Can the Indian Banks Association do the needful?
The ATMs dish out currency notes in the denomination of 1000 &
500. It creates several problems to the consumer. One is that the account
holder has no means to check if the notes are genuine or fake. In case
it turns out to be fake, they lose money, inconvenienced and also made
to face police action (which is not always pleasant experience). Then
there is the problem of change- ordinary day to day purchases are difficult
as the shopkeeper don't have the necessary change. Countries like the
UK had provided the facility of choosing the denomination by the drawee
way back in the 1980s ! When will our ATM machines provide this simple
facility? Can the Indian Banks Association respond positively? Can the
RBI do something? Can the present Finance Minister kindly do the needful?
It will indirectly help the Govt by discouraging pumping fake currency
notes into the system through ATM machines and also check generation
of black money when the demand for 1000/500 notes goes down.

Pranab to be next President
For a person who started out as a teacher in Secondary scool in Amta
Howrah, this is a Himalayan achievement. This shows Indian dream can
match American dream. We feel proud of you Pranabda.

I fully agree with the comment of Mr SR. The CAPF officers, specially
BSF cadre Officers are the worse affected, even after putting in more
than 15 years of service, they have got only one promotion and are still
working in 6600/- grade pay, what to talk about others. Ministry and
people in higher ups are sitting ducks....things are getting worst day
by day...I am afraid of what happened in Bangladesh. Is anyone listening
?
TS
Maladministration
Do people know that armed forces officers of 1979 batch(commissioning
year and not writing exam date)just picked up maj gen rank (10000 grade
pay). Only 2 percent of army officers reach this rank. IAS 93 batch
is there. Such a state of affairs is dangerous for the country.

It is a curse to be in CPO
Every one is talking about SAG in 17/ 18 yrs, The CPO officers even
aspire for PB4 in 17 yrs.. No one is ready to give them SAG even in
30 yrs, Desh Bhakto ki is country main koi kadra nahi hai. It is a curse
to be in CPO as an officer.

It is strange !
It is strange to notice as to why some people are so uncomfortable
with the praises showered not only by the Delhi press but by that of
the entire country on former DGCA Bharat Bhushan. These people should
atleast have some magnamity to accept the great cleansing work done
by him for air safety which no other DGCA had dared to touch. Please
grow up !

Disclosure of address and immigration details of a passport holder
Referring to a passport holder, the appellant alleged that the said
citizen was accused in four criminal cases pending in various JMFC courts
at Indore and Mumbai. He sought information regarding this passport
holder like, his present address with name of country and the copy of
his immigration form. The Public Information Officer (PIO) denied the
information under section 8(1)(j) stating that the disclosure of the
passport details /documents has no relation with the applicant and that
it would cause unwarranted invasion on his privacy. During the hearing
the appellant contended that despite his informing the Passport Office
about pending criminal cases, a passport was issued to him. The Central
Information Commission (CIC) directed the Passport Officer, Mumbai to
inquire into the matter and inform the appellant whether cognizance
was taken of the fact that three complaints of criminal charges were
pending against the said person and subsequently send the findings to
the appellant. The Commission also directed the appellant to send a
copy of the complaints to the Passport Officer Mumbai.
