Platform ticket cost !

The minimum fare for local train commuters is Rs.2.00 while for entering a Railway platform to see off visitors is Rs.5.00. Can the Railways do some reasoning to justify the abnormal rate of platform tickets else people will buy Rs.2.00 ticket and enter the platform to see off their beloved ones.

IRS and travesty of justice

One fails to understand if the IRS cadres are to be humiliated vis a vis every other service recruited through the civil services exam. Why doesn't the government declares the IRS to be a GroupB service? While 1982 batch of IAS, IPS and IA& AS are getting Rs. 80,000 scale, the 1982 batch of IRS is merely a Commissioner with Rs 45,000 lesser salary. It's utterly shameful for the IRS and grossly inhuman on the part of the government to act in such a partisan manner. Worse the IRS cadres are so down and out that they don't even react at all this. Now even the state government Gr B officers are pacing ahead of the IRS in promotions. Few years down the line .even Gr C will take over from them. Thanks for this travesty of justice.
