Every appointment at highest level marred with controversy !
It is really funny to see that every appointment at the highest level
in every government hierarchy is marred with controversy. The simple
reason is people have lost faith in the present system. There is a huge
trust deficit and the integrity of such appointees who hobnobbed with
one party or other during their service career has to come under scanner.
Why we hear such rude yet true connotation that when the chapter of
honesty was taught, both politicians and bureaucrats were either sleeping
or bunked the class. Everything is with a reason and a democratic society
must be satisfied with the actions of CBI Director. The one who is with
the government, of the government and for the government cannot do justice
with this coveted appointment. There is no harm to shortlist deserving
and eligible candidates and select the best one. Unfortunately in our
country merit is the last choice. We get stuck up in cast, religion,
region and last but not the least recognition. We all are in this grid.
So it makes no difference even if there is square peg in the round hole
or vice versa.....unless CBI is out of the clutches of government, its
Director has to be of the choice of the government. We must accept this.
