It is very informative and interesting.

Aaj Ki Aawaz

Congress has done whatever it could do to trash the revealing 2 G Note.... but failed! First they said the Note had a limited life.... then they said it was the work of a junior Official in the Ministry......then they said only the covering letter was signed.....meaning to say the 'Note' could have been inserted later!! Fact is this is an Office Memorandum and it is short of a Gazette Notification!! Then Mohna tried to give a'destabilization spin'..... he said Opposition wanted to overthrow UPA... force a midterm poll on the Nation.... but then he stopped expounding further as he was told his statement was like 'kicking Congress in the hind'!!!! Then Congress said RTI documents show the 2 G chori amount was lesser than what was mentioned by CAG in its report.....meaning to say as the amount is lesser this matter should be closed!! Then Congress got Renuka and Nirupam to go on Panel discussions and insult and make faces at those opposing Congress!! At night some Members of Congress's dirty tricks department met Pranab!!! Then Madam met Pranab and PC separately... Mohna met them too separately!! Fact of the matter is now SC will decide..... and my guess is SC has no option but to order CBI to interrogate PC......and if SC does this PC will have to resign.... his continuing would be untenable... also SC's verdict will send a message.... is India a Republic de Kela or not!!

Congress is running in circles!!!!

Congress ko the truth encircles!!

Just imagine had RTI not been there...... had the Media that is doing its job not been there then PC and Raja had got away with this humongous scam!!! Our Netas still feel they can get away with murder and that is why they throw caution to winds.... and thank God for their throwing caution to winds!! Lokayukts and Lokpals (not Jokepals) would indeed help in taking on corruption!!! All these steps will not eradicate corruption.... but will definitely stop the 'nangaa naach of corruption'!!! Though our Leaders have remained unaffected by the wave of 'propriety' sweeping the Nation.... the amn on the street has been moved.... like take the guy who found the bag containing 10 Lakhs cash.... he attributed his honesty to Anna's movement...... he controlled his temptation.... remember he's getting a pittance as salary... facing the brunt of inflation.... he too has demands from his family........he sees the Government's corruption.....he could have succumbed to temptation but he did not!!! There have been other cases too of money being found and returned!!

Coming elections Public will be swayed to a lesser extent by ghoos for their votes!!!!!

As you know Netas have been buying votes with liquor, drugs and currency notes!!

Will Congress tie up with SP in UP????? But if it ties up with SP Rahul will not be able to claim that his charisma won UP for Congress!!! At present I hear his think tank is doing some simple arithmetic.... adding up the votes of Congress and SP in the previous election!!! It is not that simple..... such a alliance be it khullam khulla or tacit via friendly fights will also result in a purge in the vote bank as Public is aware what both Parties have said about each other!!! In UP 'caste and religion' do play a big role in voting.... but this coming election I have a feeling this is going to change!!!! India and Indians are moving on.... changing perceptions..... people are realizing this vote bank politics does not improve their 'living standards'!!!! Congress is hoping to sweep Punjab in the coming State elections and give BJP a fight in Uttrakhand.... Congress is gung ho because in both States BJP faces anti incumbency!! Rahul's coronation will take place after the UP elections... that is if everything goes Congress's way.... if not Rahul will be like the age old Punjabi adage..... jithe dhi khothi utje aiyee khalothi or the she ass came and stood where it belonged!!

Sonia has two aims .... get Rahul hitched and Rahul's coronation!!!

And they say she wants her pic on notes of Rs.1000 denomination!!

PS..... though PC's pals are trying to play up the Ambani bros meeting PC....do not read too much into this.... Anil does this every week...... Mukesh met him with CEO of BP!!! PC says the rich should be taxed more.... I think there should be a Mantri Tax.... based on the malai potential of Ministries fix a annual 'royalty' to be paid by Ministers to the Exchequer!!!

After Pranab's statement on 2 G it is being said..... two Officials will be made scapegoats and Pranab Da has been made to look like an ass (fool).... Congress's firefighter hoses himself down!!

Media ignoring catastrophic changes in Pakistan

Our politicians and the media are now obsessed with notes and files and are ignoring the catastrophic changes taking place in Pakistan. These changes pose a grave national threat to India. The impending implosion in Pakistan and the ensuing civil war and anarchy would be worse than the Northeast for India. The fundamentalists would get hold of Pakistan's 120 or so atom and hydrogen bombs and use it on the softest target available , namely India. America and NATO are not leaving Afghanistan in 2014 as the fortifications of their bases there show they are there to stay. Pakistan's plan of annexing Afghanistan after losing East Pakistan, by using the Taliban as a fifth column has failed. A frustrated and bitter Pakistani elite will join forces with the jehadis as western drones start targetting mainland Pakistan as well. If that happens, can drone attacks on Indian cities be far behind? After all there are a dime a dozen Muslim jehadi organisations in India, and the West using the excuse of attacking Al Quida can very well blow up the Taj Mahal too.The track record of the west in south asia shows that they are only bothered about their own lives and care nothing for people who belong to other civilisations. In fact they consider all non-westerners as sub-humans fit only for extermination and contempt at the best of times. Will our ministers please wake up to the fact that the west has occupied Afghanistan which for 2000 years was a part of India and that they are now bombing the so-called state of Pakistan which was India till 1947?

PM needs loyal 'babus'!

N K Mathur's assessment is apt. The PM has a fetish for superannuated bureaucrats who offer loyalty in exchange of unlimited power endowed in them. Totally committed to the political Executive, this breed of bureaucracy manages to cling to centre of power even though they are in the twilight years of their lives. Strangely, even the PM has a fatal attraction for them. The steel frame of retired bureaucrats hide lots of secrets/intelligence inputs that makes them indispensable. This breed of 'Yes Prime Minster' type Ex-bureaucrats (Tin frame of bureaucracy) had a mushroom growth during Indira Gandhi's reign of terror in pre-emergency days. Some were suitably rewarded on her return to power.

A K Saxena (A retired civil servant)

Well said, N.K. Mathur.. PM has no control over PMO, he doesn't even have a single senior bureaucrat to advise him. Be it Nair, K.M. Chandrashekar and now Pulock Chatterji joining him. All these people have their loyalties to 10 Janpath not PM or PMO. Forget about their accountability to general public.

Fourth Estate or Fifth Column?

The media has been seen to have sold its "independence" in the past few years generally, including the Aaj Ki Aawaz. It acts only as a rabble rouser for the Congress and its shouting brigade speaks biased against selected targets like some Narendra Modi or BJP or Raman Singh or Mayawati or Sheila Dixit(it used to be Lalu Yadav earlier) etc and is mortally afraid of making even a feeble sound about Sonia or Rahul or Mamata or Karunanidhi or Jayalalitha. In the process, it has lost all its credibility on the one hand and created terrible mistrust between the Congress & the people on the other. How long can any political party survive on propaganda by the embedded media in this age of information revolution? If the survival of the Congress has become dependent only on a purchased media, I would not hesitate to call it the end of the GOP. The people are a bit ignorant about the felicity with which the ruling party can twist the tail of the media successfully. After all, radio waves are not sold through Fair Price Shops ! And the A. Rajas of the country do not consume spectrum. How much is the turn over of this business annually? The figures will cause mental black outs of the people if revealed honestly(unlike the 2-G information given to the PAC). The figure of 1,76,000 crores will look like peanuts before it ! And the government knows who is making how much money. Honesty would make some of the TV channels insolvent overnight: government has simply forgotten to recover the millions of US $ that these loudest shouting channels owe it. So they have provided a bunch of men and women of almost no integrity to operate under the veneer of journalists, if the way they shout, judge, pronounce, view, preclude, target, attack and cut short others who tend to speak the slightest truth, are any indication. People simply switch off these channels at the sight of those faces. Newspapers can be finished in less than 15 minutes. They have more skin of women to show from each and every angle than any intellectually informative matter. Their editorials look like concocted CV of some job seeker! They too need advertisement money, for which they threaten to wound reputations or image of the government but are afraid to even betray the slightest sign of striking. On the contrary, they will display excessive enthusiasm to steel the thunder from any public interest movement like that of Anna Hazare led anti corruption movement by opening their own media war on corruption only to divert public support from Anna movement.Does anybody believe that the present day media will ever launch any real war on corruption? Had it ever been so, corruption would never have become all powerful in less than 45 years in India. In fact, the conversion of the Fourth Estate to Fifth Columnist has created the hydra of corruption, which has thrown an open challenge to the people of India-hamse jo takrayega, chur chur ho jayega !That is why the PM says there is no corruption in 2G or any other ghotalas, which are blurting of a frustrated opposition dreaming an early election to enter power! We must learn to respect our Prime Ministers. I trust him as he is an honest man, thus an honourable man!

Why crucify Raja and Kanimazhi alone ?

Everybody knows Raja could never have done this all by himself. The congress claims itself to be a party concerned about the welfare of the marginalised and weaker sections. Then why crucify Raja and Kanimazhi alone. The Bahujan Samaj people are thrown in jail but others are being strongly defended, Is this fair ?

B Prasad

Thank You Raja !

We have to thank Raja for many things he did to the staff in DOT &DOP,in issues like merger of accounts which led to better promotional avenues. He was considerate and if satisfied would take a stand and help out many senior level officers who shared a good rapport with him. We thank him for merger and promotions.

Wait as there is no option

Listening for quite sometime that GMs posts would be filled up soon. But mandarins in Delhi perhaps are too busy to fill a large no. of GM's posts lying vacant for quite sometimes. Those waiting to become GM for lifetime have no option but to wait.

RTI

Copy of agreement

The appellant sought detailed information about the installation of a cellular tower in the building of which he is a resident. The CPIO informed that the consent of the Secretary and Treasurer of the Association was taken before installation of the cellular tower in question but refused to provide information about (i) the rent being paid to the apartment owner on whose apartment the cellular tower has been set up and (ii) copy of the agreement between BSNL and the said apartment owner. The CIC rejected the arguement that the disclosure of this information would adversely affect the competitive position of BSNL. The CIC observed that the appellant has stakes in the building and its environment and the electro magnetic radiations emitted by the tower may affect him and directed to disclose the information.

Comments

This case opens up the numerous possibilities of the use of the RTI Act in the environmental protection. The PSUs are left in a position of disadvantage vis-à-vis their private sector counterparts.
