Many apparent runners are hesitant to accept
berth in next reshuffle of Union Cabinet?
'Power thy name is politics'; but ironically some of the apparent runners,
particularly in Congress, are hardly keen on accepting berth in the
up next reshuffle in the union cabinet. Individuals may have their own
reasons but the reasoning remains constant. The runners have apprehensions
that allies like SP may withdraw support from the government anytime
post winter-session for want of a feasible third-front? Does not it
seem that some of the allies have turned themselves into magicians who
could bring misfortune to the magic-number?.

Is BJP caught in a bind over Vadra issue?
It is heard that BJP is still caught in a bind over the Vadra issue
because it was an informal understanding between BJP and Congress (brokered
by Brajesh Mishra) made during the Vajpayee days that both the parties
will not bring the acts of the family in public life. But with Arvind
Kejriwal making the most noise about the son in law issue the BJP does
not know whether to join the bandwagon or to honor the old commitment.

Who is playing crucial role in appointment
of RAW Chief P C or Shinde?
After the MHA has sent the panel for the new chief of RAW, comprising
11 candidates, it is being discussed in the corridors of power that
it is PC who is playing bigger role than Shinde in the appointment of
new chief. Reasons seem several; PC has long experience of tackling
internal security at critical junctures, secondly; he has emerged as
dependable alternative to Pranab Mukherjee in the govt. and lastly;
it is PC who, supposedly, has to shoulder bigger role till 2014. Present
chief of RAW will be retiring on December 31.

Official language policy
At the moment, official language policy is not serving any purpose,
so it would be better if it is done away with. It has become more of
a burden in official working. It was ill-conceived idea to talk of Hindi
in official work. Furthermore, majority of people in government offices
are unwilling to work in Hindi. It is high time when all this tamasha
in the name of Hindi is stopped at once.

Disorder of magnitude of Afghanistan in Delhi?
Do you want to see disorder of the magnitude of Afghanistan in Delhi?
Go to Nizamuddim railway station, there is encroachment, dirt, lawlessness,
Taxi wala will greet you on platform, total anarchy. Can't we have prepaid
taxi booth on the foot over bridge itself by extending the space so
that passenger gets it on first approach? The Central government claims
first class airport in the Capital but 3rd class Railway station (because
it is used by 'Aam Admi')? There seems to be total lack of co-ordination
between Vinay Mittal's railways and Sheela Dixit's Delhi Government.
I request both of them to see themselves in surprise.

Kudos to Raghuraman
His suggestion for integration through knowledge of Hindi, English and
one of the South-Indian languages should be given a fair trial. I have
already learned a few Telugu words which I speak whenever needed. Our
school syllabi may be updated to include this suggestion. Also, in this
age of global competition, we may consider teaching one of the foreign
languages, the option being left for the child to choose.
