Aaj Ki Aawaz Some Kiriana Store owners also double up as money changers and bookies! My neighbourhood Kiriana Store displays exchange rates and odds for bets!!!! Post the State election results I walked in to buy some stuff and as the owner was not too busy I got chatting with him!!!
Me: Kaise ho Kirit Bhai???? Kirit: Chakaas (fit) Seth....... dhandaa paani ek dum chakaas.....hawaa paani bhi chakaas!!! Me: TV News waale were giving DMK a fighting chance how come you gave DMK 20 to 1 odds for coming back to power???? Kirit: Arre Seth TV waalon ko toh yeh Neta logh khareed lethe hai.......subha ko I see Bhakti programmes and shyam ko ......kyaa bolthe hai........ lux dekhta hoo......news channels se merre ko khujli hai!! Me: Not lux.....Soaps!!! What was your gut feeling about TN?????? Kirit: Arre Amma ki jeethe pucci thi........ arre Goggle waala kitne bhi paise baante DMK ki pucci thi haar!!! TV waale toh boll rahe theh ki DMK ground gain karr rahi hai!!!! Ain election time pe Public ka gussa khareedna bahut mushqil hai Seth! Aur firr Public kehthi hai humaare paisa loot ke humm ko deh rahi hai DMK .....hummare vote ke liye humaare paise se ghoos!! Me: If today you had to give odds for next TN elections what would the odds be???? Kirit: Easy........ AIADMK 20 to 1 and DMK even!!!! Me: Kaise yeh calculate kiya???? Kirit: Amma ka ghamand.......anti incumbency .....aur Public ka gussa and yaadhdash short lived hai!! Me: TMC toh you already were giving even ka bhao!!! What about same odds for WB in the next State elections????? Kirit: Communist even ka bhao and TMC 20 to one ka bhao!!!! Me: Why?????? Kirit: Amma ko uss ka ghamand leh doobe ga aur Didi ko uss ka gussaa!!! Arre Seth Didi ladhne mein A 1 hai...... Sarkaar chalaane mein flop!!! Doosre plan karte hai 'yeh humaara 10 point programme hogaa' aur Didi ........' yeh merra 10 point ladhne ka programme hogaa'!! Me: You had not given any odds for Assam!!!! Kirit: Arre Seth I had given odds in the beginning but then when for some time no one placed bets I dropped Assam!! Me: What odds had you given Congress when you were taking bets on Assam's results???? Kirit: My feeling was Congress will win but AGP and BJP will make some good gains....... Kerala mein toh woh VS ne kamaal karr diya!! Me: Odds you gave showed you felt LDF will win!! Kirit: Seth pehle UDF ko maine even ka bhao diya tha....... parr firr mujhe feel huaa VS jadoo karr saktha hai!!!! Arrre Rahul boltha hai VS budha hai........ muje toh woh Rahul se jyaada dumm waala lagtha hai!!!! Ek din dhoop mein Noida mein aur Rahul ki bathi bandh ho gayi thi..... murjha gaya tha!!!! Rahul toh bahut naazuk hai!! Me: Kya odds on Raja's conviction in 2 G maamla!! Kirit: 2 to 1 nikal jaye ga aur 10 to1 conviction pe!! 5 to 1 ka bhao hai ki uss ko pehle tapkaa diya jaye ga! Me:
And Kalmadi???? Me: IPL koun jeeth ga??????? Kirit: KKR......... 2 ka bhao.......... patha hai kyon????? Me: Yes Ramu was telling me that you told him that Sharukh has taken a vow that if KKR wins Sharukh will take a maun varat for 1 month..... and entire Bollywood is praying for KKR winning!!!! Me:
Rahul...... what odds do you give for him becoming PM????

Retirement age should be increased gradewise .( like in Army and Judiciary)
For PB1&2 62 years
For PB 3 63 years
For PB 4 64 years
Above PB4 65 years.
This would have a weighted average of 62.1 years.

Good suggestion
While others specially the unemployed youngsters may oppose this is a good suggestion to utilise the experience of those sincere officers for 2 more years which otherwise would have elapsed.
L Santhanam
No justification and need for such a move
There is no justification and need for such a move. In a country where unemployment is growing we cannot have such luxuries for Government employees. They may join private companies after 60 years if they are willing to work. On one side Government claims to tap potential of you in Nation Building and at the same time such policies can't exist.
C Mohan
Retirement age be 55 years
This is not a good move for a country like India. Perhaps the retirement age should be 55 years.

Very bad proposal. Sab Bakwas hai. Aisa nahi hona chahiye.

Centre reposes confidence in him
After the recent mistreatment meted out to Desh Deepak Verma, a 1978 batch IAS officer of UP cadre where he was recalled from the centre in writing for the Post of Chief secretary UP but denied the post once he reached, there the central government has reposed it's confidence in him by making him DG of Sports Authority of India. His reputation as an honest and diligent officer will be useful for much maligned sports administration. This action of the UP government has brought disrepute to their style of functioning and the mature response of the centre has been admired in bureaucratic circles

You can't tar all with the same brush
With reference to complaint of Sudhir regarding non-adherence to office timings of 9.30 AM to 6 PM in ITO, though I admit that his complaint is not totally devoid of merit , he can not tar all with the same brush since I am working in the building as CC-2 and reach the office at 9.30 AM and leave beyond 6 PM and I have also seen Shri Ashok Manchanda CC-5, Rekha Goel DIT also coming in at that time and some other officers and staff also. However, the point raised by Sudhir is well taken and I would request all ITD parivar members to be punctual unless due to unavoidable reasons they are unable to come on time on rare occasions and extend world-class service to taxpayers (our customers) to the fullest extent. I am also proposing an Aayakar Sewa Kendra to be opened in ITO for single window service to our customers. Jai Hind.
R Bharadwaj RTI Constitution of bench by the SC The CIC observed that the information whether the Registry of the Supreme Court (SC) has placed certain papers before the Chief Justice of India for constitution of a Bench as directed in the SC Order in the SLP No. 32855/2009 is plainly administrative in nature. It is difficult to imagine how the disclosure of such information could cause any abrogation of the independence of the judiciary. The CIC directed to provide information on action taken by the SC Registry and also provide copy of the order, if any, for constituting a Bench of appropriate strength for further hearing on the SLP. The CIC further directed to provide a copy of the document, if any, confirming the news about the Hon'ble Chief Justice of India advising Karnataka Chief Justice Hon'ble Mr. Justice PD Dinakaran to go on leave. Comments While the CIC deserves applause for the interpretation of the RTI Act, is it not surprising that the CPIO of the mighty Supreme Court of India cannot decipher one of the simplest Acts of the independent India? Even earlier, the CPIO of SC has received a rap on the knuckles for similar aberrations.
