefine 'force majeure'!!!

Seems by the time Lokpal Bill is passed its relevance would have been lost!!

The World by then would be paying for its 'reckless playing with Nature' the real cost!!

Next Lok Sabha-Congress and BJP to get less than 100 seats ?

Sir, In my opinion the question of getting less than 100 seats by Congres or BJP is too early. There is good another 3 years left for UPA and keeping in viw the mood of Indian Voters in the next 3 years, I think we should not raise this question now. Regards

CBDT
New Chairman CBDT is going to have videoconferencing with CCIT, DGIT etc. on 8.6.2011 to discuss variuos issues. It is very good way to keep departement motivated and to get the various scheme implemented. Can the Chairman take a call when tax payer's services are discussed to include the query of tax payers "to know the assessment status of particular AY " by giving PAN number.

Will the goverment take action against the high profile buisnessman? RTI act has certainly put pressure on the government through bringing such cases into light. Good work done by you.

The government should extend the children education allowance for college going students also. Further the hostel allowance of Rs. 30,000/- per year allowable to children studying in 12th standers and below should also be extended to college going students also. fees and other expenses are more than the school going children. Further the govt. should encourage the employees to send their children for higher education.

selection of Executive Direcitors for Public sector Bank [recent news item of selection of 13 General Managers for the post of EDs in public sector Banks]. Money, power and push or Exposure to different fields, Knowledge, Clean hand, sincerety and hard work? Every time this question appears in my mind when ever I see the results.

The arm pit exposing vulgar looking Guru with a criminal face appears to be a plant by the Congress party to neutralise Anna Hazare's agitation. An Ex-CBDT Chairman(who knows well about the financial empire of the Guru) along woth that dubious Swami Agnivesh are reportedly in touch with the Guru for the past two months.Agnivesh was miffed since he was not made a panel member. If it were during British days, such Gurus would have been sent to Andamans.
Four ministers going and recieving this Guru shows how jittery, the corruption immersed UPA is. It also once again shows the lack of leadership quality in our economist PM.

After Raja ,and Kanimozhi , now Maran. Politics in India is reaching the next level - double or bust. Bust it is for many .Many others will follow. A thought on this. Should any Insurance Company offer cover against loss of office of profit(?) -( to hell with reputation !)

Brety

Three cheers to our out going Cabsec for atlast showing his spine though at this late stage and insisting that Secretaries will be in future allocated to ministries as per their seniority and not as per the requests of ministers. If he has shown this spine earlier Bahuria and others would not have been cooling their heels in Tihar jail.

Charge-sheet in Reliance Call Re-routing case

The reasons for non-inclusion of the names of Mr. Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani in the charge sheet filed by CBI in the Call Re-routing case were denied u/s 8(1)(h) claiming that disclosing the information would impede the process of prosecution. The PIO informed the CIC that the said reasons were available on record but disclosing such information would provide clues to others by which they would be able to argue why they should also not be charged. Holding that the PIO has failed to produce any cogent evidence to establish that disclosure of information would impede the prosecution of offenders, the CIC directed to disclose the information.

Comments

The Delhi HC in Bhagat Singh v. CIC W.P. (C) No. 3114/2007 has observed that the mere existence of an investigation process cannot be a ground for refusal of the information; the authority withholding information must show satisfactory reasons as to why the release of such information would hamper the investigation process. As pointed in this column earlier, such reasons should be germane, and the opinion of the process being hampered should be reasonable and based on some material.
