I am a regular reader of your website. Your website provides a lot
of information on administrative set up/changes pretty well with reasonable
accuracy Aaj Ki Aawaz
Doesn't Rahul know who is behind Ralegoan Sidhi's progress....... so why is he meeting the Sarpanch???? And Ralegoan's progress story is in Public Domain for years!!! So how come all of a sudden Rahul's become so interested about Ralegaon's progress???? When he knows its Anna's vision, dedication and 'walking the talk' that is behind Ralegaon's progress why is he not talking directly to Anna...... is he feeling ashamed to talk to Anna???? These are the games that Congress plays!!!! Congress feels that it is the smartest and all others are dimwits!!!! Now even Digvijaya has changed his tune ..... from damning Anna to praising Anna's yeomen work in Ralegaon!! At present Rahul is desperate to stop Anna from campaigning in UP.... and he's become even more desperate after seeing Anna's success in Hissar!! And his pitch for making Lokpal a Constitutional Body is more to delay matters..... and what is more important is the powers that the Lokpal will have!!!! Rahul should realize the time to play games is over..... in fact his calling the Ralegaon's Sarpanch is getting him jeers!!! And as Congress always does ... it extends one hand in friendship and the other hand 'hits out'...... a plea was filed in SC by a Lawyer on Anna's Trust and SC has issued Notices to Anna, CBI and Maharashtra State!!!
Now it is clear whatever Rahul does is a drama!!!! Why does he knot realize....all the time you cannot make sabh ka Mama (fool)???
In Hissar as expected Congress has got a drubbing!!!! Of course Anna effect has contributed!!! Chautala too has suffered.... public is shaana and they know Anna is fighting corruption... they know his call 'do not vote for Congress' is because he wants the Lokpal Bill to be passed so as to fight ghoos... and Public knows Chautalas are also neck deep in ghoos...... so though Anna did not say it in so many words Public took cognizance of Chautala's anti taint stance and the outfall is being seen!!!! Hooda will have to think up excuses because now his detractors will go after him!!!! Jai Prakash has lost his deposit which is indeed very shameful.... Hooda chose Jai Prakash who is considered to be a proverbial 'lotta' (round bottomed vessel)!!!!! But Hooda's not responsible for Anna's ' do not vote for Congress' call.... though he may have contributed to it!!!! But it's said Sonia had ordered Hooda that he put 'his equity in this election'.......the margin by which Jai Prakash has lost will only add to Hooda's woes!!!!! What is surprising Chautala has taint...... Bishnoi carries his Dad's taint and both Chautala and Bishnoi are fabulously rich!!! On the other hand apart from his being a 'lotta' Jai Prakash does not have taint and compared to Chautala and Bishnoi Jai Prakash is a 'very poor cousin'... despite Jai Prakash having a clean image he paid for his Party's image!!
Anti incumbency and Anna's call are responsible for Congress's rout!!!! Sonia has to act if Congress has to make a comeback in Haryana and a lot has to be sorted out!!
'Wall Streets' in Developed Markets are under attack!!!! The Working Class are up in arms!!!! The feeling is that World's 'Financial Winter' is the work of those on Wall Street.... of course this does not include the Deli, Coffee Shops, Eateries and utilities!!! People are suffering and it seems like the Middle East's Arab Spring now we have the Developed World's Financial Winter.... their chant is 'people before profit'!! It is well known that despite stringent laws insider trading.... fixing prices...... cartelisation...... are rampant in Financial Markets!!!
Wall Street is lined with tiles of greed!!! And from greed Stock markets can never be freed!!
PS... Bishnoi has a Land Cruiser and Jaguar.... Chautala has a Merc....
JP has no car.... seems result is based on who owns more cars..... if
this is the criteria Pawar's a winner..... he is alleged to have more
than four dozen cars... of course all benaami!!!! Kursheed says 'we
expected what happened in Hissar'...... one more nail in his 'image
coffin'.... two nails he's already driven in with ..... Court should
be sensitive to 'political economy'.... and Media should go easy!!!
In the past Sonia has overturned a bowl of Spaghetti on the head of
a person she was angry with.... her kitchen Cabinet would be well advised
to enter 'the kitchen' with helmets!

Increase Interest Rate on PPF Deposits at par with EPF
The present interest rate on PPF deposits is still 8 % p.a. However interest rate on EPF has gone upto 9.5% p.a. and on bank fixed deposits, it is about 10% p.a. It is necessary because withdrawals from PPF account can be made only after completion of 5 (Five) years of opening the Account. The Finance Ministry should consider the increase of interest rate on PPF at par with EPF. Moreover the annual limit of deposits in PPF account should also be increase from Rs.70000/- to Rs.100000/-.

There is no change in interest rate on GPF deposits for last 10 years. It is still 8 % p.a. However interest rate on EPF has gone upto 9.5% p.a. On bank fixed deposits, it is about 10%. Referendum in Kashmir? What Nonsense?
Merciless beating of leading lawyer Prashant Bhushan in his chamber in the Supreme Court by hooligans is quite disturbing. The ruffians who did that must be brought to swift and deterrent justice. Having said this, I must admit that Bhushan's statement that there must be referendum in Kashmir and if as a result of the referendum it is revealed that majority of the people there want to join Pakistan we must give Kashmir to Pakistan is no less worrying. If Bhushan has made this statement as a result of ignorance of basic facts it is foolish on his part to express his views that too on media on a subject he is not fully conversant with. If on the other hand he has given his statement with full knowledge of the relevant facts, circumstances and background of the Kashmir issue his lapse is far more serious as it may tantamount to treason. Referendum is not used as a matter of routine to draw or redraw national boundaries in the normal course. The context and the background in which referendum was talked about with reference to Kashmir is the aggression of the state by Pakistani tribesmen and regular militia after its accession to the union of India. When the matter reached UN it passed resolutions to solve the issue amicably by ascertaining the will of the people through a referendum. The following are worth noting for proper appreciation of the prerequisites for holding the referendum, understanding why the referendum was not held as per the UN resolutions and how the whole idea of referendum has become irrelevant and impracticable now after more than half a century since the resolutions were passed:- (1) As per resolutions dated 21-4-1948 and 13-8-1948 as a prerequisite for the referendum the government of Pakistan was to secure the withdrawal from the state of J&K of tribesmen and Pakistani nationals not normally resident therein who have entered the state for the purpose of fighting and prevent any intrusion into the state of any such elements and any furnishing of material aid to those fighting in the state?. Pakistan never complied with this imperative which was the first step for holding the referendum as a result of which it couldn't be held soon after the resolutions were passed. There is voluminous correspondence emanating from the UN appointed monitoring group and the referendum administrator appointed by the UN reminding Pakistan repeatedly about its obligations and evasive response or deafening silence from the side of Pakistan. These are all matter of record. (2) After illegally occupying vast areas of the state of J&K Pakistan ceded part of it (the Shaksgam tract) to China and the same continues to be under the Chinese occupation. Pakistan didn't hold any referendum before this illegal ceding of the illegally occupied territory. (3) Gilgit and Balistan regions of the State covering an area of nearly 73000 sq kms and a population of nearly one million has been turned into union territory (federally administered area) by Pakistan arbitrarily and unilaterally. No referendum was held before altering the status of the area by Pakistan. (4) As per part 2 of section 7 of the Pakistan sponsored constitution of POK all persons and political parties are barred from ?questioning the ideology of the state's accession to Pakistan?. Is any referendum possible or meaningful with such restrictions against expression of will for the so-called self determination? (5) A politician from POK has to solemnly affirm that he shall remain loyal to the idea of Pakistan and to the cause of accession of J&K to Pakistan. Students applying for admission to professional colleges or other educational institutions have to make similar declarations. From the above it is clear that referendum couldn't be held soon after the UN resolutions because of failure on the part of Pakistan to comply with the UN laid down prerequisites. Subsequently there has been material change in the circumstances because of a series of illegal acts of omission and commission by Pakistan as a result of which the very idea of holding a referendum has become impractical, irrelevant and redundant. It is upto the government of the day to decide whether to ignore Bhushan's statements or to initiate legal proceedings against him. However in the interest of highest standards of personal integrity of Bhushan claims to represent it is incumbent upon him to punish himself for his irresponsible public statements which are as seriously unfounded as they are prejudicial to the security and integrity of India. The mildest punishment I can suggest to Bhushan is to keep his mouth shut on the Kashmir issue at least for a year or till such time he acquaints himself fully with facts whichever is later.

Sarkar's derogatory on civil services unfortunate
J. Sarkar's derogatory on civil services was most unfortunate. I do not know what his world experience is. Atleast I know many of the problems faced by Indian bureaucrats are not faced by their name sakes in other countries. In India we have caste, clan, language, race, corruption, immoral politics and what else. If India is remaining in one piece inspite of these problems a large portion of the credit goes to Bureaucrats, whether some of them are arrogant or not. Sarkar's sweeping statement looks like a sour grapes story. Some people make bureaucracy bashing a past time.

Indian bureaucracy most corrupt, inefficient
To a certain extent, I agree with the observation. But we cannot generalise all bureaucrats as corrupt and inefficient. Of course, removing the titles like IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, etc., is a good suggestion. Removing the red lights from the vehicles and security personnel from the officers (which are in 99% cases status symbol and do not reflect actual requirement)should be considered immediately. In some places, they have even reserved the lifts and toilets for officers only which is quite strange but still no one questions!

How the things will improve?
Welcome to all new comers...but how the things will improve? So many officers, even more competent retire and go to oblivion without getting their due, because of too much delay in selection. Will DoPT and concerned persons as well as governments. will look into it ?

Nothing worthwhile in this judgement
There is nothing worthwhile in this judgement of CIC to reflect upon, Ms Anuradha has failed to highlight. It is noted that CIC has only made its observation, but that does not absolve the plea of the CPIO, if you read the judgement, the claim of PIO about safety is upheld and CIC has allowed masking of names. No points to you Ms. Anuradha !! Please improve the quality of your posts.

Not agreeable
Just read the views of Brijesh Kalappa requesting to stop "Aaj ki Awaaz" on the pretext of some genuine grounds viz. bad English or non-lyrical but one ground on which he has asked to stop this regular feature i.e. written by RSS Supporter, seems to me completely not agreeable and biased. Why our brains are so washed by our politicians of a particular group, that RSS is not a secular organisation. Do they not belong to India, or they belong to some other planet? Some condone them on the ground of killing Gandhi, but have we ever thought of banning the organisations or the community, which have killed Indira or Rajiv. Why so much hatred for RSS? Have they only done wrong to this country? Is all other organisations are only doing good to our society? They are very much belong to India, and if they support any movement which is just with the view for betterment of our Motherland by opposing Terrorism by a particular community, or helping society in any manner should be applaused. It is not if you speak loudly and umpteen times in opposing RSS, it will become defunct because they have some basic principles and they have their disciples grow from grass root level. We should rise above the counting the voters/supporters and enlarge our sight by seeing the bleak future of our society.

INC in Hissar
I fully agree with Prakash about INC in Hissar. Perhaps Anna Hazare and his group have turned opportunists.

Hazare's heart is in the right place
Anna Hazare's heart is in the right place. He has not hesitated in upbraiding his team for their comments.
Vijay Kumar RTI File notings regarding reinstatement Comments The PIO should not try to invoke section 8(1)(g) indiscriminately in every legal or vigilance case without looking into whether the physical safety of any official would be jeopardized.
