Aaj Ki Aawaz

Had Modi accepted the fez cap and worn it many would have lost respect for Modi....his refusal showed character!!! He's not a Muslim so why should he wear a fez cap????? I think the Maulana who offered him the fez cap was wrong and I feel Congress was behind this ..... it backfired as Modi may have got brickbats from Congress's pally Media but generally people , even Muslims, have appreciated his forthrightness!!!!! I always maintain that to be hospitable one does not have the change the cardinal rules in one's home.... and a guest who expects his host to change the host's cardinal rules is not a good guest!! And they say both Gulam Nabi Azad and Azhar had refused tikka being applied to their foreheads!!

Today Congress has just one objective..... Modi ka band bajao!!

Modi should say ' Before believing Congress's lies yahaa (Gujarat) aao'!!

Why is BJP going soft on Praful?????? There is so much against him..... he has run AI into the ground!!! The unplanned purchase of planes.... when AI could have easily dry chartered planes.....then stupid amalgamation of AI and IA....... then giving his pally Airlines lucrative routes......the list goes on and on!!!Praful keeps saying that he reduced the fares.... fact is the low cost Airlines that he tried to kill were the ones that reduced the fares!! He was responsible for the cartel that carriers like Jet and Kingfisher formed to 'fix fares'!!!

If law was allowed to take its course by now Praful would have been behind bars!!

But instead during the day he's a Mantri and at night he parties at the swankiest bars!

If you dabble in stocks please be careful Market will tank and go down to 12,000 to 13,0000 (Sensex).... gold is going to go way beyond $ 2000..... Nymex will stay in the 80's........Rupee is going to remain weak (48)..... inflation around 10%.....and growth will be 5.5%!!! And Dada (Pranab) is totally at sea......Montek is up to his games... he's still roaming the globe at our cost.... maximum trips to US where I think his kids live!!! Problem is this Sarkaar is the Middleman's (part time hoarder) and Retailers advocate.... huge stocks of food grains rot and Sarkaar would prefer that the grain rots or rodents eat it rather than humans get to eat it!! I do not think inflation will come down to 6% levels as long as UPA is in power!!!!

Pranab Da I hear said ' now Indians are used to high inflation' .. no longer it's an issue!!!

And as and when needed ...'inflation is coming down' statement via Montek Sarkaar will issue!!

In Haryana now the new call is ' Hissar election is prestige issue for Sonia'..... this is to get the warring groups in Haryana to work together!! And if Congress loses then someone high and mighty in Haryana Congress will have to take the fall!! Bhajan Lal's wife is whipping up emotions ... I hear BJP has got RSS to issue a diktat to its workers to work for Kuldeep!!! Chautalas are canvassing but are also worried about the progress of the DA case!!!

It is said in the past few days Hissar is flush with currency .... chotta and badha Gandhi notes!

And as the competition gets stiffer the buying rate of votes bloats (at present 1000/vote)!

Modi controversy.... on his birthday he refused to wear a cap and hold balloons!

Is the fast a signal for electoral preparations?
The BJP inner circle is already preparing for the elections as they feel the scam ridden government is on teeters and soon the allies will pull the plug. BJP circles say if Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is projected as the PM there are chances they may reach the magic figure. But the question remains whether Nitish Kumar will continue to coast along or not ?

Why was Sadbhavna fast taken ?
The inner circle of the RSS planned to quell the rath yatra to be undertaken by LK Advani. The RSS was miffed at the yatra and so as an impromptu attempt decided to prop up Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi with a fast, say inner circle of the RSS. It has taken the wind out of the sails of the rath yatra, said an insider.

Who offered a skull cap to Modi ?
It is heard that there was a deliberate attempt by the BJP inner circle to make Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi wear a skull cap. That would have neutralised his image and he would not have been able to score the political mileage that he had undertaken the fast for.

Where is Maharashtra home Minister ?
It is heard that Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil has gone to UK to buy CCTV cameras and related equipments. One wonders that what happened to tender process that is usually undertaken for government buys !

Sikkim Tragedy - State Cadre Officers

The extent of damage to life and property on account of Sunday's earthquake epicentred in Sikkim is unprecedented with death toll touching 72 and over 100 injured. It is time that all the State Cadre Officers posted in Delhi or elsewhere go back to their cadre to serve the people of the State in this hour of tragedy. It is unfortunate that there are Sikkim Cadre All-India Service Officers who have spent most of their service in Delhi either on central deputation or APPA training or in the Sikkim House in Delhi, and even today after completing their tenure are trying to continue in Delhi by getting some CVO posting in a Public Sector Undertaking. Would someone look into this practice of manipulation?

Petrol price hike

The price of petrol in this country is at unprecedented level although the international crude oil price is not at all time high level. This is due to excessive levies of duties; in-efficiency of monopoly oil PSUs and exorbitant expenses towards salary & perquisites to its employees. The Govt. of India and public is the shareholders of these companies despite that public is suffering but the management of these companies is not only inefficient but also does not believe in austerity as far as their own concerns. Their counterparts are paid meagerly in comparison to them. Is any initiative would be taken to bring sensitivity in the structure.

DoPT should extend 'largesse' to others

The DoPT should extend the special incentive available to the AIS working in the North East to other services as well as they face the same handicaps . In fact the incentive should not be available to officers who belong to the N E states as they are in their home state and many rarely move out of their home states. Even those allocated to other cadres seek deputations to their own NE state. Besides these officers do not pay any income tax as they are exempt, unlike officers belonging to states outside the NE.

Excellent Proposal CBDT

Creating a special cell in IT for poll expenditure is good move. In fact CBDT should move from low tech work to high tech work culture. As proposed in budget speech last year, the scope of work for scrutinising ITRs of taxpayers above 60 years and less than 10 lakh income (both conditions to be met) should be completely ignored and the officers involved in theses small works should be utilised for much better task who can have innovative ideas to find the tax evasion form high fly persons who don't pay tax at all or declare less income.

Khanduri should come out of his Maj Gen's image

There is no doubt that Khanduri is an honest and hardworking person but he will have to come out of his Maj Gen"s image and mix with the people which he lacked in his last tenure. Uttrakhand badly need a strong policy on housing and tourism. It does not have a housing board till date and the land available in the hills is being taken over by land sharks from plains.

Only 'not so feudalistic' bureaucrats should speak

Only those bureaucrats should say something about the controversy of Mani Shankar Iyer who were themselves not so feudalistic, very polite, treated man like a man, were honest & sincere and had also worked very hard & honestly during their tenure. If the bureaucracy sheds some of its 'boo', become simple & normal and set examples by avoiding misusing their official position; then immediately all good things will start flowing for the masses. I hate those bureaucrats who say 'kya apne appointment liya tha' and 'unse kaho woh kyon hamse milna chahte hair, jao aur unko bolo woh unse mil lein'. Most of these kinds of people are frustrated lot on their home front and they try to went their feelings on the others. After all they have to come down to the streets after retirement.

Remarks on "Whispers" uncalled for

=====================

Remarks of K C Sivaraman and P C Varma, IDAS (Retd) against "Whispers" are totally uncalled for. This shows their mental-frame which does not accept others' version. These gentlemen should know that the whispers' site is not official gazette but an informal site based on the feedback/views of its readers. It is of readers, by readers & for readers. Everyone is free to express his views on any issue and we should take it in right perspective. Editorial board need not be blamed for liberty being afforded by them to the readers' view. It seems even after their retirement, both these bureaucrats have not come out from high-headed ego and want everything to be dictated by themselves.

Who says English is An Easy Language?

FUNDAMENTAL ENGLISH

Polish man moved to the USA and married an American girl.

Although his English was far from perfect, they got along very well until one day he rushed into a lawyer's office and asked him if he could arrange a divorce for him. The lawyer said that getting a divorce would depend on the circumstances, and asked him the following questions:

Have you any grounds?

Yes, an acre and half and nice little home.

No, I mean what is the foundation of this case?

It is made of concrete.

I don't think you understand. Does either of you have a real grudge?

No, we have carport, and not need one.

I mean. What are your relations like?

All my relations still in Poland

Is there any infidelity in your marriage?

We have hi-fidelity stereo and good DVD player.

Does your wife beat you up?

No, I always up before her.

Is your wife a nagger?

No, she white.

Why do you want this divorce?

She going to kill me.

What makes you think that?

I got proof.

What kind of proof?

She going to poison me. She buy a bottle at drugstore and put on shelf in bathroom.

I can read, and it say: 'Polish Remover'.

RTI

Copy of agreement

The appellant sought detailed information about the installation of a cellular tower in the building of which he is a resident. The CPIO informed that the consent of the Secretary and Treasurer of the Association was taken before installation of the cellular tower in question but refused to provide information about (i) the rent being paid to the apartment owner on whose apartment the cellular tower has been set up and (ii) copy of the agreement between BSNL and the said apartment owner. The CIC rejected the arguement that the disclosure of this information would adversely affect the competitive position of BSNL. The CIC observed that the appellant has stakes in the building and its environment and the electro magnetic radiations emitted by the tower may affect him and directed to disclose the information.

Comments

This case opens up the numerous possibilities of the use of the RTI Act in the environmental protection. The PSUs are left in a position of disadvantage vis-à-vis their private sector counterparts.
