Aaj Ki Aawaz
EC's got Maya's statues covered!!!!
But Kursheed's 9% sop remains uncovered!!
Okay..... though EC's put Kursheed's lollipop in the wrapper but
it
can be seen!!
And then you have Kursheed saying 'as meddling in poll process EC's
being seen'!
Joke doing the rounds in Delhi .... EC should cover Kursheed's gob!!!!
That's if to the T EC does its job!!
What about the box of chocolates Rahul gave a Muslim Kid ....his
new
'Kalawati'???
Chocolates will be ordered by truckloads by Mayawati!!
Shouldn't EC seal and cover Rahul's gift to this Muslim kid????
On sops during the code of conduct period EC has failed to put the
lid!!
Elections in India are the dance of money and power!!!
Where power does not work on the electorate money Netas do shower!!
Money , booze, drugs are being mobilized and being stored for distribution!!
And in swinging votes these have a huge contribution!!
Congress's paid survey says in UP Congress-RLD are getting 120 seats!!
If this does take place it'll go into record books are one of the
biggest electoral feats!!
And I'm sure IB too must have painted a rosy picture for Congress!!!
IB advise in fact got Rahul's Grand Ma into an electoral mess!!
When Salman Rushdi came and went in the past no one created a furore!!
Now why 'do not allow him' Muslims karr rahe hai roar???
Without a doubt he should have been banned from coming here after
his
offending book!
This roar now to ban him from coming here 'votes motivated it does
look'!!
Hussein hurt Hindu sentiments and had to run away!!
So if Rushdie does come here ' he should be shown Exit ka way'!!
Twice a month Ambani bros meet for breakfast!!
Mukesh does the eating and Anil the talking because till noon Anil
does fast!!
Anil follows a diet ..... no milk or milk products...... and no
solid
food till noon'!!
So maybe they meet to have breakfast in the afternoon!!
Fresh juice, poha, dosas, idlis ...... what do they talk about!!!
Political climate and sharing of contacts....nothing about the past
is
sorted out!!
In UP if Maya comes Gaur benefits and if SP comes Sahara will be
gain!!!
But both have 'insurance policies' to ensure that whoever comes
on
them does not inflict pain!!
But whoever comes to power Amar will remain persona non grata!!!
Some would even say not it is time that to politics Amar says bye
bye ta-ta!!
Last but not the least.... yes we who have woollens and heaters
enjoy the cold!!
But the poor are 'literally holed'!!!
Like they say one man's food is the other man's poison or zehar!!!
Winter....what some see as Nature's blessing for others is Nature
ka
kehar (curse)!!

Congress's UP strategy
What Congress lacks in organization, it will make up through media campaign
centered around the coverage of party general secretary Rahul Gandhi,
say sources. The high point will be Gandhi's speeches as he travels
through the state, highlighting the corruption of the Mayawati-led Bahujan
Samaj Party (BSP) government and the recent announcement that 4.5 per
cent of the 27.5 per cent quota for OBCs would be reserved for the minorities.

after corps commanders meeting
The special emergency meeting of corps commanders and principal staff
officers called by Pakistan's army chief Keyani on 12th January at GHQ
Rawalpindi after a marathon ten hours long session. Army spokesperson
and its PR outfit ISPR refused to give any details of the discussions
except that the commanders decided that 'there shall be no compromise
with the country's security' and that the army shall provide security
to US businessman of Pakistani origin Mansoor Ijaz as and when he comes
to depose before the supreme court appointed judicial 'probe commission'.
It was also confirmed that subjects like the supreme court's recent
orders, the affidavits filed by the army chief and DG ISI in the 'memogate
case', and the sacking of the defence secretary were discussed at the
meeting but the details of the discussions were not divulged.
Pakistan : sacked Defence Secretary Still
Baffled
Pakistan's sacked defence secretary Khalid Naeem Lodhi has confided
to some close friends that he was still baffled by the suddenness of
his termination order as till 2.30 PM on 11th January he was briefing
a cabinet meeting on the survey of Pakistan amendment bill where the
PM too was present but he had no inkling of what was to come so shortly
afterwards. It is only through an unofficial call from an army personnel
followed by calls from the media late in the evening that he learnt
about his sacking. The official communication in writing came only on
the 12th morning. Meanwhile a petition has been filed by Advocate Tariq
Asad in the Supreme Court against the defence secretary's sacking with
a prayer for his reinstatement. Surprisingly Tariq Asad has also prayed
in the same petition to restrain the army from taking over the reins
of government.

What is India's strategy if Iranian Navy shuts
Gulf of Hormuz?
Indian Oil is a consumer of Iranian sweet crude oil but in the event
of Iranian Navy shutting Gulf of Hormuz, there is likelihood that the
production of Reliance and Essar will be diverted to domestic market.
Though oil company executives say the situation is not much to be worried
about, but isolating Iran could cause some problems in near term.

DEBATE
It's really sad that we are still fumbling with this archival notion
of "Sir" being reminiscent of colonial era. Traditionally
and culturally, we have been groomed to address our guests, elders and
seniors as Sir or with some other respectful word. But over a period
a particular class has made it their privilege and gets offended if
not addressed that way. Leave aside bureaucrat, even a office peon does
not like it, if not addressed "Sir" or "Ji".
Our ruling class should learn from developed countries. The most powerful
man on earth is called Mr President or Barrak and certainly not Sir.
I am told by my Australian Professor friend that when he met Prime Minister
there, the first introduction was Mr Prime Minister, but in later meetings,
it was only Mr Howard.
Hope we take lessons from this and concentrate on development rather
than such useless egoistic jingos.

IAS has served the country well!
Other services should not compare with the IAS. The IAS is the only
service which has served the country well, from 1948 onward till date,
IAS officers have even died in the cause of the nation. Anyway, it is
the elite service in India and no other service can even compare.

If a Government employee gets a delayed promotion, the logic of 'no
work no pay' is adopted. The court's of the country also ratify this.
But if the MPs stall the Parliament proceedings and no work takes place,
they get payments for having not worked. Can anybody explain this dilemma
in the background of Right to Equality embroiled in the Constitution
of India.

Factually incorrect
This regarding the comment of Rakesh Tiwari regarding "State of
affairs" on 11-01-2012. This is factually incorrect as nowhere
in the country has 1997 batch of IAS has got SAG. 1996 will be eligible
for it this year (actual grant may take some time in all cadres), but
only to those officers posted in the state cadre, not in GoI.

All Kudos to brave Officers
These upright and sincere officers faced the violent mob which assaulted
police and public in Ramanathapuram District of Tamil Nadu. Because
of the timely action by police hundreds of innocent lives were saved.
Kudos to such brave Officers.

Many may not be aware that the Indian Muslim League is the successor
of the hated Muslim League of the pre-partition India. They maintain
the same head quarters of the pre-partition days in Kerala. Nehru who
is the cause of many problems facing this country was responsible for
allowing this outfit to continue in Kerala. At first Congress was scared
to come any where near this communal party. Later Congress and the left
vied with each other to give credibility to this party. Now Sionia led
UDF has gone one step ahead by including them in the UDF and giving
ministership in the vital HRD Ministry at the centre. Congress has now
found this arch communal party as its secular mascot. This party is
busy now coordinating and bringing all Muslim communal elements under
their umbrella. The Minister is busy opening branches of Aligarh Muslim
University in all nooks and corners of this country where there are
sizable Muslim population. In Kerala, they have opened a branch in Ernad,
the centre of Moplah rebellion of 1921 where thousands of Hindus were
killed. Congress who is responsible for the first partition and cause
of many problems facing this country is slowly taking this country for
the second partition.

Why should IT companies go to SE Asian countries?
Given that cost of living is lower in many tier II cities such as Patna,
Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Bhopal, and many others, its a case of state governments
pulling these entities with an attractive package ( soft loans, land
etc). This will ot only create demand for jobs in these cities, it will
help India retain its comparative advantage and earn the FE that is
badly needed. GOI should perhaps facilitate this process.

A blatant fraud by Gen V K Singh
I agree with views of writer. Law does not look at the faces. Every
one is equal before it. Had such action is against an persons below
officer rank, an army officer, who is commanding a battalion, would
have put him before summary/general court martial but Gen Singh is threatening
to Government of India that he would go to Supreme Court for so called
justice. Justice is that he should be penalised if he has done something
wrong in changing his date of birth which he could have done before
he entered the Army.

Can the High Court rules over-ride the RTI Act?
The appellant's request for information relating to the Haryana Superior
Judicial Services was refused by the APIO citing the rules 4(a) and
5 of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana (Right to Information) Rules
2007. On appeal, the FAA directed to provide information on certain
points. Regarding remaining information, the FAA endorsed the decision
of the APIO without claiming any exemption section of RTI Act. The respondent
submitted that he was bound by the rules framed by his own High Court
and could not comment on whether those rules were in conformity with
the provisions of the RTI Act or not. The Commission held that the stand
taken by the Respondent is totally out of sync with the provisions of
the RTI Act and directed to provide the information.
Comments
Many PIO's tend to refer to departmental rules or rules made by the
public authority in exercise of its powers under Section 28 of the RTI
Act. Section 28 confers powers on the competent authority, to make rules
to carry out the provisions of this Act. But no competent authority
can make rules to obstruct the disclosure of information by adding additional
exemption provisions not contained in the original Act.
